Pepper Trail exceeded our expectations in terms of luxury and attention to detail by every single member of the staff. From the way that the heritage Mackenzie suite has been 'lovingly restored' with handpicked furniture and decor to the landscaping and green cover of plantations, the quality of food and hot beverages served to the conversations with nature experts on the property, we truly lapped it all up. Most of all, we appreciated the key ingredient of thoughtfulness they added to create a memorable and comfortable stay for us.
The only suggestion we'd have is for the restaurant to enable an à la carte option in the menu for those who may not need as much quantity as served per person within the fixed set. That would help in reducing food waste too!

I think the booking needs to have an option to book similar rooms

The service was excellent, everyone was very helpful and friendly. The chef is excellent, all meals were delicious! Loved the plantation drive too.
I felt the plantation villa needed something more. The room felt too sanitised as if we were not in the middle of a plantation.

The best place for resting. Amazing pool, super helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in the treehouse and it was so relaxing, watching all the birds, monkeys and squirrels was the peak of our stay. Gayathri was an amazing naturalist who shared so much knowledge, we were very grateful for her!
They are expanding the lake which seemed very unnecessary and damaging to nature. It seems as though the property is trying to expand and it could lose it’s charm. Please don’t become a resort!

An exquisitely enchanting property that makes you feel close to nature! We were completely mesmerised by our beautiful Villa with a private pool amidst the plantation. The interiors are wonderful and the location is breathtaking. It seemed like the most serene, luxurious and peaceful place on earth! I had booked this place for 1 night for my mothers birthday and she loved it here. I can’t wait to revisit with my husband. The property is extremely private and is perfect for couples. We also enjoyed the plantation safari and our guide was nice too. He explained everything really well. We also had a delicious breakfast. The housekeeping staff was also very helpful.
One night is not enough to spend here. If we didn’t have our flight back we would have surely loved to extend our stay. There are monkeys at the property but they didn’t bother us at all. What we loved the most is how wonderfully each Villa is made with attention to detail and the surrounding it offers. It is truly remarkable.
There are 3 major flaws at this property.
1. Our bed was filled with ants. The housekeeping staff had to come to our room and change the bed sheets TWICE in one day. They informed us that the ants were falling from the ceiling. We then asked them to cover the top of the bed with a sheet too.
2. The second flaw is a major flaw for food lovers. The hotel only provides set menus on preorder which gives you no choice to eat what you want and when you want it. When I called the hotel before arrival they asked me if we will be having lunch and informed us about the lunch timing. we said no. But when we reached the hotel we felt hungry and wanted to have lunch. We were informed that even though it is lunch time we cannot get food cause they had only cooked for one other guest. They had limited items to offer, so we had to choose peanut masala, fries and a soup for lunch from snack items. If they had informed us that we wouldn’t get lunch if we said no for lunch on the call in the morning we would have eaten elsewhere on our way to hotel. Hence while visiting make sure you pre decide your meals here. I strongly recommend the hotel to add more options for guests who want to order spontaneously.
3. While booking our stay a month prior I had pre booked and paid extra for a candle light dinner at the Villa. The resorts sales office is in Chennai. There seemed to have been a miscommunication as when I spoke to Joyce from their team, over the one month I asked her for the menu and if I could pre decide the dinner menu several times. She told me that they had a set menu that changes daily so I could only speak with the chef upon check in. Couple days prior to arrival, she gave me the resorts direct contact and I spoke with the manager there. He also told me that menu changes daily and I can speak to the chef upon arrival.

Had an absolutely incredible stay. The location, the room, the view, the peace, the staff, the food, everything was exceptional. We stayed in the pool villa, it is unbelievably good. The pool is temperature controlled and the view from the pool is to die for. The food is great and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Just walking around the property is stunning and very calming. The place is super peaceful and ideal for a romantic getaway.
