Originally built as a sea captain's home in 1835, this charming house situated on 6 acres of oceanfront property has been totally renovated. The location couldn't be better to capture the stunning views of the ocean and the mountains of Acadia National Park. You will have access to a private beach and a boat launch. The house faces Acadia, and offers spectacular views of the sunrise from the master bedroom. Acadia with its hiking and carriage trails is less than an hour’s drive. You may also wish to explore other lovely towns along the Maine coast such as Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Castine. Bring your bike, fishing rod, hiking boots, or just a book and enjoy!!
The downstairs was opened up so that one room flows into the other. The large, well-equipped kitchen (15’ x 22’) has an eight foot island with eight seats around it, making it easy to prepare meals while socializing with family and friends and admiring the view of the ocean and mountains. The kitchen also has an oval table with four chairs for easy dining. Just off the kitchen through two French doors is a large deck with round table (seats 8), plenty of chairs and an outdoor grill perfect for outdoor meals and barbecuing. The dining room (13’ x 15’) has a table that accommodates 10 people. The adjacent living room (19’ x19’) offers a comfortable place to relax, enjoy the views of Acadia’s mountains, or watch TV. Also on the first floor is a den (15’ x 15’) with a full size sleeper sofa, and a Foosball table. The first floor has two bathrooms and a laundry room.
On the second floor are the three bedrooms and one bathroom, The spacious master bedroom (14’ x 9’) with a queen bed, a desk, and has beautiful views of the ocean or the starry sky at night. There is a dresser, an armoire, and a walk-in closet. The second bedroom (13’x 15’) has a queen sleigh bed. The large third bedroom (15’ x 19’) has one queen bed, two twin beds and a futon. There are skylights in each of the three bedrooms. The bathroom is equipped with a double sink and a jet stream tub.
For families we have a foosball table, plenty of games & books, BOB sports stroller, stroller, high chair, and pack and play mattress.

Eastlook is a beautiful home which accommodated our family of seven perfectly. The house is very well equipped, with everything we needed. It is spacious, bright and comfortable. The setting is serene and relaxing!!
Taking the mowed path to the private beach was a highlight! We loved it all!! The location was great and we were able to go to Acadia, take a lobster boat ride, kayak, bike, swim & hike local trails. Finding treasures on the beach was a bonus!!
Thank you Rob & Laurie for sharing your home!

We had a terrific vacation in Surry. The house is lovely...very comfortable and spacious, with relaxed furniture. We had 6 adults ranging from 20 to 75 and a 2 and a half year old. There was plenty of space for us to be together, and also good private space. The deck with its views of the mountains of Acadia is enticing. The beach is literally a 5 minute walk. It's very swimmable. We rented kayaks, canoe, and paddle boards and launched all easily from the beach. We appreciated the beautiful setting, its proximity to highlisghts of the Maine coast, and also the fact that the town of Surry is not touristy or crowded.

We had a wonderful stay on Newbury Neck. The property is beautiful and the house is wonderful - the best of the many in which we have stayed in Maine over the past 12 years. Perfect location and extremely comfortable residence. The kitchen is a particular plus, with ample amenities. The owners kindly phoned to check in with us upon our arrival, and when I mentioned that the path to the beach had not been mowed (understandable because of a great volume of recent rain locally), someone came to mow the lawn the next day, which was much appreciated. A perfect visit!

We had a wonderful time at Eastlook. Rob and Laurie were very hospitable and accommodating. They checked in to ensure we had no issues and provided recommendations.
The location is perfect if you want to explore further northeast to Mt. Desert Island and other islands or south down penobscott bay. Morning and evenings were very relaxing on this quiet street with views of the water with Acadia in the background.
The house itself was very comfortable, clean, and well-supplied for our family with young kids (games, Beach towels, and drying rack were handy). I would highly recommend staying here.

There couldn't be a more peaceful and scenic location to greet the sunrise and begin your day. The chirping birds and routine deer sightings are a delight. Our stay on Newbury Neck was perfect. Long walks, jogs, and restful days were wonderful. Ocean access and beautiful views make this spot exceptional. Easy access to Blue Hill, Ellsworth and Acadia make the location ideal, and the house and our hosts were welcoming from the beginning to end of our stay.

Our family had a wonderful week in Down East Maine. The location of the home allowed for easy travel to Acadia and Bar Habor as well as other coastal locations. The home was clean with ample linens and other essentials. The highlight of the property was definitely the swing set and easy access to the beach!

