About this cabin rental
This relaxing cabin is located near Hill City, South Dakota, and is at the center of everything the Black Hills has to offer!
Built in the mid 70's, this cabin shares the lower driveway with one other cabin (Cabin 5) and provides a great opportunity for families and groups.
This cabin can accommodate six guests in one bedroom with two queen-size beds and a nice queen pull-out sofa with a memory foam mattress in the living room. Linens are provided as well as nice comforters.
Off the short hallway is a bathroom with a shower/tub. Towels, wash clothes, a floor mat, and hand towels are provided. Upon request we will exchange used towels for fresh towels. Toilet paper and liquid hand soap are also provided but personal hygiene items such as shampoo and body wash are not. A hair dryer is available upon request.
In the kitchen area, guests will find a stove, refrigerator, a microwave, and a toaster. A coffee maker and filters are provided as well, however, we do not provide coffee, sugar, or creamer. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, cooking utensils, dishware, and cups. Dish soap, a dish scrubby, and a dish towel are provided as well as paper towels. The corner banquette table seats 6.
In the living room area guests will find a couch for lounging after a long day of sight seeing and a wall-mounted television with Dishnetwork to provide additional entertainment.
Air conditioning is provided in the bedroom and box fans are provided in the cabin to help keep things comfortable during the summer. On the cooler days, cove heaters keep this tiny cabin nice and toasty.
Immediately out the front door there is a fire pit area with a picnic table and a Weber charcoal grill. Firewood harvested from the property and eggs from our free range chickens are available for sale on site. Charcoal and lighter fluid that other guests have left may be available at no charge. This cabin is closest to the playground equipment so kids can let out some energy and be in sight.
Surrounded by public lands, Mitchell Lake is a short walk away and offers a great view, kayaking and fishing opportunities. Wild raspberries and wildflowers can often be found near by as well.
Although parking is limited, when cabins 4 and 5 are booked together, guests have the best options for accommodating small trailers with recreational vehicles or motorcycles. We encourage you to reach out to us to discuss parking options before you book.
Needles Highway, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park, and Rapid City are all within a short 30 minute drive of your front door. The cabin is only two miles from Hill City, which has a grocery store, hardware store, many great restaurants and shops. Walmart and Target are only a 25 minute drive into Rapid City.
Our 2.5 acre property consists of five cabins, and a six room motel.
Come see what the Black Hills of South Dakota has to offer and stay at our family friendly and comfortable property.

We had a great time staying at robins roost. The cabins were neat and tidy, and the owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The cabins were better than pictured online and overall it was a perfect place to stay for the weekend.

This cabin became our little home away from home for a few nights. It was clean, comfy and in a great location. I would definitely stay here again and recommend highly.

This cabin is in the perfect location making a lot of the attractions close by. The owners of the property were super nice people. We were there for quite awhile and they checked in a couple times just to make sure we didnt need anything. Would 10/10 recomend this place.

We come to the area often to ride the black hills trails.. i don't always leave reviews for places cause i usually forget when we get back, but this one deserves to be recognized. This cabin is a new favorite for us. The owners were right there if we needed anything and were the friendliest couple that we've booked from to date. Cabin was perfect for us.. the one we stayed at has room for my pickup and trailer. Very clean and well maintained property. Can't think of anything they could have done better. We'll be back next year if they have the room available.

Stayed 4 nights and rode the atv trails. Cabin was very clean and had sufficient items for cooking our own meals. Close to Hill City for gas and other conviences. Owners were friendly and very helpful. Cabin was small but worked well for the 4 of us. Overall a great vacation.

We loved our stay! The cabin is cute and the perfect location close to all attractions.
We met the hosts and they answered all our questions and even recommended a few places we later are at. Our little one enjoyed the play set and a nice fire at night.
Only suggestion would be more cooking items (we cooked breakfast every morning and needed another skillet and a pot) and possible chairs outside. Picnic table was great but a few chairs would be nice too or I wish I would have packed ours.
Overall a great experience and we hope to visit again!

This was a good room location to go to all the surrounding attractions in the Black Hills area.
I was a little disappointed in how much we heard the busy traffic from the room. Even at night.
The hosts were very nice.
It is a beautiful view.

Very easy to work with VRBO. The hosts were tremendous and very helpful. Short distance out of Hill City. The cabin has all the comforts of home and the grocery store for the things we needed was very close. I know some complained about the WIFI but it is satellite and worked just fine for our needs. Look forward to a return trip in the future

The property was rustic and included everything you need (hot/cold water and AC/Heat, appliances, bedding, towels). The size was perfect for our family of 5 (3 kids under age 7). A swingset is close by for kids too.
The owners were great! Very friendly and accommodating. He even made a chipmonk trap for our son to watch.
Also our cabin was centrally located with 25 mins to Rapid City, Mt Rushmore and Custer Park. Hill City has good restaurants and fun shops, plus a grocery store if you want to stay in for meals.

We arrived and were met by the owners. There is no specific front office but they saw us arrive and met us with the key and showed us around the cabin. Very clean. The owners were very friendly and happy to chat and give suggestions of where to eat, etc. We stayed in Cabin 7 and our daughter was able to easily play at the little play ground set while we were at the cabin. We could see her out the window. Had everything we needed but we didn't spend much time there, as we were exploring and hiking a lot. The fire pit/ picnic table area is fairly small. Not a problem for us.
We had no issues or problems and would highly recommend these cabins.
** ONLY HEADS UP - The internet and phone reception is very hit or miss. We were aware of this after reading other reviews and were expecting it. This is something you will deal with throughout the ENTIRE Black Hills, unless you are right in one of the towns. It is nothing against the cabin / owners, just a heads up so you are prepared.

Great Stay Near Hill City
The cabin was super clean and the hosts were very helpful. The location was great for the central Black Hills and Custer State Park

No one was at the office when we arrived to check in. The cabin was unlocked and clean though so we moved in and was welcomed later by the manager, so no big deal
The two thermostats in the cabin did not work properly. The mattresses on both queen beds were in very bad condition, and the pull out bed was no better. Not all of the windows would open properly. We needed a kitchen, and a warm shower, and that it provided well.
