Everthing was great.

Good sized house, lovely location for ambling around, fantastic communication with Neil both before and during our stay. Lovely little rear garden with table and chairs. House was generally clean and tidy and if anything had too many TVs.
Single bathroom/toilet between 5 of us meant some communication but was manageable. A few other items in the kitchen such as a large saucepan and a mixing bowl would have aided our cooking but otherwise it was well equipped.

Great beds. Very good size property. Good value for the size of the property.
We have contacted the host suggesting a few additions in the kitchen. Otherwise nothing.

It was like being at home but in the stunning countryside
Not a thing

On the edge of the village - access to walks great location and comfortable accommodation for a group/ family

Lovely accommodation for our mountain bike trip. Great communication from Owner. Very comfy beds. Great all round.

Clean, picturesque location, spacious, well organised, excellent value.

Lovely accommodation in nice rural location, but not too far from the town if you need extra supplies. Garden and sitting area were a real benefit.
Single downstairs toilet/bathroom and nothing upstairs made nigh time trips to the loo a chore.
Town was walking distance but pubs in town are not good, so going to the pub for food of drink is a car journey. We tried an evening walk over the hill to the Farmer Boy Inn but the path is difficult to follow, stiles are high and poorly constructed, and we were attacked (and a member of our party bitten on the shoulder) by dangerous horses. The local farmers clearly don't like walkers.

Beautiful, spacious cottage, spotlessly clean, just outside the village of Mitcheldean. Communication with the owner was excellent before we went and he send us so much useful info on places to visit and where the good eating places were. Very peaceful location but close to everything the Forest of Dean has to offer There is so much to do in the area for families. We loved it. The cottage was extremely well equipped and the selection of toys for the kids to play with was outstanding. There were footpaths directly from the cottage and the fresh milk station 2 minutes away was a delight. The covered outside eating area in the garden was a bonus. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a break in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

Separate bedrooms for all 4 of us
Another toilet would have been convenient for a longer stay
Tricky making coffe with kitchen paper and a sieve so a cafetiere would be good.

it’s was a lovely clean cozy cottage, a good base for surrounding activities
a little difficult to find initially but we’ll deserved by the owner prior to visit

It was cosy, very clean and had everything we needed.
We liked everything.

Comfy beds. Spaciousness. Quiet location. Handy Co op.
No upstairs toilet. Only 1 bathroom. Poor lighting in lounge. One wall light faulty. Lack of reading lights in lounge.
A teatray would be useful.

Welcoming owner, beautifully situated, clean, well provided for …. absolutely perfect for a mum with 4 children ….. lots around the Forrest to explore - and beyond … would highly recommend …. Thank you so much for giving me and my children a wonderful half

my only concern is pulling out of the property - no mirror on a bend and I’m a worrier - a mirror to enable safe leaving of the property would be good but for all otherwise absolutely perfect 😍

We used this property for a mountain biking holiday and it was a perfect location being only 10 minutes from the mountain bike trail centre. The property had great facilities and was a very comfortable stay.
Nothing I didnt like

It’s in a great location for the Forest and tourist attractions. A lovely proportioned cottage with lots of rooms making it ideal for a family getaway. We wanted to spend time together in the evenings so suited much better than a hotel. It is clean and high quality and easy to find.
Could do with another toilet as there was only one bathroom and so there’s a queue in the mornings and when we are back after a trip out.

This really was a home from home with everything we needed in a beautiful location
Nothing

We had a fantastic time at Blackpool Cottage 2 last week. First and foremost, thank you Neil for being such an excellent host. He was in touch ever since we booked our holiday with information about the place, provided us with easy clear directions and was very quick to answer all the questions we had about the place. The House Manual he sent us even before we arrived was extremely helpful and best of all was the list of Places of interest. We tried out 2 of these places which we knew nothing about (even though we visit Forest of Dean once a year) and the kids had a gala time.
The cottage is beautiful and very well equipped and maintained. Its very spacious. There is a plethora of toys for the little ones and we didn't need to unpack a single toy we took with us. There is also a travel cot and a high chair there.
Every care was taken to make sure that all the visitors had a good relaxing time. There was enough storage in each room. Bedding and towels were provided to match the number of guests so was perfect. We were very happy with all the various facilities that were provided.
The views from the upstairs bedrooms was very nice and our 4 year old enjoyed watching the cows. She also thoroughly enjoyed plucking raspberries in the garden and playing there for hours.
We will definitely recommend the cottage to everyone and will most definitely return. Thank you very much for such a wonderful memorable holiday!

The place was huge and clean with a cosy living room and lovely little garden overlooking fields. The whole area was beautiful and wonderful to explore.
There is only one bathroom (no separated toilet) - if in a small group that's fine but we were a group of six so it took some negotiating.

Perfect peaceful hidden gem. Direct access to country walks. Dog friendly. Bedding smelt fresh and welcoming. Home from home. Lovely enclosed outside garden area also.
4.7
The house itself was beautifully decorated throughout, well equipped kitchen and the kids loved the tvs in the bedrooms. Very spacious and the dry outdoor area came in handy as it rained during our stay. Neil was very good to send pictured directions and available through messages if we had any issues.
Beds Comfortable and shower decent.
There was no coffee or tea which i found a bit odd as it is a fairly standard thing to expect.
The plates had remnants dried in and the glasses needed a wash before use.
The shower curtain was soiled.
We had to buy toilet roll, again fairly standard to expect to not have to provide for yourself.

Amazing location, and the cottage is great to feel at home.

We stayed at this cottage to be close to our daughter and grandchildren for a few days. The cottage is lovely, nicely decorated and very well equipped, with just about everything we could think of in the kitchen, including dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. It easily accommodated our family of 5. The beds were comfortable, with a decent mattress which is always a plus for me. Plenty of hot water too. The cottage feels very rural as it looks out to fields which is lovely, and Mitcheldean is a few minutes away so easy to access if need supplies. Also a small enclosed garden which was great. There was also a TV in most of the bedrooms, which although we didn't use, is a nice touch, as is the ability to use netflix on the main TV. Also has toys for children and a travel cot if needed. We had a really nice stay and would definitely rent it again.
The only small thing for us is that the property accommodates dogs, however on arrival the instructions ask that the dog only goes in the areas without carpet. We totally understand re the bedrooms/upstairs and not being allowed on the furniture, but struggled a bit with keeping him out of the lounge which has carpet and think that most dog owners who take their pets away with them would want them in the lounge with them when relaxing. So would suggest a solution would be to change the flooring in the lounge to the same as in the other downstairs room (which we used as a bedroom for my son and girlfriend), as it looks as nice as carpet and is more practical with dogs/children.
