When they say they are dog friendly they really mean it.
Sound proofing between rooms could be a bit better. We had noisy neighbours one night.
4.5
Great stay in stylish accommodation and really friendly/helpful staff.
Dogs made very welcome.
Car parking not on site

Lovely staff, pretty room, great food and service and I love that you welcome dogs
My room was above the breakfast room so the sound of chairs and tables was really loud. I wish I’d been given a quieter room as I needed my sleep.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the decor was really nice and it felt very inviting. Room was lovely as was bed.
Could not fault any thing , keep up the good work.

Nice clean room, comfy bed and modern shower room.
Lovely breakfast selection.
Room was on the small size but it was advertised as 'cosy'.
Pity no parking on site but again we were aware of this when we booked

Excellent standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Our 3rd stay in this hotel and we would definitely return again. Nicely furnished rooms, very comfortable bed, nice bathroom and very fluffy towels.
This is a very small niggle, but the toiletries could be replenished for a 2 night stay - we had run out of shower gel by our 2nd morning.

Amazing breakfast, the sausages were unreal!
Lovely room, well decorated, comfy beds and great shower!
Dinner in the hotel also very good. And bonus free G&T was a lovely touch.
wasn't clear where to check in, weren't any staff members around at the time. Once I found someone in the breakfast area, she was lovely and explained everything well.

Nice decor
They charged me xtra for my Peter and didn’t serve us hot breakfast or pastries on the second day

Totally was what we were expecting. However I felt some of the staff could have been more helpful. But served its purpose.
The attitude of some of the serving staff. We almost felt we were an inconvenience.

We stayed at the Bear Hotel for two days while attending my nephew's wedding. The hotel was charming, the staff were all very nice and super helpful. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. My only complaint was that they did not have luggage racks upon request. In the room we stayed in there was no surface in the room that was large enough for even a small suitcase. I think we may have had one of the smaller rooms in the Inn, so with two suitcases on the floor there was barely room to walk around the bed and it felt like a bit of an obstacle course.
Provide luggage racks upon request.

Good beer sold. Very good dinner and breakfasts. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Had to ask for non-slip mat in shower, which was quickly provided and clearly an oversight.
4.5
Breakfast was reasonable, staff needed to be asked to provide spoons for muesli and top up yoghurt on both days, but were friendly and overall efficient and quick.
The room was very nice and comfortable, great bathroom with walk in shower and “traditional“ bath tub, all very clean and welcoming!
The room faced the roadside and was a little noisy, but very quiet during the night. Window couldn’t be opened very much and therefore room was quite hot.

Newly renovated. Lovely style rooms. They differ in size quite considerably by the looks of things. Dog friendly throughout.
Food was fantastic. Really helpful smiley staff.
There was no options on pillows. I had 2 fat pillows and end sleeping using a towel instead.

Linda, the manager, could not have been more helpful. The room was quite small but very well appointed and the hotel itself had clearly been refurbished to a high standard. The fact that all the rooms were named after famous bears was a great touch. The location was perfect for our visit to Monkey World.
Staff were efficient but not particularly warm or welcoming. The breakfast choices were good but several times requests for soft boiled eggs arrived hard.
4.5
Lovely accommodation, delicious breakfast and evening meal. We found all the staff to be friendly and very helpful. We all look
forward to going back.

The service and choice of breakfasts were excellent. The full English breakfast was rather large.
The room was a bit small.

It was a very hot week and the room got very hot There was a fan but it was still too hot.A

The hotel is in a great location on the high street and seems to have been recently refurbished (June 2023) -
the bathrooms were of a very high standard. Breakfast was very good quality, but you have to order everything, there is no buffet choice. The bar is small but stylish and cosy, and staff are very friendly.
There is no car park, and there is no notification of this or directions to car parks on the booking notification.

Lovely location
Great letting me check in late due to work
Fantastic g and t on arrival
Comfortable bed and peaceful room
Great shower, with good pressure
Most of breakfast
Breakfast egg was rock hard. Staff were more interested in talking to each other about places to go out at night and festivals. Not interested.
However, other staff were fantastic

Quality and affordability of evening meals and a spacious room.
More vegetarian choices on the menu would have been nice.

it was all great
4.5
Friendly small hotel, central to shops, restaurants and pubs.
The breakfast service could be a bit more organised. Several things on the menu were unlimited but you had to keep asking. Would be better to put out what is unlimited, so people can help themselves.

Room was clean

central location, nice decor, comfortable by not stuffy.

Rooms are incredibly well decorated and named after various bears. We were in Rasputin and it was very comfortable. Beds were very comfy to sleep in. Shower room and toiletries were lovely to use.
The Full English breakfast was fabulous and the Smoked Salmon and Scrambled Egg on toast was amazing. Staff polite and helpful and quick to serve us once we were seated. Breakfast room is beautiful and well decorated.
Spent the evening in the bar sampling the cocktail menu and the following night in the restaurant. We were well looked after and would definitely stay there again.
4.5
Traditional town-centre inn stylishly renovated. Good food, including breakfast. Friendly welcome and service.
Room somewhat cramped, and could have been better equipped. Food served only in noisy bar during our stay.

Central location brilliant. Breakfast was exceptional great choices staff friendly and helpful.
