Everything about this B&B is just amazing - the location in the stunning Quantock Hills, the fabulous historical room, the beautiful walled garden and the wonderful cooked breakfast. There was so much attention to detail and the hosts were delightful. My husband and I are already planning a much longer stay at The Old House. Highly recommend.

Our delightful hosts, Manor and Ann, arranged everything for our comfort. Nothing was forgotten or overlooked. The breakfasts were exceptional. So was our room, the Coleridge Suite. So is the garden!

The rich history of the property including the garden was palpable, yet the room itself was incredibly comfortable, quiet and with every modern amenity we could possibly need for our stay. There were so many books around the room to browse; some about the house’s former inhabitants and a selection of their poetry, but also an excellent collection of fiction. I didn’t need to stuff my suitcase full of novels after all! The owners provided a fantastic breakfast every morning and went over and above to ensure that our stay was tailored to what we were looking for. Their hospitality was warm (but not intrusive) and their advice on evening meal locations and walks that suited our fitness levels were spot on and hugely appreciated. Thank you Manor and Ann!

It was love at first sight when I first saw a photo of The Old House. Having found out more about the history of the house I had no hesitation to book our stay there, although I never heard of Nether Stowey before! The whim paid off and we loved our stay there. I chose The Coleridge Suite with an adjoining private bathroom rather than the en-suite room because of its history. Having been there I think an en-suite in the room would spoil its history and character. The room was large and comfortable. As it looked out onto the garden it was quiet too. The breakfast, served in a cosy dining room was lovely too. The location was a triumph too as we could walk to have our dinner at The Ancient Mariner pub just opposite Coleridge Cottage at the bottom end of the village. And it took no time to get to Quantock Hills. Many thanks to our hosts. We’d love to return when the weather is a bit warmer!

The primary purpose of our visit was to walk in the Quantock hills. The Old House was perfectly located for this.
The property was full of character and the live-in owners were charming and helpful at all times.
Our room was a delight. It was larger and more comfortable than we expected and to learn that it was where Samuel Taylor Coleridge once lived was a bonus.
The breakfasts were first class. Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection.
Pretty minor in the scheme of things, but the toilet was a challenge to flush.

Our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The room was beautifully furnished and beds very comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing. The garden was looking colourful and well cared for.
We couldn't turn off the radiator in the bedroom so needed to open the windows fully which seemed a waste of energy.

Stayed for one night with my son. We were made to feel very welcome and had everything we needed. Our room was impressively spacious; the bed and seating were very comfortable and there was a good selection of tea and biscuits. Breakfast was really good and the setting is lovely and peaceful.

Booked for one night as a friend was getting married near by. Straight away felt welcomed and very accommodating. The next day we exsplored the village what had some great walks and a nice national trust to visit.
Though no covid restriction are needed at the moment the host still followed social distance and masks wearing what made us feel very safe.