Quintessential Maine
We truly enjoyed our time! The location was all that one would picture of Maine. We loved having access to the water for early morning sunrise and viewing Acadia across the water. We had the added bonus of viewing the fireworks from the beach.
The location was close enough for day trips to Acadia and other activities -we chartered a sail with a lobster bake.
House was well stocked for meals in and the owners were fantastic to work with.
Owners gave a recommendation for Perry’s Lobster Shack down the road and food was fabulous! Close enough to order to go as well.
The only downside was the floors were not vacuumed as well as we wanted; however, all other areas cleaned well.
We created some wonderful memories of Maine with our family!

Perfect getaway
What a find! Big, airy house with lots of skylights and amazing views. We loved stargazing each night with hundreds of fireflies. House was very clean, well equipped, and owners very communicative. We loved being a short distance from Acadia but also having the beach and local places to explore. The perfect house for a perfect vacation!

Rob is very easy to communicate with, and truly wants you to have a pleasant stay at Eastlook. The area is gorgeous and quiet, and the private beach was perfect for chilly September swims most days. The house is large, and handled our group of seven quite well.

Great house in quiet location
This property is perfect for those looking for a spacious modern home with outdoor space and nice views. It's on a very quiet street two miles from a lobster shack and a beach, and it's just a ten minute drive to an ice cream shop, so you can have a very nice day just hanging out around the house, which is good because it's a solid 45 minute drive to Bar Harbor and an hour drive to the attractions at Acadia National Park. The town of Ellsworth is 20 mins from the property and has big grocery stores, a really nice playground, and some restaurants. It's also conveniently located on the way to and from MDI.
The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The mattresses are very firm but overall the house is quite comfortable. I especially liked the big kitchen island and that there are several spots in the yard to sit and relax.

Stayed for a week with my 2.5 year old and wife. Had an amazing time. Swingset was perfect, beach was serene and private and road was perfect for bike rides. House itself was very well stocked with a ton of books and games for kids of all ages. Very well kept and clean. Everything working as expected. Amazing place and looking forward to coming back!

Truly wonderful
My family spent two weeks in this lovely spot and couldn’t have been happier. The house is clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The views of the ocean and fields are gorgeous. The private beach was a rare and special place and we used it multiple times a day. And we also appreciated the location on a quiet road ideal for running and biking. Rob and Laurie are very friendly and responsive hosts. We would come back if we get the chance!

Wonderful
We stayed for the last week of August. We have 4 children and this home had everything we could need (right down to strollers, high chairs, swing set, even a baby gate for the stairs ) . The setting is absolutely perfect. The neighborhood is friendly and safe (my 6 year old could ride his bike on the street and cars and bikers would give him a friendly wave). The sunrise is spectacular, the fire pit is perfect for s’mores ! We hope to return for sure !

Secluded beauty and all the comforts of home
This house is roomy, spacious, very well supplied and extremely comfortable. It has three bedrooms upstairs but the game room downstairs with (I assume) a pull out bed would also easily make a very good fourth bedroom for a larger group. This house is on a road that is very bikeable and we rented bikes (from the activity shop in blue hill) and enjoyed riding Newbury Neck road immensely--you can also ride over to a cool nature preserve that is great for low tide walks by taking Cross Road toward east blue hill. and you will see the preserve parking along the road. The water and views form the beach here across union bay to Acadia are breathtaking. It's not very close to larger grocery stores, maybe a 20 minute ride on pretty country roads in either direction (blue hill or ellsworth) so that's something to keep in mind, but there is a small shop in Surry and bikeable roads in this part of Maine are pretty rare so that's the benefit you get to being a bit off the beaten track. We cook a lot as a family and found the kitchen very well stocked with tools, dishes pots and pans, and the HUGE island/counter was just a dream. I wish I had such a big beautiful work surface at home. Another great feature was the house was fully stocked with games, a selection of adult and kid books, beach chairs, and a really great outdoor space, a porch for eating and lounging, a playground for the kids and a fire pit, grill, really all you need for summer fun and under an hour to Acadia. We recommend the hike up sargeant mountain and the farm stand at beech hill farm if you go to Acadia--parking passes are sold at the Ellsworth chamber of commerce which you will pass as you drive there or inside the park at the visitors centers which keep better hours. Linda Greenlaw, a famous former swordfish captain and author runs a lobster boat out of Surry will do tours which you can arrange at the local lobster shack, Perrys, which is right up the road from this house. We went out with Linda last year and the kids are still talking about it. She's incredible. And Perrys lobster rolls came out on top of our informal contest this summer. Swimming in union bay right at the house is great, but east blue hill town beach (marked "private") about ten minutes away (on curtis cove road about a mile down from e. blue hill library) is excellent and a touch warmer water. We love Maine and this house was the perfect place to enjoy all Maine has to offer.

