I travelled with my Spouse and her parents who were having major problem with their feet, however the entire staff - Reception, Housekeeping (namely Sunil and his lady supervisor), Mr Srivsatava - The Chef etc never made us to feel a single point of concern. Extremely customer centric and very high problem solving approach, made our stay extremely relaxed and enjoyable. Thanks to all of them
Nothing to my knowledge

Stay and hospitality
Food and overpriced

It felt quite exclusive and private. There's only 8 cottages (although they're in the process of building more). Rooms are spacious. Also the number of unique birds we spotted was unbelievable.
1. No experiences to speak of beyond a plantation walk. Not a cooking class. No star gazing, no anything. The coffee roasting session was a sham. Everything is centred around the lodge or in your room. Nothing to make use of their wonderful property.
2. Hospitality: Their staff is hardworking but absolutely impersonal, uncaring, lacking in warmth, and untrained. This is more, in our view, thanks to their management. Even with only 8 cottages, they didn't bother with a decent welcome, finding anything about the guests or offering any personal touches, as you expect for the price you pay.
3. The food: Boring, repetitive, limited with no local fare (esp in the nights). You are forced to choose from these random printouts without prices and get slapped with a fat bill at checkout.
4. Accessibility: not friendly for senior citizens.
The front guest-manager who we met only at checkout seemed to recognise and acknowledge all these issues but did nothing about it. Instead they'll fix them but for the "next time". As if that would make up for our current experience and like we'd ever stay here again.
Overall, they overpromise and underdeliver. They have much to learn from groups like CgH on hospitality. They're severely overpriced for their current service, experience and food. If only they paid as much attention to their guests as they do to branding or their social media.

Colonial style exquisite property with lovely views of mountain tops and coffee plantations. Clean rooms, wonderful staff.

Everything was fine; the food needs improvement.
The food and they need to have a few more hands in housekeeping and F&B.

It's a nice place to come and unwind yourself and live. Its a beautiful estate and very well looked after. IT Gives you the glimpse of colonial times.
The staffs were friendly
The rooms were nice and clean.
The directions to reach the estates is very confusing. There is no proper board for directions and also the roads are not good when your reaching there.
The food is very very expensive and not worth the price so if staying there please watch out for the prices . The food taste was also not at all good.
Too less options for food varieties.

Quaint place. Lush greenery and melodious chirping of birds throughout the day were very refreshing. The room and bathroom were very spacious. Open air restaurant and bonfire under the stars was much enjoyed. Hike through the coffee plantation was great. If you are looking for a place far from the madding crowd, a peaceful place to relax and return rejuvenated - Old Kent is the place for you :)
Spa facilities were not operational

Really nice place. Really nice people. My stay was so clam and peaceful. A much needed break that I needed. Went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and the staff made all efforts to make it so special. The food, the stay, everything was really great. Will definitely want to visit again.

The property seems to be frozen in time, just takes you back to the British era..dont expect this as a five star property like taj tamara orange county, but you can expect it as a five star family run home stay .. the rooms are very spacious with just everything you need, i didn’t expect a tv in such an amazing property amidst coffee plantation, but trust me we didn’t watch there was soo much more to experience here, everyroom comes with a small garden you could sit in your room and watch the birds butterfly outside its like having a bedroom and a drawing room in one place . Westayed for 3 days and still we fell short on time ..
we loved the food, usually the menus are set but sometimes you can order ala cart too..
the staff is always there to help you ,special mention to mubarak at front desk very helpful and always ready with a solution..
the bathrooms are soo big with bath tub ,jacuzzi ( in only two rooms you can ask for one such room) and foot bath tub .. the whole experience is just amazing..
Remember you are in to the wild amongst the plantation which just looks like tropical rainforest , there could be insects or lizards in your room ( though the housekeeping always checks and keeps it clean) u might spot reptiles aswell but thats how it is suppose to be ..
the evening guided walk in the coffee plantation was an experience to experience, you can see how coffee cardamom black pepper grows .. its highly recommended..
The food is very delicious dont spend your time and money to eat outside , you will love it here ..
It was my birthday and it was really made special by the whole family at kent estate .. honestly you will never feel like leaving .. so dont give it a second thought just go with this place ..

1.The cottages are fabulous. The entire estate is very well maintained and offers a lot to explore in the wilderness.
2. The washrooms are huge and has a good bath tub. The private garden and lush green foliage aroumd is fabulous.
3. The plantation tour coordinated by Mr. Sampath is enriching.
1. The food is really disappointing. The options are very limited and the taste of food is just bad. I would expect this type of food in a budget 2 star restaurant, not a property where I am paying for a luxury experience. We had opted for a package including breakfast and dinner with our stay and regretted the decision thoroughly.
2. There is no one to guide you at the entrance of the property. We (other guests staying at the property also shared similar experiences) did not find any security guard at the entrance of the estate, nor was anyone available at the reception to check us in. We had to literally go inside the restaurant kitchen and fetch someone to help us check in. Premium experience? Not much!
3. The cottage door lock was not worling. We had to call in the maintenance guy twice during our 2 day stay.
4. On the day of checkout we had requested for breakfast to be served 30 mins early than the usual 8 AM and we were specifically confirmed on the night before that it would be taken care of. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30, as suggested, and were told that the request could not be taken care of and we would need to wait till after 8 if we wanted to have breakfast.
Overall, although the cottages and the estate are fabulous, there is lack of basic management at the property. Value for money is 2/5, if you consider the experience we have had at other proprties at this price. The staff is not well trained. Very basic etiquettes are missing, this is run like a homestay which lacks personal touch and good management. This place has the potential to provide an awesome experience but doesnt live up to that.
