The place is very clean, quiet and the staff is extremely friendly. There is very nice snorkeling just on the beach. The breakfast buffet was a bit dull, but everything else was perfect. Even taking a shower and going to the toilet under open sky (behind closen walls) was an enjoyment for me. I highlt recommend this place if you like a quiet secluded spot to relax.
9.0
The staff friendliness/efficiency/professionnalism
The design of the bungalow (Bali Deluxe)
The garden/settings/view at the resort
The great swimming pool
The breakfast
The location near Klong Mad and its restaurants but quiet
The services available from reception
Nothing really, appart from the fact our stay was too short!

The grounds are beautifully kept. Location is stunningly beautiful. The happy hour cocktails are great. The food in the restaurant is hit or miss.
Apart from the location, however, this resort has taken a drastic turn for the worse. Our room (Bali Hut Seaview) was dark and dated. Not much table/counter space to set things, nor adequate wardrobe/drawers, etc. so we could never really get out of our suitcase. The outdoor bathroom area was a horror. It was infested with several types of ants. The large ones hung around the toilet, under the seat, etc. so when you'd sit down after dark, they'd quickly come bite. But the much worse ones were the small ones that obviously had a nest near the shower. Withing seconds of starting the sour, the would attack our entire bodies. The water from the shower didn't stop them; in fact, it seemed to make it worse. Our entire bodies had bites, some in very sensitive areas. Also, at night, the kids were scared to go out to use the toilet because of the night bees (wasps?) buzzing all over the lights and trying to get into the room. There were also snakes hanging around the restaurant area, but they didn't really bother us. I know it's an island so some interaction with nature is bound to happen, but I've stayed on a lot of resorts on a lot of islands, and this was an extreme experience. Those bungalows are in serious need of renovation and those outdoor bathrooms should be axed.
The other big change since our previous visits to this resort (pre-Covid) was the quality of the breakfast buffet. I remember it being a highlight in the past, but now it's rather pathetic. There was never any bacon. The only breakfast staples offered were pre-cooked fried eggs, hot dogs and some sad looking ham slices. The Thai food offered was also disappointing. Most of the other guests appeared to be Scandanavians and they seemed content just eating toast, but for those of us who travel in Thailand regularly, this breakfast was way below normal standards.

Being a vegetarian, we were afraid of our food, but the staff cooked separately the vegetarian dishes and those were perfect for us. Apart from that there were so many vegetarian dishes in the menu, so it was very convenient for us to dine at the restaurant at a very reasonable price. Penang Curry was very delicious. Dining at sea facing was an enjoyable and relaxation moment.
Bedding in the rooms were not comfortable for us. Seems to be Foam bedding and not very comfortable to sleep.

the Resturant has one of the best food in. the island !!
waking from the villas to the beach and vise verse makes you tired because is it a steep path.
the price is too high though for such rooms.

Great bali bungalow with a comfortable bed and good outdoor shower. We placed the couch outside due to rather uncomfortable outdoor furniture. Kayak for free and decent breakfast.
For 3 night a lot of music from the nearest village.

Thai rooms are lovely and great for families. private beach is really great. This resort is excellent for kids, plenty of snorkeling, rock pools to explore, gardens and grass area to play in and food is excellent!

The location of Koh Kood Beach Resort is perfect if you want to really relax. The pool was perfect for the children and so quite, they had it to themselves a lot of the time. We had a double Villa with plunge pool, this was perfect for a family of four with two older kids. The staff were exceptional, so kind and so friendly. The food was lovely and the sunsets were incredible! To get the most out of the island you really need to be happy to ride a moped, we did not do this as weren’t happy having kids on the back. The resort were happy to order a taxi where ever you wanted to go but this could get expensive.