Get your relaxation on!
Rob is very responsive and accommodating.
Stayed here with two other nuclear families and our pup, had plenty of space and didn’t even fully utilize the downstairs activity room with the pull-out couch.
Lobster pound and public beach just down the road were great bonuses. Close enough for day trips to Acadia. Loved the outdoor space with playground for young ones, spacious deck, plenty of seating for eating / relaxing, and perfect shade trees for hanging our hammock.
Loved the skylights in the bedrooms, and the sleepy town nature of the country road.
Beachfront was as advertised- our own little piece of tranquil heaven.

Amazing views, spacious, and comfortable home away from home! Incredible response time!
Everyone loved the house and found it had every comfort from home available. It had a well stocked, and spacious kitchen. The private beach has breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. The yard outside the house was well kept and our two dogs enjoyed running around the backyard on the days we grilled outside.
The owners response time to any questions were incredible.
The house was incredibly close to Acadia National Park and we took advantage of that fact a few times.
Overall, this rental is one of the best places we stayed in Maine!

Totally enjoyed our stay at Eastlook!
Our Eastlook experience was everything we had hoped it would be and more...Our 3 generations made the beautiful house our home for a week and we are still reminiscing about what a memorable vacation it was!
Waking each morning to the beautiful sunrises and peaceful views, made each day, from start to finish, something special! The proximity to the water and unusually warm temperatures for Maine, allowed us to not only enjoy finding "treasures" on the beach but to actually be able to enjoy swimming!
Day trips to explore the beauty of the area brought us to Acadia, Blue Hill, and Bar Harbor several times.
Upon entering the home, we were greeted by fresh flowers and several gifts from the owners to welcome us and help us celebrate my husband's upcoming birthday. That personal touch spoke volumes!
Our week long experience will be unforgettable... I continue to look at the photos we captured, knowing those memories will always bring joy to our hearts. Thank you Rob and Laura for sharing your beautiful home! We hope to be able to return someday...The Grimm Family

Wonderful property, very private and has stunning views of Acadia!!!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property! The owners are wonderful and extremely responsive to any questions we had. We have rented homes on VRBO many times and this home was by far the nicest, cleanest, true to the pictures and completely stocked with everything we could have asked for! Huge kitchen, brand new appliances, large island, formal and informal dining areas. Actually we found all rooms to be large and spacious with lots of windows and sky lights. The outdoor area was also awesome with a huge deck, gardens and place for camp fires! The property also includes beach access that you can literally spend hours exploring in either direction. The house is only 45ish minutes to Acadia where we spent 5 days exploring. Ellsworth is 20 minutes away where you can easily find groceries, LL Bean Outlet and more. We are a family of 5 with a 12, 15 and 17 year old and we all loved everything about this property and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Can't wait to come back!

Extremely Comfortable with an Amazing View!
My family and I stayed in this lovely home the first week of September and we could not have been more pleased. The house is quite spacious, light filled, comfortable and immaculate! There was absolutely everything imaginable in the house- so many linens, a well stocked kitchen, books, games, strollers, a pack-n-play and much much more! We did not want for anything while guests in this home. The owners left us a couple of very thoughtful gifts: knowing we had kids in our party, they left makings for S'mores - for the fire pit they have in their yard, as well as coffee and Maine jam. Initially, my niece and her two babies (1 & 3) were not going to be able to join us, but were able to last minute. I emailed Rob and Laurie and without hesitation they said having more guests than originally expected would be no problem. Looking out the front windows from the living room and master bedroom was absolutely peaceful and beautiful. With regard to some other comments about the wifi being a bit slow- I moved to a nearby town in Maine from more populated areas. I was at first in disbelief how the wifi can be slow here! It took me months to get used to. This is not unique to this property. You will find slow wifi in many areas of Maine. Thank you Laurie and Rob for your flexibility and generosity!

Great family vacation
My family had a wonderful stay at Eastlook. We had 6 adults and 1 toddler staying for the week. The house is spacious. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking meals. There was a washer and dryer in the laundry room which came in very handy. There were plenty of linens available . The house is super clean. When the windows are open, the breeze off the water is heavenly. The views of the water and hills from the home are gorgeous.
My granddaughter loved the swing set and slide in the backyard. We also enjoyed walking to the beach every day to pick shells and play in the sand and visiting Mirage (the horse) across the road. My husband and I went for a long, leisurely walk almost to the end of the road. (next time, I will use more bug spray) We used the firepit to roast marshmallows and make Smores. They have a gas grill next to the deck that we used nightly. In the evening we played games and cards and had a great time relaxing.
If fast internet is a necessity then this is not the place for you. It is adequate for checking emails, etc. If you want to unwind and relax , this is definitely a beautiful place to stay. I would definitely return.
Laurie and Rob were very attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns we had. They are wonderful hosts.

