Overall decent stay but with some serious inconveniences

Overall the design and the structure of the property and rooms was very nice, rooms are large and well equipped. The location is a little bit far from the center, but it guarantees you calm athomspere (the center is very noisy!).

Unfortunately we has some problems with electricity the first day, black out for several hours, and in particular with the toilet flush that didn't work for 2 days. Staff was kind but wasn't able to fix the problem and it was a little bit embarassing.

Peaceful hotel that’s still close enough to all the action.

Location is perfect - far enough away from the noise of town but everything reachable within a 5 minute walk. Very close to the nicest end of the beach. Cristina is a great host and is extremely attentive via WhatsApp. Kitchen is very well equipped.

Expect that water and wifi can be patchy, but that’s just Holbox in general. Room is very large so was difficult to cool down with just one small aircon.

very cozy place, a home away from home

everything was really great. it is 3 min walking to the beach. the apartment had everything we needed, including a small kitchen. Cristina was very kind. we would definitely stay there again

We stayed twice in Villa Los Mangles and had such a nice time. First time it was room "Algeria" and second time room "Amor". "Algeria" was a big room with everything we needed. "Amor" is a bit smaller but with a huge and private rooftop terrace which is amazing. Villa Los Mangles is located not in the city center which is 15min walking distance. For us no problem at all and as a result it is very quiet there which we enjoyed. All in all we enjoyed the stay very much! Thank you Cristina!

For us no problem but as info: room "Amor" had no stove for cooking (room "Algeria" did). But we did not need it anyway - many nice restaurants are available.

Amazing location and stay

A two minute walk to the beach, ten minutes to the main square,, hammocks to chill in when we didn't want to bake in the sun and the best cocoa moisturiser I've ever used! We had such a pleasant stay at Villa Los Mangles. It was an absolute highlight of our trip and we would stay again if we came back to Holbox.

Wonderful little hotel

Wonderful little hotel in a calm area with less then 5mins to the amazing beach. Our apartment Was super nicely decorated, was cleaned every day and had everything you need for a perfect stay. The lovely Christina welcomed us, gave us amazing restaurant recommendations and helped us with everything. Thank you so much for this wonderful time!!

Exceptional

We had the most incredible stay at Villa Los Mangles. We stayed in the queen studio for three nights and the suite with roof terrace for our last two and both rooms were very spacious, clean and modern. There were beach towels and free drinking water provided, which were a nice touch. The property itself is on the quieter side of the island, but still within walking distance to the beach and town. We loved everything about our stay and will definitely be returning!

Beautiful relaxing and friendly accommodation

Our room had everything we needed to be comfortable. The bed and bedding were of extremely high quality, small touches like the coffee machine (fresh ground coffee provided) and beach towels etc made everything so pleasant. Our top floor room had magnificent views across the tropical mangrove forest, the bird life was fantastic. We arrived on lsla Holbox at the tail end of a massive storm, the sandy streets were under a foot under water and getting around wasn't easy, however Cristina, the host, did everything she could to help us enjoy our time there. We can highly recommend this Guest House to anyone looking for a tropical getaway in a beautiful location.

Such a lovely place!

Cristina is such a great host, very lovely & always happy to help. The appartment is very clean, there is free drinking water and coffee. The kitchen is very well equipped & the bed is super comfy. The beach is just a 2min walk away and the Center with all the Bars and Restaurants about 5-10min. Perfect for everyone who wants to stay in a place that is close to everything but not noisy at all. Would definitely recommend!

Probably one of the best choices in Holbox

The place feels like a safe heaven. The owner is such a nice woman that you feel like staying one more day just to enjoy her company. The room was equipped with a small fridge, a sink, kitchen counter and basic kitchenware and even a drinkable water dispenser, so you can have your meals at home.

Just be aware that the island very often turns into a cellular dead zone and not even the wifi offered by Villa Los Mangles works.

Beautiful accommodation and very friendly hostess

The hostess is super nice and helpful! The accommodation is comfortable, clean and very close to a beautiful more calm part of the beach, and a short walk from the centre with nice restaurants and bars. Our apartment had a well equipped kitchen and nice seating areas inside (cool) and outside.

A quiet and comfortable stay with a great host

The rooms were very clean and well decorated. I liked having a usable kitchen with utensils for two and ended up cooking almost everyday.

