Without doubt the location and the friendly staff
Although it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the stay the decor was a little tired and would benefit from a refurb.
10.0
Its location and the friendliness of the staff
Looking a little tired, but still clean and comfortable

This was a very relaxing place to stay in outstandingly beautiful countryside. Our room was spacious with a lovely view. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good.
Our room on the second floor meant climbing two flights of stairs.

Great location but not sure how this is rated 4 star!
The beds were extremely uncomfortable and decor dated and basic

Our evening meal was much better than I expected: a new 'special' menu included spicy grilled king prawns and roasted monkfish wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of curried lentil dal, and a delicious creme brulee with grilled fig.
No complaints: a very pleasant short break.

Surroundings and the walks straight from the hotel
Although the hotel is dog friendly i personally think dogs should be excluded from the restaurant area.

The meals were superb and all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and well equipped and gave a good view of the gardens and river.
Through an over sight on someone's part we found our room had not been booked in advance but this oversight was quickly remedied and we were quickly allocated a room.

The staff were all really helpful and accommodating, all very friendly. Great breakfast and great location
The decor throughout is a little old and could do with a refresh when finances allow.

The area it was in so tranquil and peaceful ✌️ manager and staff went above and beyond, we were treated so so well going back
Noisy kids, not hotels fault, kids just no respect for other customers

Breakfast very expensive when you consider the room was130ponds T he quality of the smoked salmon poor. The whole place needs massive restoration, a walk in shower rather than shower over bath. The decoration was as cheap as chips. Long way to go to bed a three star hotel.
130 pounds per night, in retrospect 70 pounds would be more than enough out of season,

Everything was exceptional.
Nothing. The whole experience completely exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful scenery and river location. Large room and large bathroom in the roof space. Facilities were a little basic with paper cups and the mattress was good but not a sprung mattress so, too firm for my partner. The shower was minimal but functional - there was not much water coming out of it! However, you just have to laugh as its an old, rustic and charming building and the quirks are part of it. It was clean and well maintained as far as bedding, bathroom carpets and paintwork etc.

Very clean & large room.
Staff gave a friendly warm welcome on arrival.
I really can't think of anything that I could dislike!
It was a very satisfying break.

The location
All of it. Absolutely dreadful.

Location and view from our room was exceptional. Lovely relaxing hotel with very friendly staff. Food was great and kitchen staff were accommodating when I wanted to change chips for mash. Oh and the pie was absolutely tasty and lots of it. We also had two small dogs with us that were very welcomed. Will definitely be back to this stunning location and Hotel.
There wasn't anything that I didn't like.
