Playground outside of the rooms were a good addition to the accommodation.
Rooms were unclean ; toilet seat was loose, curtains hanging off, bed linen on inside out, kettle and fridge stank, shower curtain black on inside, bathroom light broken, balcony was not cleaned and had cigarette ends on the floor.
4.1
Great experience for kids and bunk bed was also fun for the kids with quirky designs
4.1
Kids enjoyed the pirate themed room.
Staff were welcoming on arrival.
Very strong smell of damp in the room.
Uncomfortable beds.
Breakfast was a nightmare in the morning - poorly organised, very low quality. Ran out of milk and just shrugged it off. Seemed annoyed when we requested that they find some for the children's cereal.

We loved the pirate themed room! The kids loved it!

Location was fabulous and the entertainment was fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay :)
The staff in the restaurant could of been better. They all seemed like they were in a world of their own and I just feel like the service from those could of been better. Especially because the receptionist and entertainment team were so good I feel like the restaurant staff let the team down.

Beautiful view

Everything was fantastic , highly recommend
4.1
Good size room
Bugs, wasp nest in lighting, very smelly carpet and urine smell in the bathroom
4.1
Room lovely and clean, very comfortable. Just what we needed for our stay!
4.1
All brand new so very nice and clean etc.
The bathroom is very small. A larger person would struggle to move around in there.
4.1
Great for kids, great location, staff really nice and helpful.
Only 1 thing really took a long time to get served at the bar on the evening when it was busy, but that's been a bit picky really.
4.1
It represented excellent value for money with tea/coffee making facilities, wi-fi and Netflix included and was only a short walk into Matlock Bath.
On suite was a little cramped and their was only a skylight window in the room making it seem a little claustrophobic.

Kids were very happy with the wizard theme room, lovely view out of the window, kettle and a mini fridge with some plates bowls and cutlery. Comfortable and plenty of space for 2 adults 3 children. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Smelt a bit musty, and could of been a bit cleaner. Around 15 dead wasps on the floor by the window.
4.1
The place just seemed really tidy and fresh and clean.
The staff were really kind
The location was BEAUTIFUL
The accommodation was so cosy. The TVs have Netflix too. Showers and bathrooms are clean. Beds are comfy.
The price - worth every penny
They didn’t hesitate to accommodate to some extra requests I made.
It’s a place that you know will be a good memory even whilst you’re there.
The fact that it’s 3 hours away from my house and not a 5 minute drive 😔
4.1
Filthy stinking room and bathroom room with black mould in the shower and the remote control stolen the night before but never told us and still let us stayvthere
The smell, the hair in the bathroom, the mould, the fact we weren’t given the option of another room with a remote control and the price as it wasn’t worthit

Great location and great value for money, I would 100% recommend for family's even if your not going Gulliver's kingdom and just explore matlock.
Everything was great if I had to add anything I would put more options at the bar and restaurant. But perfect for a night away.

I loved the view and the bed was very comfortable, room smelt nice
Wish there was tea bags and milk/coffee for a drink. Other than that everything else was great

We stayed in the princess room, which was located on the ground floor of a building looking like a castle, which was a big hit with the kids. The reception staff were very friendly. We were initially allocated room 15, which wasn't the cleanest, and looked nothing like the one we booked. After speaking to reception, we were moved to room 10, which was lovely and matched the pictures on booking.com. There is a small playground on site with slides as well as evening entertainment.
The rooms are a bit dated and tried, and some require proper cleaning.
4.1
It was very close to gullivers kingdom and there was good parking. Lots for kids to do
The double room was not a double, it was 2 singles pushed together which was unsafe for my child to sleep in. We are still waiting to hear back from booking.com and the accomodation who said they'd get back to us quickly.

Pirate room ticked the boxes for the kids.
Check in was not until 4pm! After driving 3 hours on the road & arriving at the property approximately 2.30pm on a Tuesday, not in half term- We looked like the only customers there. I was told I have to pay more money to check In at 2.30pm. So we got changed in the Car Park instead. Putting profits over customers. The lady at check in with glasses was so unhelpful. Check out was also 10am. Could be considered early too, especially when travelling with kids.

the location was nice
absolutely filthy. we had to ask 3 times to clean our room, especially the toilet - once in reception and twice by other staff. it was done once, the whole room spelt like stale wee - the shower has mould around it & the bin hadn’t even been wiped. unhygienic and disgusting.
4.1
Staff friendly as usual although clear that some were new foe the season. Activities and themed good for the price. However the room was a little disappointing this time. Soiled quilt under the cover. Stained carpet and screws hanging out of the wall at eye level foe children. No tea and coffee pack provided snd ee were given an accessible room fair enough if all that was left ( princess accessible ) but no shower curtain.
Cleanliness of quilt and carpet

the children loved the themed rooms, very comfortable lovely views and great location.
check in times are too late

Great out of season value, lovely, characterful space. Ideal for families.
Can't think of anything.

The upstairs area
The room had a bad smell to like cats wee
4.1
Loved the theme room and the children's bunk beds were really fun. Had everything you needed for a comfortable nights sleep.
The lack of coffee / tea to make a drink in the morning. Would be ideal if this was included but it didn't put a dampener on our day. The hot water also was very very hot and scolded me in the shower. Top tip - turn the shower on first before stepping in to modify the temperature.