The mosquitoes were out this year so the property’s distance off the road meant an extra walk and the mosquitoes were ready! Not a deal breaker though… just walk with a purpose.

Quiet, relaxing and comfortable.

Manolo, the host, was very welcoming and very helpful; he always replied quickly through WhatsApp, ready to help. The hotel is in a very quiet area and 2 min walking from the beach. The room had a fully equipped kitchen and everything looked nice and tidy. I also enjoyed the hammock and ate breakfast in the table outside.

The WiFi is slow and a bit inconsistent, but it works. There were a few mosquito nets on windows that had holes or did not stick closely to the wall, so some mosquito hunting was required every night.

Great stay on nice location. Big downside that electricity would not function regularly

-The location was very nice. Only a few minutes walking from the beach, and walking distance from the center. -The room had everything we wanted. The kitchen was very complete with everything that you would need to cook diner. -Very friendly staff

-We had an accommodation that was shut down for at least 5 times a day from electricity (every time for around 10-15 minutes) this happened while all other accommodations within the hotel did not have that problem. Staff explained that our cabin was getting energy from a different source than the other cabins and they could not fix that. However, this is not our problem as paying guests, and should be made a solution for. This was a big inconvenience for us since most of the outage was during peaktimes (6PM-9PM), with having limited lighting in the dark + no airconditioning -Two dogs (that were lovely by the way) are always on the premises. Not very enjoyable when you want to have diner on your terrace and most of the time a dog will sit next to you and beg for food. If you are a dog person you probably don't see this as a problem, however, if you are not you might find this uncomfortable. Also sometimes the premises smelt like dogpee as they pee all around.

Everything about this place is amazing. The hosts are super kind and helpful being always around if you need anything. The place is beautiful and it is awesome that we could prepare our own breakfast every mourning to enjoy the beautiful garden while eating, thanks to a well equipped kitchen. Very very clean. Highly recommend!

Lovely place to stay

Pleasantly surprised with our room at Villa Los Mangles, it was more of an apartment with a big bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. Staff were very friendly and helpful along with the two lovely dogs that lived there. The garden area with hammocks was a lovely place to get some shade and read a book when it got to hot on the beach. The beach itself is only a 2 minute stroll from the apartment.

Enjoyed our stay

Enjoyed our stay! Location is nice, perfect a little away from the "party center" but walking distance to everything. Host was nice. Terrace was wonderful. Room had fridge, toaster etc.

Some stuff was broken (door handle, shower handle, ..) and room a little "used" but no big deal. Maybe a paper with recommendations for boats, restaurants etc. or recommendations in general would have been nice.

great value

everything was perfect. Cristina really goes beyond to help you. just reach out and ash her for anything location is 10-15 mins walk from the center and 5 min walk to the beach. very quiet at night and Shura (female weimaraner I think) is very friendly during the day but on guard at night

there are mosquitoes everywhere so please be prepared. inside the room is okay because Cristina give you mosquito coil to burn. when outside or walking to the beach, expect some bites.

The staff was exceptional. Cristina and Marc were extremely friendly and helpful. Also, The star was Chura, the dog, which is lovely. We would definitely recommend this place also for its location, cleanliness and facilities.

Lovely little hotel!

My partner and I loved Villa Los Mangles! We stayed in the suite on the top level and loved having the rooftop balcony to ourselves. The room itself had everything we needed and was cleaned daily. It is located a bit away from town but is a short walk or bike ride. You can also rent a bike for 150 pesos per day.

Relaxing place and wonderful staff

Big room, great air conditioning, purified water freely available (a very big pro), clean towels replaced during stay, beach bag and beach towels provided was a lovely touch. Christina was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was brilliant for the beach.

We found there were more mosquitos here than elsewhere on the island, perhaps because it is surrounded by vegetation and it rained a LOT during our stay (so this could be the cause of this). Absolutely not a reason not to stay, it is a wonderful place, just make sure you are prepared and bring mosquito repellent and cover ups!

Nice little hotel in a quiet neighborhood, 1 minute walking distance from the beach

It's a nice and quiet neighboorhood and you can walk everywhere. It's a 1 minute walk to the beach. I felt very safe and cared for. The staff is awesome! The room got cleaned daily, the sheets got changed every couple of three nights and you got fresh towels every second day. I would definitely come back!
