About this apartment rental
This luxury 2nd floor apartment was just remodeled with the highest quality and craftsmanship, and furnished with beautiful rich leather decor. The Tropic Shores apartments are a quiet, lushly landscaped 16-unit complex and one of the finest properties in Carpinteria.
Your luxury apartment is located steps away from one of the the nicest beaches in California. Step on the sand and turn right, and you'll enter a beach area where you can enjoy a leisurely walk on a beautiful uncrowded beach. Tropic Shores Apartments are located 200 yards from the best beach in Carpinteria, and directly across from the Salt Marsh Park area.
The town of Carpinteria is pretty small, measuring approximately 1 mile square. There are at least fifty restaurants, and many cute little shops, all within easy walking of your apartment. If you're not familiar with "Carp", I recommend you plan a couple hours for a leisurely walking tour of the town. We all have our favorite places and I'm sure you'll find a few of your own. Carpinteria beaches are the highlight, and we have the best beach a couple minute walk from your door. If you plan to hang around Carpinteria, you can literally leave your car parked the entire stay. You can walk almost anywhere in "Carp" in about 20 minutes...30 minutes max. I recently took a full walk of the town, from our door, through town, to the state parks and beach, and home again...and it took 50 minutes. There's also a local trolley bus which you can ride for fun, or if your feet get a little tired. For traveling North to Santa Barbara or Solvang, or South to Ventura or Los Angeles, you will need your car. Amtrak also departs from the Carpinteria station, only a 10 minute walk away.

The place is very nice and family and pet friendly but the parking and noise is an issue. A block from the beach is a major plus plus. Enjoyed

I stayed 5 days at Tropical Shores and it was relaxing and restful. My apartment, #12, was beautifully decorated and just tranquil.
Tropical Shores is just steps from the beach; it's just the perfect place to come to be close to the beach and still have quiet.

This property is amazing for its proximity to the beach. It is also a luxurious apartment to stay in. The kitchen and baths were especially beautiful. Everything was super clean and very comfortable for our family. The owners were wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend them. I can't wait to go back again next year, if not sooner!! Carpinteria is a great place to visit and this apartment is the perfect spot to enjoy it from!!

This property is just as advertised! Newly remodeled and updated units in a great location across the street from a nature preserve and literally steps from Carpinteria State Beach. What a great find! Thank you, Mike and Elena, for your hospitality.

The property was as promised. It was clean when we arrived. Coffee and some condiments were provided. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and cookware. This is a quiet community and all the front doors/windows face a small courtyard and each other.
Short walk (under 5 minutes) to the beach. Saltmarsh right across the street was neat and we got to see several sharks and stingrays swimming below the bridge. Beach is sandy but there is a lot of seaweed in the water(this beach more than others). I recommend bringing a small bottle of baby oil to remove any oil that may stick to your feet. Although the owner did provide oil removing disposable cloths, I liked the smell of baby oil. My son and husband wore wetsuits as they found it more comfortable if they were in the water for extended periods (several hours) otherwise water was great.
My only con is I wish there was a dry push mop or standard broom to clean the floors as they did get very sandy. There is a broom and dustpan set but at 5'6 I was too tall to comfortably use it.
I would recommend this property and stay here again.

My wife & I spent a long weekend relaxing in Carpinteria, delighted that we found this property. The apartment is gorgeously and recently remodeled to a high standard, from the well-appointed kitchen and premium beds to the crisply tidy bathrooms and tasteful decor throughout. The hosts live in one of the units of this entirely renovated 14(?)-unit two-story apartment building, and they are clearly meticulous about maintaining a neat, manicured appearance on the property to create a hotel-like experience for their quests. Their communication and availability is first-rate. The location at the northern edge of town keeps it quiet, and the beach is a short half block away. Yes, you can hear the surf at night! Beach access here also happens to be the divide between the city beach to the south and the dog-friendly beach to the north. Our dog was in heaven chasing tennis balls up and down the beach every day. Note leashes are officially required, but local lore says citations are very rare. We saw lots of well-behaved, social dogs on the beach running off-leash along with ours. Besides enjoying the view on the beach across to the Channel Islands and the spectacular sunsets, we did a rewarding though strenuous hike to Inspiration Point high above Santa Barbara, and had a lovely SUP paddle around the Santa Barbara yacht harbor. We frequented the Lucky Llama for their wonderful coffees, and had delicious take out from Siam Elephant. Carpinteria is a laid back, quintessential California beach town without the tourist crush you see in places like Pismo. Grab a Boogie board and check it out!

Great property in an unbeatable location
My family had such a great stay here. Beautiful kitchen with new appliances and granite counters, fully stocked with food and supplies in the cabinets and the refrigerator, including four kinds of sugar. Everything is very clean and modern. Two blocks from the beach, with the dog beach to the right and the other to the left. The bathrooms included packets of tar remover and makeup remover. Beds are comfortable and spring-free. Quiet building in January.
