Nicely situated in beautiful area
Plugs not working, lights not working no back up electricity. Little to do for kids. Place is falling apart. Does not look great. No back up blankets. Manager screaming at staff on check out. Unpleasant

Comfortable chalet with air conditioning in both rooms. Lovely views on the Orange river and good facilities for functions. Deck restaurant and bar-area really lovely. Good value for money.
One bathroom / toilet was challenging with 4 adults sharing the unit. Rather small and basic. Limited seating on the patio of the unit we had.

Lovely views on the Orange river! We attended a lunch function and the food was really good.
The chalet was comfortable, but only one bathroom / toilet was a bit challenging for 4 adults sharing.

The location next to the river was fantastic!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good check-in and good restaurant at reasonable prices.
The tents were comfortable, clean and included towels.
The ablution blocks were in good condition with lovely hot showers.
We only had 1 cup between 2 people.

It was so peaceful, waking up with the river water rumbling and drinking coffee looking at the view.
The shower door didn't open and close smoothly. And we were at a wedding at a other venue and when we returned we could park in front of our room as the other to rooms next door on both sides parked in front of there rooms and not the designed parking.

We took a break with our family to spend time with our kids, who is in Bloemfontein in school. We are from Kathu and don't see them so often. There was a massive party in the main dining area and was of limits, which is not a problem. The problem was that they give as a room next to this facility. The music went on till 02:00 in the morning. We did not sleep at all!! I feel the owners must firstly not make this units available in this case on Bookings.com. Secondly there must be at least a cut off time for playing load music. I would not recommend Oranje Rust over a weekend - maybe there is a big function again???

The staff at the restaurant was friendly and helpful....the food was to die for. Most delicious steak I ate in years, cooked perfectly as asked for.
The price for the chalet was disappointed.

We did not realize that the restuarant was going to be closed. We were lucky we had gone groceryshopping before and had our campercar so we could make us something to eat.
