Downtown. . . Down in the dumps

I found the bedding was comfortable, the bathrooms had multiple showers and toilets, and the vibe was right

One of the worst locations on my trip for connectivity, Wifi seemed to go off every 20 minutes. Bathrooms multiple times had really wet floors. Windows in my room seems locked open, which in Rototua with the sulpher smell can be irritating. When I arrived I wasn't informed how to access the building after hours, only for someone to luckily still be up to let me in and show me themselves on my 3rd night. Kitchen was cramped and space was sparce for the amount of guests in the building.

Very recommended!!

Great location, 50 m from the Intercity bus stop. The most clean hostel’s kitchen I have ever seen. Toilets were always clean and available. There is not elevator but the girl at the reception helped me bringing upstairs my very heavy suitcase. Pasta, rice, salt, coffee and tea, free to use.

No proper indoor dining room.

とにかく立地条件が最高に良かった。バスターミナルの隣なのでとても助かった。お米やパスタを提供してもらえる事がとても助かった。 10人部屋のドミトリーだったので狭いのでは?と心配していたが部屋自体が広くベットの置き方も工夫がされていたのでユッタリだった。

これと言っては無いが夕食時は自炊組でキッチンが戦争状態(笑)

Disappointing

It is located conveniently in the city center, close to the bus stop. It is also close to shops, supermarket, cafes and restaurants. Staff is friendly.

We missed a hook to hang our coats and/or towels in our room. The room is very minimalistic anyway: it only has a bed and two small night stands, that's it. A wardrobe or something like that would have been nice, or at least a coat rack, ideally with a few hangers. The bed was not very comfortable. It also had a dip in the center, so we would roll towards each other. The kitchen and lounge were constantly crowded. Felt like there were too few chairs for the number of guests. One of us needed to eat standing up one night. Everything is very run down. This sometimes makes it seem like things are dirty, even when are cleaned regularly. The guests were quite quiet during our stay, but still we would wake up early from traffic on Fenton Street, right outside our window. The windows are single pane glass, so next to sounds it also lets through heat. Luckily when we were there, the temperature was alright. There is no rack or anything in the shower to put your soap/shampoo/whatever on.

Central location and comfortable stay

Everything was good about this hostel. The staff is very welcoming and makes you feel comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Well equiped kitchen.

This is the best backpackers I have stayed. Everything is clean and tidy. The customer service of the staff is exceptional.

Would not recommend for young females

Is a good location and cheap.

Not suitable for young females. Facilities were dismal and very small space, not friendly to sit in common areas. No where to store your things in the room.

A very nice hostel in Rotorua

Free dry pasta and rice was at the front, kitchen had plenty of plates, cutlery, tools, etc. Perfect location right next to the visitors centre. The room was really nice. The hostel was partnered with a good day-trip planning company down the road, which was nice (even though we didn't actually get any discounts compared to booking online). WiFi worked well.

One of the showers was leaking water everywhere and another one didn't go any warmer than lukewarm.

Cheap, friendly and easy

The staff were lovely and friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the hostel. The bed was comfy and everywhere was clean.

The only thing I would suggest is that they might need to change the mattress protectors in room 8 as they are starting to look tatty and stained
