The overall let down was the food. I was literally hungry all weekend. Portions not suitable for two adult males. For the price per night, the food was below average.

The game viewing is the best I've ever experienced

Everything. The staff were amazing. Housekeeping came twice daily. Game reserve drives (our guide Ephraim was wonderful). The hotel pampers the customer in every way possible. The views are stunning. The location is serene. The facilities well maintained. We hired a massage which was excellent. (Thank you Witness and the other lady whom I forgot her name). The chef and their staff worked with us to cater to our specific dietary needs. It really was worth splurging to come here and we'd highly recommend. It was the highlight of our memorable trip to South Africa.
The country has power outages - not the fault of the hotel. While the rooms have generators most of the time, for 2-3 hours usually in the middle of the night, the generators don't work. Because of this, the air conditioning can't run which makes the room stuffy. We would have liked to open the windows, but there are are no window screens to allow fresh air in. This is an easy fix and hopefully the hotel will consider this feedback.
It would be nice if the lodge offered a shuttle service from Johannesburg. We were provided names of shuttle services by the hotel and used one of them... but at $300-$350 each way, we believe we overpaid by a lot.

I loved the privacy of our luxury room. The food was amazing, the chefs did the most. The staff were very friendly too. We also enjoyed the service of the mobile spa treatments. The game drives were also good.
My husband and I were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary, it would have been nice to receive a complimentary sparkling wine to spice up our celebration.

This lodge is nothing short of amazing. beautifully built and combining a sense of luxury and comfort. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, and the shower and private pool were simply fantastic.
The staff are the true gem of the lodge - very friendly and extremely accommodating. I have several food restrictions and the chefs themselves would make sure the meal was acceptable before serving. and the food! delicious and inventive. We even had dinner out by the firepit one evening, with food from the braai.
The game drives were absolutely fantastic, with our guide Ephraim doing his best to give us an amazing experience - we got to see lions after a kill, a cheetah, rhinos fighting and elephants up close. Ephraim (and I'm sure this is true about the other guides) is an expert at tracking animals and finding them, and has vast quantities of knowledge about every bird, beast and plant we saw, and was great at sharing it with us. we learned a lot from him and really enjoyed his company.
This was the perfect ending to our South African honeymoon, and we can't wait to come back.

Staff were very welcoming and pleasant! Location excellent if you looking for tranquility and good game viewing! Our guide William was excellent!
First night in the honeymoon suite was exciting. Food served in the room, nice warm bath and rose petal laden bed, what more can you ask for.
Fine dining was actually great as well. Chef's are professional and so was the food.
My pet dislike was a lack of variety for those not eating beef and pork! Fish is not my favorite but had to live with it. Other than that, nothing to dislike!
