Nice hotel, Friendly staff, Room overlooked the park, Spa was nice
Nothing to complain about but a light by the desk would be useful as ii was quite dark in our room (235).

The staff at the hotel were absolutely amazing and incredibly kind. I’ve never ever come across nicer staff. Hotel was so comfy and spacious.

Breakfast very good. Location fine
A little disappointed in room as it was very dark morning and evening. When I booked it stated overlooking garden. Also no lights suitable for reading.

Dunboyne and its area is nice, the car park was big enough it was very easy to park. The room was big and the bathroom was nice.
The room was dark and cold. I tried to turn on the heater but didn't really work. I had to wait for the warm water too. The door was difficult to open and close. The hotel system was also problematic. I couldn't put the dinner costs to the room, I had to pay separate for everything. The breakfast was not bad, but there was only one sort cheese, and no salamis, no vegetables, bread only one sort, and toast. Dinner I could eat a'la cart, it was mostly ok, but they give me potatoe to the risotto (Wow :)). Nice vines and desserts though. It was very dark in the restaurant and all the waitresses were very tired but kind. The Spa was ridiculous, they wanted extra 25 Euro to get in, anyway hard to find it, through 3 recepcions, then if you want to go despite the extra money, a very long form has to be fill, with such questions, what is your occupation...(Why do you want to know???), then you have to book beforhand a time slot, - they said- to avoid the crowd. I must say, nobody was inside in the pool...so there is no spa-culture (yet I hope). The quit is also very problematic: the crossing gate is not opening.

The restaurant
Pool was an extra €50 and was fully booked . It was expensive to stay at the price and then wanted another €50. Didn’t know we had to book in for pool either .

very good breakfast. plenty of options and staff on hand to help.
possibility of allowing aged 15 in spa with parent present at defined points of the day would be a nice option.

Good breakfast, beautiful surrounding area, spacious rooms, nice bar. Helpful staff when check-in and ordering a taxi.
The rooms were given on the 0th floor, the view from the window is terrible, the feeling is that you are underground. We had three rooms reserved. One room did not have a refrigerator and the ceiling light did not work. In the other room, the hair dryer was in a drawer with a very short cord, it was impossible to dry your hair because you had to kneel down to do it! On the last night, the electricity went out in our hotel block, since we were already underground, there was no support or information from the staff in the morning. It was not possible to dry your hair or charge your phone, people moved through the corridors of the hotel with their phone lights. The reception only said that such a problem exists and is being solved, did not offer to charge the phone or to dry the hair in another room. We were very disappointed and left the hotel with negative impressions.

Very relaxed , ambient atmosphere & plush surroundings with light background music. Spotlessly clean. Enjoyed the spa & food excellent. Staff amazing, professional & helpful . Grounds beautiful & well kept. 5 minute walk to village.
Nothing comes to mind .

Nice breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff.
Looked for a sandwich after coming back late in the evening. Only option was room service - which is never a cheap option!

Situation was lovely. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Public areas were stylish, bright and immaculate.
Beautifully landscaped gardens surrounding.
Our bedroom needed refurbishment. The carpet was dingy and the furniture looked “tired”. The food in the hotel restaurant was poor, both dinner & breakfast. The chefs need to up their game.

The spa was great, rooms were clean.
Staff were very pleasant.
The Ivy restaurant was very disappointing, the service was not prompt and certainly not AA rosette standard.
We weren't shown to our table, just told over there on that round table.
Our food order was asked for before our drinks order.
Our steak knifes were just dropped in the middle of the table, our cutlery wasn't changed after our food order taken.
No finger bowls for the Mussels, we had to ask for them.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was wonderful and hot. The staff were very helpful.
We would have liked to add a folding bed to one room for an unexpected guest. However, we were able to add another room at the last minute.

This is a fabulous hotel. Gorgeous building, with super friendly and efficient check in. Massive bedroom with amazingly comfy super king size bed and well appointed bathroom. I ate in the lounge bar, and it was great. Again, super friendly service and really good food. Breakfast, again, super friendly service and good food
3.0
Breakfast was lovely, food was warm which normal from a buffet can feel as though it has been sitting a while.
More options would improve the breakfast - example more variety of eggs.
Room was spacious, however for the price for one night I feel at though they were outdated and could do with modernisation.
Spa facilities - upon check in there was no direction as to what way this hotel worked. For example if there was robes in the room and we could walk from the room to the spa.
Once arriving in the room we discovered there was no robes and therefore made our way to the spa. Again no direction was given as to what we done on arrival. The lady at the desk explained the pool was not in use which was disappointing regardless of the £10 fee being taken off. When we arrived to the changing rooms we were waiting around for a member of staff until we finally found one to ask for towels and robes as we still had not been given any instruction. Disappointment again when realising there was no robes or flip flops, since the hotel is advertised as a spa. We were informed only residents with a spa treatment booked would avail of a robe.
Jacuzzi was cold, pool was unsafe to use, hot beds didn’t work, and steam room out of use. Total waste of time to use the facilities.
Band cancelled that evening therefore there was no entertainment on a Friday night. Felt like a complete waste of a night away.