Quintessential Maine
Our first time renting a vacation home and we could not have asked for a better experience, which started with the quick response of the owners, who were very helpful. My parents, husband and three children traveled to Maine for one week and loved our time at Eastview. The home was clean, spacious and had plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen had every gadget we could have asked for. We also enjoyed the fire pit outside and the beautiful, quiet that Eastview offered. Of course, the highlight was the proximity to the ocean. We walked down to explore the private beach and take in the amazing views. My children had fun looking for sea life and I enjoyed looking for sea glass. A bonus is having an excellent lobster "Shack" just down the road.
We were a short drive from Acadia and Bar Harbor and spent a day in each place. We all agreed at the end of our week that we wished we had more time, and we would certainly not hesitate to stay here again.

The home was everything we expected and more!!!!
My family had a great stay at Eastlook. We had four adults and 4 college students for the week. We had plenty of room for everyone, the kitchen was well supplied and we never ran out of hot water. The property was clean and well maintained.
My kids loved the private beach, as they hung out there almost every evening after we came home from exploring for the day. We spent most of the week at Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor but had a nice peaceful home to return to every evening.
Perry's Crab Shack (a couple of miles up the road) has a great lobster roll and we enjoyed a bald eagle having lunch with us one afternoon at the shack. Pugnuts ice cream was also very good. It is located at the end of Newbury Neck Road. Sidestreet Cafe in Bar Harbor is the place I had my first lobster and 59 Cottage had a very good grilled salmon.
Being from south central Pennsylvania this was our first trip to Maine. We will stay here again when we decide to come back. Meat and potatoes is the regular food of choice in our area so I made it a point to get my fill of different types of seafood all week. I was not disappointed. Didn't care for the pickled wrinkles though.
The weather was beautiful all week. We cooked breakfast almost every day and 4 dinners while we were there. The kitchen was beyond our expectations and the deck off the kitchen was also great. The cool breezes coming off the ocean made it so pleasant to sit on the deck and relax in the evening.
The wifi is slow but so what, we didn't come to Maine to be glued to our ipads or phones the whole time. The only regret we had was that we wanted to stay longer but all good things have to come to an end.
Sincerely
Scott Parks

pictures don't do it justice
We stayed in this lovely home for 6 weeks. It was probably our best summer ever. The house is spacious and beautiful. At various times we had up to 11 people and it never felt crowded. The kitchen is huge and well stocked (lobster pots, seasonings, coffee machine, etc - you don't need to bring much). The owners generously provide linens, cleaning supplies, toiletries...every thing we needed was there. They even left a really pretty and thoughtful gift for us when we arrived. Can't say enough about the attentiveness and responsiveness of our hosts. Any small issues we had were dealt with quickly.
The location is off the beaten path. So peaceful and quiet. It's a quick walk to a great beach. Lots of shells to find and rocks to climb on. The house has plenty of yard space for playing. The kids loved running around outside and we spent many nights toasting marshmallows in the fire pit. There's a horse across the street (Mirage) that will come right up to you if you have a carrot. Our kids loved that!
I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet getaway in one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. We were able to get anywhere within an hours drive and since we were there for 6 weeks, we really got to do it all.
The only problem we encountered was the Internet. Our phone service wasn't great and the wifi topped out at about 2mbs. We were told by the cable company that some kind of fiber is coming though, so that problem should be resolved at some point. Certainly not the owners fault, just the nature of being so remote. If you want to unplug though - this is a perfect spot to do that.
Overall, it was a perfect vacation. At the house you can take long walks, read books, do puzzles, play games, cookout, eat lobsters (there's a lobster guy right up the road) and spend amazing quality time with your family and friends. A quick drive in any direction brings to all the attractions and touristy things you could ever want to do as well as little beautiful picturesque towns to stroll through.
Thank you Rob and Laurie for sharing your amazing home with us. It was a summer we'll never forget.

A wonderful vacation home.
This is a spectacular setting in which to vacation and this home is a perfect and lovely base from which to explore it. It is comfortable and the amenities are up to date and very tasteful. The property is very well maintained and any questions we had about the services available were quickly and helpfully answered. We hope to summer again next year. The only quibble we had was the slowness of the internet.
