Good for one night but wouldn’t stay again.

Staff were lovely, heated outdoor pools was a hit but very rundown. Buffet breakfast was really yummy, price could have been dropped for kids especially as they don’t eat alot. It was $25pp. Location was perfect, short drive to restaurants etc. Lots of parking spaces. Room accommodated my little family of 4.

The bed we slept on was very itchy during the night so our sleep was terrible and woke up feeling tired for our drive back to Auckland. Value for money, pretty average.

Pleasant

Reception staff are awesome. Excellent customer service. Only downside was that I was not asked whether I wanted pay by card or cash— Money was taken out of my card immediately plus the card surcharge. I would have preferred to pay in cash.

Photos of the property looked a lot better than in person. Room and amenities need to be cleaned thoroughly.

Always our first pick!

The breakfast was phenomenal, the staff always friendly and our room was great for us two adults and 2 kiddies. The pool was a hit with our kids especially because they are heated, we went at night and in the morning! We love staying here and it’s always our first pick when we visit Rotorua!

Perhaps some dehumidifiers in the rooms during winter. The air con didn’t seem to draw out the moisture in the room but not a biggy!

Friendly and helpful staff, pools although the big pool was coolish, the sauna, good breakfast selection

Needs access from the car park rather than around the street but staff were happy to allow parking outside to unload otherwise it was great.

One Nite Wonder

The location was good for the job we had to do.

The room was stuffy even with ac and a ceiling fan. No extraction fan in the shower and was quite noisy with windows closed.

Bad experience disturbing at 2am

Nice pool

Got disturb at 2am in the morning someone trying to open our room. Had to call reception to sort it out.

We loved the heated pool, good size and clean. The staff were great and polite especially the night shift crew.

Rooms are a bit tired already, we didn't realise that the room we booked only had 1 ceiling fan, so It was a bit warm at night. However, staff were quick to provide a desk fan which helped a lot. Carpet corners a bit dusty as vacuums don't seem to reach them, some old candy wrappers under the bed. There are also no place to hang wet clothes in the bathroom. Breakfast buffet was a bit limited in choices compared to similarly priced hotels in the area.

The pool ,spa and jacuzzi facilities are great...rooms are clean and nice with a beautiful view from balcony.

The gym facilities are a bit poor.

Distinction Hotel was almost a scam. Would not stay there again even if it's for free.

The only thing we liked was the secured parking area.

Everything else. Distinction hotel is a run down hotel where you could NOT get your money's worth. When we arrived, front desk people were boarderline rude. The room was dark, gloomy and dusty. The pillows, bed and duvet smelled foul. The beds felt lumpy like it was never replaced since they first opened. Paints on the walls and doors were also chipped off. It is very outdated. Hotel towels were as rough as a sand paper. We stayed 3 days there and the breakfast was the same each day. Also, when wanting help with our luggages, the front desk people were of no help at all. We would never stay here again even if it will be for free.
