Absolute Empfehlung!

Das Desert Camp liegt nur 10 Minuten vom Eingang vom Sossusvlei entfernt und hat somit eine tolle Lage. Neben der Nähe zum Park ist auch die Umgebung wirklich toll und man kann ab und zu sogar Tiere von der Lodge beobachten. Die Lodge selber ist sehr schön und man kann an der Rezeption alles an Grillutensilien erhalten, gegen Aufpreis. Wir hatten durch unseren Mietwagen mit Campus Ausrüstung alles dabei, sodass wir darauf nun nicht angewiesen waren. Was super cool ist, dass man sich bis 16 Uhr etwas zu Essen bestellen kann (Frühstücksuntensilien, Gemüse, Fleisch). Davon haben wir auch einmal Gebrauch gemacht und waren super zufrieden. Der Pool ist auch ein absolutes Highlight, da dieser eine Wahnsinns Aussicht hat. Alles in allen ein schöner Aufenthalt!

Schöne Unterkunft in perfekter Lage

Lage perfekt zum Start ins Sossusvlei. Gemütliches einzelstehendes Haus mit Terrasse und Grillmöglichkeit. Frühstück und Abendessen als Büffett in der Lodge sehr lecker und vielfältig.

Alles perfekt, nur ein Fön wäre nicht schlecht.

Exceptional

Everything was perfect! The rooms are very nice, spacious and clean. We had everything we needed. The pool area is very nice. The surroundings are very beautiful, you can spot some wildlife from the terrace. We enjoyed our short stay here.

Superb

One night stay and the first night on our Namibian trip. We enjoyed nature so much and even had the chance while watching the stars at night to see some desert foxes. The place is well kept clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is quite perfect to visit the dunes and Deadvlei.

Superb

Lovely accommodation. Views from the room are stunning! The rooms are clean, comfortable, equipped with aircon and have loads of privacy. Nice pool area, bar and Boma. Close to the Sossusvlei gate. Breakfast was served at the Sossusvlei Lodge just 5-minutes drive away and is definitely worth it. Booked a game drive in Sossusvlei, Enos the tour guide was exceptional. At night the amount of star you can see is breathtaking. Will definitely be coming back!

Would be nice to have a broom in the chalet so that you can sweep the sand out of the room and off the patio.

Love this camp!

Great location and clean facilities. The camp is located less than 3 minutes away from Sossusvlei entry gate. We loved the outdoor bbq and the kitchenette area. So quiet at night, and not bothered by the next doors at all since the huts are pretty spread apart. We had a few jackals visits during the night.

Stunning location, great place to stay

Desert Camp has a stunning location, surrounded by gorgeous desert scenery and minutes away from the national park entrance. The houses are clean and comfortable, equipped with aircon, a safety deposit box and a spacious bathroom. Each unit has its own driveway, so you can park right next to the house. There's enough space between houses to allow for ample privacy and there's really nothing standing in the way of complete peace & quiet (except the occasional gemsbok that were wandering around :)). The welcome at reception was efficient and friendly, the little bar next to it is open until 10pm and has wifi (drinks can be put on your room bill and credit cards are readily accepted). There's a pool too: we did not have time to try it but it did look inviting.

Just one small thing: obviously there's a lot of sand, so it would have been nice/useful to have a mop at the house to sweep the sand off the patio. It accumulates easily and it's hard to avoid carrying it into the room. It wasn't a problem for us but note also that breakfast/dinner is not on site, it can be booked at the adjacent Sossusvlei Lodge. It's only a 5-minute drive away and is really worth it.

Definitely recommend!

What a pleasant surprise. Felt like an oasis in the desert. Friendly and very helpful staff upon arrival. Lovely pool area. The cabin was perfect with an outside patio area for a braai with stunning sunset views. Delicious breakfast. We wished we had booked for two nights instead of just one. Also just a a few minutes drive from Sossusvlei gate.

One evening at Desert Camp - Exceptional!

Room was wonderful! Spectacular view and well equipped.

Shower was not properly clean - some residue hair from previous guests, otherwise no complaints.

Great location to experience Namibia

The staff was friendly and most welcoming. Enos the tour guide was exceptional and his presentation about the history of Namibia is something my kids enjoyed most. He kept everyone going by encouraging us to reach the top of big daddy dune

The roads are not compatible for small cars though. Perfect for SUV. I wish there was family chalet to accomodate kids and to sleep closer. Went with our 10 and 13 year old kids and we had to book another room opposite

We were pleasantly surprised with the location and very good service experienced.

The location, reception and helpfulness of staff. The chalet was well appointed, clean and served our purpose well. The use of the WiFi in the bar area together with a cool drink was a pleasure. I had lost my spectacles in the room and my gratitude to Irya for locating them and having them couriered back to me.

We enjoyed the uniqueness of nature and the facility that compliments each other in their simplicity

We did self catering and the fact that Desert Camp gave us the option to order food from them as well as utensils to braai with was really very smart!!
