Perfectly located right at the beautiful fjord. Room was okish but since I was only for a night it perfectly suited my needs. Nice patio from the restaurant with fjord view. Nice breakfast buffet
Wished to have a little more extensive menu at the restaurant for dinner.

Quiet, good food, good location.

Does the job if you need an overnight in Årdal. You end up close to some really cool things and some great hikes so this is a decent place to spring from… and it’s affordable. Rooms are clean and comfy… albeit dated but the lobby and restaurant are really nice in comparison.
No Elevator… not a big deal, it’s only three floors. Årdal is a forgotten place. The hotel is really the only thing there. The Lobby closes and the entry doors from there stairs get locked. I had to take a family emergency call at 12:30 and didn’t want to disturb my sleeping daughter … thought I could go to the lobby like any other hotel. Totally locked out. Had to sit on the stairs in the stair well… creepy!

Very nice location, with stunning views of the fjord (not from our room though, but from the breakfast room). Tasty breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.
It's easy to tell that the hotel hasn't been upgraded in a while. Some of the facilities are a bit worn (but still clean). And if you get a room near the bar... well, that'll be noisy.

Located right next to the fjord.
BBQ in the garden.
A super market (kiwi) is next to the hotel.
A bit old.

Satisfying facility.

There were no elevator and since I have problems with injuried leg, using stair is a problem.

Easy parking right outside, relaxing atmosphere and very friendly staff. Got a room with view to the sea. Beds a bit soft but comfortable. Breakfast quite basic, but that might be because little tourists (Covid 19 -times). That said, everything you need for a good start of the day incl. bacon/scrambled eggs on request. TV with International channels like BBC and CNN. Totally very happy with our stay (one night).
WiFi a bit slow/unstable, but guess that can depend on the room location and can be easily improved. Not really an issue.

Nice little town and a well presented hotel.
The cooked breakfast was cold. Very disappointing

We chose Klingenberg hotel because of its convenient location (close to a hike we were doing the following day along Utla river) and supposedly fjord view. Note half of the rooms overlook a parking lot and not a fjord. The reception and restaurant area were clean and warm.
Whilst the hotel facilities are progressively being brought up to the 21st century standard, the rooms are seemingly being preserved as a forecoming piece of national heritage. That’s all charming until you realise you are being charged a four-star hotel rate for a glorified motel room atop a gloomy pizzeria (which the receptionist was proud to say is the only ‘restaurant’ in town). The breakfast was okay nevertheless and got us on our jolly way to the next step of our travel where we rejoiced at not having to look at a parking lot outside the window any longer. We won’t be posting pictures of the stains throughout the room and bathroom for we believe the above description should be self-explanatory. How this place was fully booked when we visited remains a mistery.
