Excellent location. walking distance to many nice restaurants.
Room was never cleaned or bedclothes changed over the duration of seven days. Room was close to kitchen and dining area and exit to rear courtyard. Therefore it was a little noisy at times.

I really liked the cleanliness and good layout of the common areas. Upon entering the residence, you meet Paula, who will explain everything to you so that you feel very happy that you chose them.
Everything was in place, exceeded what was described.

stuff replied fast and was helpful.
do not book the room with balcony, it’s opening facing the main road. it gets unbelievable noisy whole night, especially the Saturday night. I ended up getting sick next day. mike communicated with owner she would agree to change a room, which was super disappointed. I had to suffer another night, don’t see human sympathy from this house.

Great location
Room shook when every car came past, busses woke us up. - worse than normal Mexican city noise.
Curtains don't cover wondow, street light right outside.
Very hot - no fan
Very odd setup, I think this is a permanent place for students which they rent out a spare room. So Very odd vibe.
Not like the photos at all, we would not stay again.

wonderfully helpful staff, Stefano was great! the kitchen and bathroom facilities were fab and the location was excellent! loved that we had allocated fridge and cupboard spaces. the outside space is lovely too!
The ceiling fan in the room needs sorting out. It was incredibly loud and rickety and shook so much when it was on that it didn’t feel safe. We chose to sleep without it which meant it was very hot and there was a lot of street noise.

I love the cleanliness and thoughtful decoration of the rooms. I especially love the balcony with the mural. Having access to free spring water was a huge plus. There is an amazing and cheap vegan restaurant downstairs. The kitchen also has plenty of room for each resident to store items in the fridge and bottom cabinets.
The only issue was with some individual guests who did not always respect house rules. The staff are amazing! Most guests were cool. However a couple guest has problems remembering to properly flush a toilet and not leave a mess in the kitchen sink. This had nothing to do with the staff or property itself - they are awesome and kept things clean.

Good sized room. Hot shower. Great location. Host we met when we arrived was nice. Clean bedding and towels. Not much street noise being set back from the road.
We had a room with an internal window so wouldn’t have stayed if we’d had known before hand, pictures definitely catfished us. No natural daylight and a super hot room because of it, so had to have the door open most of the time, so also no privacy. Other guests were noisy, woken up at 4am one night and early morning, daily. The hinges on ALL the doors creek, you know exactly when other people are leaving and arriving to their room, a little oil would be *chefs kisses*

Very disappointed with the unprofessional management overall.
I reserved a room that apparently was double-booked but even after a long-winded apology during check-in about "this never happens", the management didn't follow through with cancelling my reservation on Booking.com & I need to arrange a refund.
Also, the staffer who received me said I would be provided a voucher for a complimentary breakfast item from the adjoining café to make up for the inconvenience but 48 hours later, I have been unable to reach "Paola" & no one has reached out to me about said voucher.
I was looking forward to staying here but these back-to-back omissions have me wondering whether I dodged a bullet & whether other guests have faced a similar pattern of neglect.
Very disappointed with the unprofessional management overall.

This was the second time I stayed at Casa Matia, and just like the previous time, I had a fantastic stay! Wonderful staff, clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed, good working WiFi, hot showers and located in my favourite area of Guadalajara. Loved the vegan restaurant and bought a few Christmas presents at the Matia Boutique. Muchas gracias por todo!

The best thing about this accomodation is the location. It is located within the fancy neighbourhood of Americana while the centre of Guadalajara can be reached easily. The beds are quite comfortable, the Wi-Fi is okay and the showers and bathrooms are kept clean. The pink room with the balcony is very comfortable. Moreover if you are into vegan food the accomodation is located above a vegan restaurant serving amazing tacos.
There are some things that can be improved. We only received 2 towels for a stay of 10+ days and when asking for more we were told that normally you only receive 2 towels. The sponge in the kitchen wasn't changed and thus was very dirty. Also the towel in the kitchen could have been changed. The fridge also contained one tray where food was rotting away, presumably left there by guests who left. If these small things are improved we would give a 10.

The location was good, not far from the Centro histórico. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The bed was comfy.
Very noisy dog that was basically a metre from my window half the night barking non stop. It's on a roof adjacent to the building. Very noisy ceiling fan that rattles. The road isn't super busy but every 5 minutes a big loud bus goes by and the whole building shakes like an earthquake. With the noise from the dog and the road i barely slept and I'd be woken every morning at 5am when the buses start. No curtain over the door to the balcony so the room is lit up at night and again when the sun comes up.

Casa Matia is such a lovely place! It has great energy and gives you the feeling of being at home or staying with a friend. Paula and everyone else I've met were wonderful and kind. The lobby area is very inviting with a comfortable sofa, lots of pillows, books and plants. There is a well equipped kitchen you can use and they provide free drinking water. Multiple bathrooms and a little shop and salon. Oh, and they give yoga classes too! About once a month they organize a bazar with artisanal handicrafts, vintage clothing, beer and good vibes! I stayed for 1 week in the green room, which was clean, good working wifi, nicely decorated and had ample space to store my belongings. Comfortable mattress and pillows, and a beautiful large window.
There's a great little vegan restaurant located under Casa Matia that I can highly recommend.
The whole area is quite nice. Many wonderful restaurants and easy to walk to the main sights. I felt very safe here and will definitely come back!
