About this house rental
This superb nine bedroom (19 guests) former church is located in the historic market town of Strathaven, South Lanarkshire. Boasting superb park views, central location, expansive interior, original features, the church makes for a unique holiday stay.
The town was granted a Royal Charter in 1450, making the Town of Strathaven a burgh of barony. The town is located on the edge of the strath of the Avon Water and is around 18 miles (29 km) from Glasgow. The A71, which connects Edinburgh passes through the town.
The church enjoys a beautiful, yet peaceful location within the town. Situated next to Allison Green, the church has direct access to the park, which is well kept, has lovely flower beds and the Powmillon burn which flows through the town on its way to the River Avon. On the other side of the church lies the John Hastie and George Allan Parks. The Parks are well worth a visit, and through the summer you can enjoy boating on the pond, a railway journey on the miniature railway, lots of fun on the putting green, and plenty of space to relax and appreciate the open space. During the summer the Park is used for the Strathaven Gala celebrations, including the famous Duck Race down the Powmillon burn and in August is the venue for the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival.

Liar and thief.
Property was amazing and in an amazing location but the owner is a liar and a thief.
Two days after our stay we were contact to be told the owner wanted an extra £500 because we left the place untidy. Out of the large list of things he accused us of I did say 2 were true. The floor was sticky, the bin bags leaked as we took them outside and there was no mop to clean it up with. The bins weren't emptied when we left, again true as we didn't want make more mess of the floor. He had a photo to prove we didn't empty the bin but I had admitted that. As for the huge list of other things he accused us of they were all lies and he had no proof whatsoever of them. He told me this is what his cleaner reported and actually never saw any of it himself. There was 18 of us and everyone of will tell you the whole house was tidied before we left.

Amazing!!
We had an amazing stay at East church house for a birthday celebration. The property had everything you need and was spotlessly clean. The house itself is perfectly maintained and interiors are to a high standard. This property has the wow factor and would definitely book again.
