The breakfast was OK - nothing special. Our friends were disappointed to find that they could not get a cup of orderinary tea - only Rooibos.
Our room was comfortable, but we were disappointed that there was no shower - only a bath. Also, instant coffee was provided in the room - but there were no teaspoons! Small things matter.

Location. Spacious room and bathroom.
Outside areas could be cleaner. Outdoor furniture needs replacing. Breakfast offering could be more generous.

The staff was absolutely fantastic and accommodated our every need and request. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
There was a little water damage in the room, which caused a little mold. But nothing a little renovation can't fix

Kakamas Country Hotel was very convenvenient for our visit to Augrabies Falls. It is in a lovely location surrounded by vineyards fed by water from the Orange River scheme. Nice room, frindly staff and a comfortable bed with plenty of hot water on cold nights. It was re-assuring that they had a big generator so the curse of South Africa, 'load shedding' did not affect us.
The pool water was a bit cold! It is however winter!!

Does not come across as a 4-star hotel.
Anyone would expect more from a 4-star hotel, for instance, the breakfast buffet had 3 apples and no other fruit, some standard cold cereal, no warm oats for a cold morning, one type of cheese (grated cheddar), sliced bread, and the poached eggs came swimming on my plate in water.
Maybe there is a shortage of staff too, judging by the check-in experience. Guests don't normally have to ask where to park, where to find their rooms, what time breakfast is served, etc.

So we checked in and went ro our room, just had a bath and left because we were in kakamas for a funeral. We got back late at night and slept. The Friday we got up had breakfast and left again. When we returned at 10pm we went to use the toilet the toilet was blocked and the water was standing right to the brim of the pan. I thot it was going to overflow. My husband then went to the reception and found this friend gentleman who was working night shift. He kindly changed our room. The service was great. The staff was friendly. I always checked in Kakasnas hotel when I visit family in the Norrthern Cape. I will recommend it to guests who needs accomodation in Kakamas. A big Thank you to the kind gentleman working night shift. Running around making funeral arrangements and coming back to just bath and sleep and having a blocked toilet was not a problem we needed. Service again was on point. Thank you.
Although we only had breakfast once, I think a little more effort should be taken while making the breakfast.

The location was easy to find and gave easy access to the surrounding tourist attractions. The staff were always helpful, especially Christo who helped us re-plan our itinerary when we found out that Augrabies National Park was closed due to the floods. The pool is small but we enjoyed using it after hot days out and about. The rooms were clean, safe and comfortable.
The rooms we were given are right next to the bar and restaurant, so we were disturbed by the noise from the conference participants on the first night. The rooms are in need of redecorating following a leaking roof; the dripping paint look was disconcerting. The dinner menu is limited for vegetarians, this could easily be improved.

Food excellent waitress and night manager great
Room near outside dinning area and there was a huge party going on of a table of about 12 Germans. Very noisy.
They should have the outside dinning area in a different location

This was a lovely hotel with nice grounds, swimming pool and a good restaurant/bar. A short drive away from Augrabies Falls the following morning so we could visit nice and early. Room was comfortable and quiet too. Much nice than staying in Upington.
