After reading the reviews to for this place I was very concerned about booking but I went ahead and did anyways as nothing else was available for my needs.
The place was clean enough but wasn’t great. It seems like they cleaned after there last occupant but then didn’t come back again before we booked. The beds where made and clean but the floors were fine but there were dead bugs in the bathroom and part of the kitchen counter was dirty. Additionally, I found two love scorpions inside during our stay and there where many spiders on the kitchen ceiling. I’m not sure how much they can midigate insect pest control in a desert area like this but it seems like a regular flower clean would help the situation.
The check in and out process was not great. I got a message to pick up keys at a different location alshortly after booking. I asked if I could come early and they answered me

The AC was not on when we arrived; it was 86 degrees downstairs and hotter in the bedrooms upstairs. There were dead bugs all over the floors, general cleanliness was very poor, floors were obviously not vacuumed or swept. Counter tops and furniture were dusty and dirty throughout the house. Wifi wasn’t hooked up properly and was very slow when we got it working. Charcoal grill had trash and cigarette butts in it; had to clean it out before using. Had to wash off the patio furniture before using. There were no dish towels, washcloths or paper towels in the kitchen. Found a random spoon in the ice maker. The ice maker and fridge were dirty. The upstairs shower was either hot or cold water, nothing in the middle. The upstairs bedrooms were on the edge of too warm for sleeping. The buttons on the remote control were sticky, making it hard to watch TV. There was no large trash can to put bags of house garbage into. There were no instructions or check in/out directions given via email or found in the house. The close proximity to Sequoia National Park Ash Mountain Entrance was convenient and there is a very good frozen yogurt shop (Three Rivers Yogurt) close by, but would never stay here again

Nice house
This house has a lot of space and was very clean. It was difficult to find due to be located off a side road - this should be specifically described on the website. We had a lot of difficulty contacting the host, as he did not respond in a timely fashion to messages via VRBO on the day of check-in, did not send any check-in information, and initially gave us the wrong phone number. He also did not provide any check-out instructions so we weren't sure what to do with linens, trash, etc.

Very Poorly Prepared for Guests
I was disappointed with the accommodation. The house wasn’t very clean in general.
As examples, the carpet was somewhat dirty and when we arrived there were centipedes on the carpet in the upstairs bedroom. There are cobwebs in the kitchen. The sheets and towels smell dirty. We also found garbage (such as old cardboard) and dirty rugs in the garage. Other things were found out of place upon arrival.
We found the house poorly equipped for guests. For example, there weren’t any plates provided in the kitchen (there were some plates in a dining set placed in the dining room, but no plates in the kitchen).
Additionally there were zero spoons provided in the kitchen- there were forks and knives but no spoons to be found despite the owner’s insistence they were there.
We also found that there was no kitchen island as advertised. There was only a dining table that was right next to the toilet.
The refrigerator was poorly functioning for us. Our food and drinks took two days to get remotely cold. We had to leave our food in the coolers. It was also disappointing that there were no condiments provided in the kitchen other than oil, sweet rice oil and iodized salt.
There was a lack of towels and no washer/dryer so we couldn’t wash any dirty towels. Honestly, a hotel would have been better than this place. I agree with previous reviews that it isn’t worth the money.

Nice location but few issues with the house
1.> there is no toilet papers
2.> kitchen sink is leaking
3.> the bathroom sink by the dining area is clogged
4.> the driveway is a little steep up hill so need to be careful
other than the above, the house is nice and good location near the park.

Not worth the price
I’m usually not one to complain, but after paying the highest price by far for a weekend (2 nights), I couldn’t help myself....
Kitchen had dirty dishes in the cabinets for starters, especially a frying pan that looked like it was pulled out from the dirt in the back yard, which I’m sure you’ll still find there cause I left it there in hopes that the owner sees it. The beds are dented in the middle, especially the master bedroom, that i came to find out is completely broken and was “half ass fixed” by putting a brick under it to hold it up, which obviously didn’t work. There was a scorpion on the carpet that was killed by someone (it was smashed) and just left there. The heater vent in the master bedroom made noise every time it turns on which woke us up every time.
Oh and I have pictures in case the owners try to clean this up.

I would
I don’t think this house is well prepared to receive guests.
We rent vacation homes every year, sometimes twice a year and this one was pretty mediocre, by a long shot. We had issues with this 3 bedroom 3 night vacation home rental from the start.
From the beginning , the communication with the owner was really bad, he never messaged me with any type of instructions as it’s usually expected and when I messaged him I barely got his phone number, picking up the key was awkward as by the time we got there we hadn’t received any kind of information, we got to the house kind of late at night with tired kids and we had to drive back to pick up the key at a hotel. The house was in a nice neighborhood surrounded by nature, that was something we were looking for.
The house was as advertised, big enough for our party. That was accurate.
Master bedroom’s bed was very uncomfortable, really bumpy.
Cleanliness was not the best, linens, throw pillows and couches were smelly as if they were not washed recently. There was also what looked to be bloodstains on a blanket my kids used and didn’t noticed until the second day.
Floors were not as clean which was really important for us since we had a crawling baby with us. These types of places are usually stocked with at least the essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms but this one was completely out of them. Kitchen cabinets were totally empty, just a couple of pans and glasses, the only pan I got was moldy and a bowl I tried to use was dirty, so I avoid using anything in the house, luckily I brought my own kitchen stuff and disposable plates and cutlery.
There was barely enough toilet paper to last us one full day and when I made the request to the owner, he brought some right away.
Honestly, I would not recommend renting this house until they assure you its well prepared to receive guests.

Nice Property But Many Issues
The home is spacious, well kept, and located close to Sequoia National Park. For those reasons I would have given it 4 to 5 stars if were not for a multitude of other issues. This is roughly the 30th property my family and I have rented which provides us with a good idea of what is standard. Unfortunately this experience did not live up to those standards and this is the first time I have ever posted a negative review. The issues we ran into are the following: The owner is very slow to respond and at times never responded to questions/issues; He did not provide any type of basic house information or even information on the check out process; The address provided for the house takes you to the completely incorrect location 1/2 mile away and it's actually very hard to find the house given a very unique issue with house numbering of the street; While the kitchen had appliances the utensils consisted of 3 spoons, 5 forks and no knives (When I complained the owner dropped off several bags of plastic utensils); Multiple light bulbs either did not work or were missing; A fireplace is advertised but there is no wood for it; The master bed's mattress was horrible and worse than sleeping on a cheap pull out bed. If this had been a less expensive reservation I would have overlooked these issues but for the premium holiday rate we paid I find it an unacceptable level of service. If it were not for the owner having dropped off more utensils I would have given it a 2 out 5 stars.
