About this house rental
Beautiful vacation property in Surry, Maine overlooking the ocean on Patten Bay with elevated views from a large deck. Enjoy your morning coffee watching seals, eagles, and deer along with natures other wonders on 4 private, wooded acres with 335' of ocean frontage. The house offers first floor living with two bedrooms downstairs, one with a queen bed and another with twin beds, on the first floor. There is a pak-n-play available for a child. On the first floor is a laundry center with a washer/dryer and a full bath. Upstairs is a sizable master suite with king sized bed with full bath and sitting area. Open concept living with lots of light. Fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar includes dishwasher and microwave and a separate dining room that seats 8. There is a game room with a foosball table and card table along with games and puzzles in a finished basement room, creating another private area to work or play. All linens/towels, basic pantry items and starter paper products are supplied. Internet with Wi-Fi and HULU TV are available.
This property is conveniently located near the Village of Surry, and it is 15 miles from shopping and restaurants in Ellsworth or Blue Hill and 30 miles (about 45 minutes) from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

We had a very special stay in Surry. We have taken our summer vacation in Maine for more than a decade, and this property had some of the best features we have experienced. It is quiet and secluded. We found it to be very clean. The kitchen is well-stocked. The king bed in the master bedroom is a relative rarity and was the most comfortable one I have slept in. The location of the property is terrific - it is at the proximal end of Newbury Neck, such that the drive to Blue Hill or MDI is much shorter than when staying further down the Neck. The wifi was fast and reliable and the television was crisp and clear with many options. Even details such as the towels were fantastic. We aim to return!

Family of 6 adults stayed for a week. So comfortable, so easy. About a 45 minute ride to Acadia. Town of Ellsworth had any supplies we needed (or didn’t!). Our own private paradise. Book it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Surrey! The house was perfect for our family of 4: it had plenty of space, bedrooms, and bathrooms. The property was beautiful to hike around and just sit on the deck and look around. Several Osprey have nests and fly right in front of the water. We wished we could have stayed longer! One thing to note; there is no central air, but two of the bedrooms have window AC units. It probably isn’t an issue many times of the summer, but we happened to be there a week in the mid and upper 80’s. However, we loved the place so much, it didn’t affect our awesome visit! Highly recommend this property!

An amazing location and we will be staying here when we come back to Maine! I am a VRBO cleanliness freak and this place was so amazingly clean! It is so nicely decorated and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
My family (especially my son) loved the trail down to the water and the walks along the lower tide. A great and quite place to enjoy nature. We also were just 30 minutes from Acadia so getting into the park and enjoying more nature was so easy.
We also were able to enjoy other parts of Maine because of the location. It is close to Ellsworth, so you can get anything you may have forgotten, but in a few minutes you are back in secluded comfort!
Thanks again for a great stay and we will be back to explore more - we wish we could have been there longer.

Everything about our stay was wonderful! We loved the location, and the views--especially at the bottom of the two trails down to the water. The house itself was so clean and welcoming--and even had a fun welcome giftbag that was provided. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms were all generous in size, delightful in feel, especially the upstairs accommodations where we felt pampered! We enjoyed using the game room with provided games, and ate our breakfasts out on the balcony. Delightful!

This is a beautiful home in a serene setting. Extremely well maintained and clean. Check-in was super easy and communication was excellent! This home has all the amenities you could possibly need. It was just a short drive to many Maine attractions such as Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, Portland, etc. We will definitely be back! Convenient to all we wanted to do while in Maine. At first I was concerned because there was no AC window unit as described. But it was very cool for mid June and with the fans was quite comfortable. Very quiet and peaceful.

4 senior female friends that have spent one weekend a year together for over 25 years…hiking, biking , even back packing when we were younger….got together for our first WEEK long trip ( now retired) and it was the perfect place to stay! Our stay at The Cove was just what we wanted. The house was very clean and well stocked- my grandson especially liked the Foosball table in the downstairs game room! Loved going into Bar Harbor and walking the trails in Acadia National Park- about a 35 minute drive. But we also loved the town of Ellsworth which is just 10 minutes away. We spent 3 different days there. Be sure to do the candlepin bowling at D'Amanda's! You'll love the house and the location.

It is nice when the expectations of a property are fully met! The house easily sleeps 6 (2 couples + 2 single beds) with lots of room to socialize it the kitchen, living room and balcony. The house is ideally located in a beautiful and quiet large lot overlooking the bay with lots of good restaurants within 15-20 minutes. The house was very spacious and had all the amenties that you could want. All of the Acadia attractions and hiking trails were easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this property for those who are looking for a quiet, relaxing evening after a long day of hiking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coveside. Our host responded to all of my questions quickly and was very flexible with some guest changes we needed to make. Coveside was spotless, spacious and had many nice decor touches. An eagle was perched in the trees near the cove to greet us when we arrived and to say farewell on the morning we left! An easy and scenic drive to Acadia National Park but Coveside is lovely all on its own.

