The "Barn" is very upscale, beautiful and comfortable. In addition, the location is perfect - walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and shopping.
Loved this spot and look forward to coming back!

Loved our stay at the PDX urban barn. Walked over to nossa familia coffee shop for our morning coffee each day. Delicious! Then it was over to new seasons market for snacks. All kinds of amazing foods, coffee, and beer in Portland. Truly a foodie destination. All amazing! Did a few hikes in the Columbia River Gorge including Multnomah Falls. The views were stunning. Took a day trip to the Oregon coast (Cannon Beach). Majestic! Topped it off with a couple days in Eugene for the US track and field Olympic trials. We had a blast! Got to see Sydney McLaughlin Lerone break the world record!
What a great vacation!

We loved staying at the Urban Barn. I liked how it was built to commemorate an old beloved barn that once existed on the site. Also enjoyed the decor and appreciated the efforts to recycle and be “green”. Very artful place. 😊

The neighborhood has all you need within a few blocks. The owner/manager promptly responded to my questions about the door lock and the neighbor's flood lamp that shone into the main living area 24 h a day. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

If you are traveling to Portland and want a true Portland experience in your lodging while feeling right at home, you need to stay in the “Urban Barn”. This beautifully decorated home in a typically wonderful Portland neighborhood is so comfortable and nice in every way. We immediately felt at home and the location was a perfect home base for our trip to Portland. Southeast Portland such great area. Lots of great restaurant and shops you can walk to and enjoy. So many wonderful places to see and things to do in easy driving distance. Susan, the owner , make the check in / out experience easy and seamless. She is very accommodating and her communication and helpful. She really wants you to have a great stay and enjoy all that Portland has to offer. I can’t say enough nice things about her and then”Barn”. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. 10 would be much more appropriate. By far the best VRBO we have rented. Don’t miss this place if you visit Portland!

Susan was incredibly responsive and helpful, the place was well-stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials, the bed was as comfortable as any I’ve ever slept on, and there was tons within walking distance. Our kids loved the back patio. If I had any feedback it would be that arriving at night, it would have been helpful to have the outside lights on to make entry smoother.

The Urban Barn was even more than we expected. The design, floor plan and decor were "architectural digest" quality. Loved the secluded patio. Couldn't have been more charming. We will come back & refer our friends!
Thanks for a wonderful stay.

The Urban Barn provided even more than its listing described. It was very clean, light, well-decorated, comfortable and spacious, in a very quiet neighborhood. The extra touches made my stay exceptionally comfortable - the umbrella, fresh coffee to grind, slippers, a kitchen will ample equipment. I will be back!

We loved the convenient location—easy walking to restaurants and groceries and shopping. Upon arrival, we all imagined living in a space just like it! Comfortable and modern with everything we needed.

Very charming and eco friendly place. Had everything we needed. Great communication with Susan. One thing I especially enjoyed is this place was built very well and took very little heat to make it so cozy on a blustery day. We would definitely return.

Susan's place is the best possible perch in a wonderful part of Portland. We loved this clean, eco-friendly place: no chemical scents on the linens, easy to use the chilly early morning air to cool down the place without needing AC, etc. Being steps away from both New Seasons and the co-op was fantastic, not to mention the excellent sushi and Mexican (Nueva Cucina) nearby. Plenty of room outside to secure our rental bikes -- Around Portland Tours/Convenient Cycle is a pleasant walk away through Ladd's Addition. We hope to return soon!

What a great home base for exploring Portland! We all loved staying here - the unit itself was super cool, aesthetically just our vibe. Everything one might need or expect. Excellent location, super convenient, safe, walkable to all sorts of stuff just as you’d want from staying in a Portland neighborhood. We plan to return there on a future trip. Thanks Susan!

I do not use that heading lightly. We have been all over the world and in most cases, stayed in places we have rented through VRBO and others I was forbidden from mentioning in my review because it was flagged. :) This is hands down the best place we have stayed at. Not only was it clean, quiet, spacious and had everything we needed. It had amazing character and was so thoughtfully laid out. The urban-barn design worked so well with our family. An open, airy layout, we still had plenty of “pockets” to call our own when each of us wanted to have some “me” time—be it the loft, the ground-level bedroom, the living area or the patio. I wish I could transplant this place to all the other destinations we have on our bucket list! I hope to be back sometime soon.
Thank you for a wonderful stay,, Susan!

Excellent Home Base
Susan was excellent to work with and the house was amazing. Super quiet yet close enough to everything we wanted to do. Clean, well laid out and very comfy for my son and I. He mentioned how great it was too, which means a lot coming from an 18 year old!! Thanks Susan!

Lovely Home
We truly enjoyed our stay, the night or hood was great and the home was lovely. We enjoyed the patio, and thankful for all the amenities, including high chair and pack and play. Communication was great with the host and we would love to stay again on our next trip to Portland.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
This is a perfect rental, fully equipped, beautifully designed and thoughtfully organized. The eco-friendliness is a plus, too. It is private, full of natural light as there are lots of windows and lights fixtures, very cosy, we felt at home and loved it a lot...Beds were comfortable, Tivoli radio was a wonderful addition, now we plan to buy one as well as all family was into it :) Wifi was good, we were able to work remotely without any issues. Location of the house is great - close to everything, vibrant and friendly neighborhood, kids enjoyed playgrounds at a walking distance (Piccolo park, school yard, Powell park), there are many restaurants and a good grocery just around the corner. Susan was friendly, flexible and available any time we had any questions. Highly recommend and missing it already, kids had a blast, now they are asking every day when we are coming back there.

Great home, great area!
We stayed at the barn for a week while getting married in Portland and it was the perfect place for our little refuge the whole week! We even got ready for our wedding here and it was such a lovely, comfortable space for our special occasion. The space is beautiful and Susan has thought of everything you would need for your stay. It is in a great, walkable neighborhood too.

Beautiful, original Portland home
This house was beautiful and in a great location. Cooking was a little effort intensive with unique appliances, beds were uber firm (if you like that kind of mattress) and the sofa was not comfortable (important to us on rainy days) but we’d stay here again. Host was incredibly helpful at all times.

The PDX Barn was a perfect place for us to spend our Christmas holiday, and was by far the best rental in which we've ever stayed. It is comfortable, homey, extremely well-appointed, and beautifully designed. Susan was responsive, attentive and accommodating. We will definitely stay here or in her other property on future trips to Portland.
