Our flight is been cancelled so I booked a room at the very last minute, when we arrive at the hotel for the check in Fabio at the reception was super helpful, we had problem for the reservation online, and he looked after our booking and make sure that everything was sorted and gave us a room.
That was really professional and great customer service.
He suggested great places to go and super locals spots, I work in the industry and I can recognise when someone is so good in is job.
I think he deserve a promotion! I'm travelling a lot and I never met anyone so passionate about is job and so well prepared, to be fair we like the hotel because of him as well, yes the stay was great but sometimes people make the difference.
We hope to come back again, in the beautiful island of Madeira.
Once again, thanks so much to Fabio!

The hotel had a really nice feel to it - the staff really wanted you to enjoy your stay and were very friendly and helpful, and it felt upmarket without being posh which was perfect for us. The restaurant was laid-back and the food was really good too. The rooms were comfortable and well-equipped although we were a little sad to not have a view as we were on the ground floor! The hotel had lots of facilities such as gym, sauna etc and evening entertainment. The location was great as it was only a 20 minute leisurely walk into Funchal. Rooms were very clean.
The breakfast was a little limited - I would have preferred to have more fresh fruit and healthier options. I think in general you would struggle as a vegetarian with the evening meals.

Comfortable hotel in a good location with lovely gardens. The a la carte restaurant was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly.
The main restaurant was always busy, and the food was uninspiring. The cooked breakfast was barely warm and the coffee was awful.. We found that we had to eat late in the evening to avoid the busiest time, but, by this time the food had been demolished, and we were left with the scraps.

Considering the size / number of hotel guests the buffet food on offer at Dinner was pretty good quality, not huge choice but good nonetheless
Breakfasts, looked less appealing ( we had breakfast out in Funchal most days)
The apartment on Level 1 was very noisy ( venting machines on all day long) the room was nice but too noisy to sleep so we complained and were moved. Reception were very accomodating / responsive so it must have been a known issue

Our stay in hotel Pestana Miramar was excelent. The hotel is in a beautiful garden with palm trees. We had half board and everything was great. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel very, very much. The room was cleaned every day. We need gluten free food which wasn´t any problem and staff in the restaurant was very friendly and offered gluten free food for us.

I really liked the food especially in the Miramar restaurant.
The room needed a bit of updating. seal on balcony door was broken so I had to request assistance to open it. I don’t like QR codes and neither does my phone.

The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the “hotel zone” within a 15 minute walk to the centre of Funchal (note it’s a steep uphill walk back!) and 10 minutes the other way to the Lido area. The pool areas were lovely and not overcrowded (the connecting Pestana Village hotel pool was my preferred of the two). Our room was large with a separate living/kitchenette area and balcony overlooking the pool and terrace; the room was a little dated, but everything was very clean and tidy. The staff in all areas of the hotel (restaurant, reception, housekeeping) were extremely friendly and helpful at all times.
The air conditioning wasn’t working in our room, rather the ventilation system was pushing through outside temperature air - not great in 30 degrees! Our bathroom also flooded on our last night, however the staff were extremely helpful and reacted very quickly to sort it out.

There was a wide range of food to choose from for our meals. There were more activities offered in the hotel than we had time to do, as we had a short stay. The hotel was located in a lovely area and by a bus route so we could access the city attractions.

Honestly I liked everything about the place. The staff was especially exeptional in my opinion. They really made you feel welcomed.
I didn't have any problems, but there were some things that could be improved. The quality of the food in the buffet was not that great. It's fine if you are hungry and just want to eat and don't want to go out every night to find a place where to eat. But if you are looking for restaurant quality food, then that wasn't it.
Another thing was that my room didn't have a view, which is probably something I could have requested, but didn't think about it until later.
The rooms are kind of retro and perhaps could use some modernising from the design prespective.

The Location was great. Beds were comfy. Food was good.
some of the Bar staff were abrupt and not helpful. Arrived late at night and staff were not prepared or able to assist with check in as was originally suggested.

My family and I had a wonderful time in Pestana MiraMar (Madeira). The hotel has a very good location. The accommodation and the hotel facilities are great.
We would like to particularly praise the hotel staff, which was always extremely helpful, friendly and very attentive to our needs.
We fully recommend this hotel.

The 'Summer' room was amazing, very comfortable, clean with lovely views.
Manager was very helpful professional and friendly on arrival
We have travelled far and wide staying in various types of accommodations and I can honestly say we had never been treated as badly by hotel employees, with calls at the door, by phone and letter under the door, we were treated like criminals

'Garden' ambience. Pools
Lack of information about housekeeping, routines. Brusque older staff in the meal areas alongside many inexperience younger 'trainees'.
Food not very exciting, hot food often only warm. Dishes sometimes poorly labelled. Sometimes dishes were not replenished for long periods - if a late dinner was taken the choices were sometimes restricted.

Design and building plus grounds all lovely! Location great as near town but out the way of the main strip. Nice room with facilities, finish. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast great!
faculties such as pools, spa good.

Spacious room, delicious cocktails at the pool bar
Paid parking 15€ per day. We arrived by car to the Pestana Miramar, but it was closed. I had to call and ask for the directions. Turned out that Miramar is closed and we were given a room in Pestana Village. We never received any info about Miramar being closed. The receptionist was not friendly at all.
In overall, the hotel was super old, but not dirty. Breakfasts were disappointment. Bad value for money. Wouldn’t come again.

The hotel is low rise and has a colonial feel to it. The suite was spacious and clean. We asked for sheets to the sofabed and they came to the room at once and sorted it for us. We liked having a small balcony you could sit in. Liked the kitchinette with the fridge, so I could keep milk for my tea cold.
The garden is beautiful and lush, even in January, and you can get a guided tour of it. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. We loved the homemade bread and fresh fruit.
The bathroom is also nice with a bathtub. They changed our towels quite often even though we didn't ask for it.
The entrance to the hotel is quite steep, and the hotel is situated about 1K. from the town centre up a hill. There is a busstop for local busses just outside the hotel.
Just around the corner from the entrance there are two small supermarkets and you can either go downhill into town or turn the other way and get quite easily to the Lido and the restaurants there.
We found the suite quite cold. We turned the A/C on full heat but were still quite cold.
All the "dictionary" for the hotel information was on the television. We couldn't navigate it, so had to wait for all the pages to go through their time to get to what we wanted to read about.
There are three restaurants at the hotel, but we never did find out when two of the restaurants were open. To us it seemed that only the buffetrestaurant at the top floor was open.