Cheri was responsive and allowed us to check in early after driving overnight to get here, which was so appreciated. The property is gorgeous and the private beach/pathway felt so serene. We had a lovely, relaxing time. The property feels far away, but is local to Surry and only 15 minutes away from Ellsworth, so very convenient. The house is comfortable and well appointed, has a view down into the woods with glimpses of the water. The hill down to the shore is indeed very steep; we did not go down to the water, but ventured down to the tree where the rope is tied to assist climbers up and down; younger, fitter people could manage this. The kitchen is a decent size and was supplied with basic spices, coffee and sugar. The notebook of local information was helpful. Newly renovated master bath is very well done and heated floors a treat. Our only issue was that the upstairs master bedroom television had no local reception, could not "find" any channels and was unuseable to us. Family room television had some television access via Hulu, so husband could watch some football.
Overall, we very much enjoyed the property and it would work well for a family.

The Property was true to VRBO description. What was unexpected was the humid 80+ weather in September. The owner provided fans were a welcome relief. Our only disappointment was the somewhat lack of lighting in the living room area. When/if returning to area, we will consider a future booking.

This cottage was lovely! The back deck overlooks the woods down to the water! Every potential need or desire was accounted for from beach towels and chairs to a first aid kit to all the kitchen essentials, extra bath towels, and lobster utensils! The home was immaculate and so thoughtfully designed and decorated! We fell in love with Maine - largely due to this lovely location! We are already planning a trip for next year!

Coveside did not disappoint our family of five. We felt right at home. It was clean, updated, well maintained, and stocked full of everything you need in a home kitchen. The beds were comfortable and hotel linens and towels were high quality. Beach towels and chairs are also provided. The furniture was clean and taken care of. The gas grill was a Weber. Even though there is only one A/C unit located in the upstairs main bedroom, there are plently of fans throughout the cottage to keep the home comfortable. This home offered a tranquil setting right on the water yet tucked in the trees. It was a welcome place to relax after exploring Ellsworth and Acadia National Park. Thank you for your hospitality!

The property was appointed with everything needed and all the extras, for adventures on the Blue Hill Peninsula and Acadia National Park. e.g beach towels, binoculars for birding, gas grill on the porch (we didn't spend time cooking) books about Maine, and more. I left comments in the guest book of the highlights our our vacation. Also the house is conveniently located for car trips to Blue Hill (15 mins), Ellsworth(15 mins), Stonington(30 mins), and beyond. The day we left we joked about needing two weeks next summer!

This house was exactly as described, so well-equipped and organized. The game room downstairs was a big hit with the teens. The kitchen may be the best equipped kitchen we've ever stayed in for a rental. The location was also handy. We hiked near Blue Hill several days and found some lovely hikes that were some of our favorites. Proximity to Acadia is perfectly fine with a 35-40 min drive.

This is absolutely a perfect home away from home! Beautifully furnished and decorated to highlight coastal Maine. The kitchen is equipped with every thing necessary to cook a great meal and serve it with beautiful dishes and tableware. Beds and baths were comfortable and bathroom towels were abundant. All in pristine condition!

My wife and I stayed at Coveside from September 25th through the 30th while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house and property were beautiful and have everything needed for a wonderful stay. The deck made the perfect spot to have our coffee and breakfast in the morning and for cocktails in the afternoon and evenings after a long day of exploring the area. We found the location in Surry was peaceful and private, yet close enough to everything you need. Plenty of shopping and restaurants are close by in Surry, Blue Hill and Ellsworth, and Bar Harbor and Acadia NP are just a 30 minute drive from the property. There are seating areas and paths to explore right on the property offering terrific views of the bay, woods and wildlife. The Property Manager, Cheri, and the Property owner were both extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. Even suggesting great local restaurants for our anniversary dinner. The kitchen was large and open with everything you need to prepare meals at the house, and the Weber grill on the deck came in real handy a couple of nights. All I can say is we had a wonderful time and really felt at home there. Thanks again for the gift bag. It’s a great reminder our our stay.

We were absolutely amazed with the cleanliness of the home, quality of the furnishings, and the nice towels. The kitchen was stocked with every utensil, cookware, and serving dish you need, as well as assorted condiments.
The host had a new washer and dryer, and detergent available for our use which was a bonus.
There is a nice deck, overlooking the winding trails to the bay. Hiking down to the bay is easy and there are chairs available to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Don't miss out on staying at this location when in the Acadia area.
