Beautiful little cottage on the lake. Clean, easy check-in, and quiet. Loved our stay and will come back again!

We booked a last minute 4 night get away with our two teenage boys for the 4th of July and we had a great time. The cottage was a perfect size and very cozy. The lake was beautiful and the kayak’s and paddle board got plenty of use while others enjoyed fishing. Great location where we were close enough to be able to go check out town, go for hikes and take a day trip to Acadia. Loved the neighborhood on the lake!

This camp on Togus Pond is incredible. The neighborhood is quiet and the pond is peaceful. We enjoyed afternoons sitting on the dock catching the sun and going for swims. The pond is excellent for kayaking. We used the fire pit to make s'mores. The camp is simply perfect. There are plenty activities in the surrounding area if you want to go out on an adventure. The host communicates well and responds quick. This is a great place.

This property is exactly as listed. We spent a few days away to do whale watching and hike at Acadia. We actually bought summit passes for 3 days, but only used 1. We all decided all we wanted was the peace that this property offered. The setting was perfect to sit outside for hours reading or taking advantage of the kayaks or paddle board. The neighbors are also very friendly and welcoming! If we come back, we will definitely stay here, again!

A sweet cabin on Togus pond! The view can’t be beat! Love the porch and outdoor seating, as well as access to kayaks and a dock. Wish the master had a larger bed- it was very cozy during hot weather 😜. We will definitely be back!

This tiny cottage was so nice and it was the perfect get away spot for us to spend some quiet time away. We used the paddle boat on the lake and we enjoyed the quiet serene setting. Would go again, but would spend the whole week here instead of the other locations we visited.

Everything went smoothly. There was the makings for s’mores and firewood along with a nice note to welcome us.

Beautiful lakeside cottage
We had a lovely stay in this cozy cottage. We truly appreciated the generosity that was extended to us; we were allowed use of the owner's kayaks, paddle boat, firewood, dock, games, books, television with streaming services and a well-stocked cottage. They even supplied ingredients to make smores with a little note to greet us which made it an extremly welcoming experience. Everything about this place was beautiful from the lake views inside the cottage to the views outside sitting around the campfire. The neighbors are super friendly and quiet. The fishing is good; we caught several bass. My only suggestion is that future visitors bring water shoes because a family member sliced her foot on a shell. Other than that, it was a perfect vacation.

The cottage was very nice. Had everything we needed for a few days stay. The area was quiet and neighbor Bob was nice. It is not far from all the shopping in Augusta. We spent a lot of time on the water and saw a lot of wildlife including two pairs of loons and a bald eagle. We did not like the fact that some windows did not open, but it was windy and coolish. The decorations were not gaudy but simple and cottage feeling. We would recommend this place to friends and may come back again some day.

Lovely little Camp
This is a beautiful 4 season camp in Maine....a bit rustic as is typical for a1925 lake camp, but it's been mostly updated. The dock, fire pit and grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately we had more rain than sun, so they didn't get much use. Just be aware, a full bed size is just that....full! Snuggle! Thanks for a great week back in Maine.

Slice of Heaven
Togus Pond is a delicious place for swimming and boating, painting and grilling, dining and exploring. The sunsets and the start-filled sky are stunning. The house was super comfortable and had everything we could need. And our Host Jill was responsive and so lovely. We’re already dreaming of next year…

Lovely Maine getaway
The camp was just what we were looking for. Clean, cozy and right on the water. Beds were comfy! Enjoyed the kayaks. My son was obsessed with the tiki toss game. Kept him entertained on a rainy day! Hope to visit again! Thank you!

Cottage at Togo’s Pond
We enjoyed the little cottage. Charming. We agree with previous person about the walk down to the cottage. We did not walk the uneven, though lovely, stone path down. We are both older and did not want to risk tripping. So I took the low road while my husband took the high road (just along each side of the stones).
We would have preferred regular TV stations along with Netflicks. We both had trouble reading at night or on cloudy days. Better lighting would be great.
I would recommend better sheets. Cotton preferred. And a welcoming coffee selection for the first days. Also better cooking and silverware utensils.
We enjoyed sitting out on the chairs by the pond all times of the day. We loved watching the sunsets. We heard the loons and watched a lone heron on the small island.
Neighbors were really nice. Quiet too.
Lovely cottage, lovely location. Thank you.

We found Jill's house to be cute and comfortable. We loved that the home included a paddle boat and kayaks. A perfect getaway for a family to relax and enjoy the lake!

Perfect Lake Getaway
We couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Jill made sure we had everything we needed, and we were pleasantly surprised with S'more makings on arrival! The cottage was cute, clean and set up for life on the water with 2 kayaks, a paddleboat, and life jackets. The water was clean and clear, and we loved sitting around the fire pit in the Adirondack chairs for hours. We look forward to coming back!

OK but .....
Pros
Jill (owner) was very pleasant and responsive to deal with.
Yard is well maintained and clean.
Nice and quiet surroundings. Birds chirping were louder than the faint sound of distant traffic.
Nice view over lake/pond - pretty sunsets.
Saw several bald eagles "fishing" and heard the loons.
2 Kayaks w/ life jackets provided.
Paddle boat
2 coffee makers- one is Keurig
Gas grill provided
Fire pit with wood provided along with s'more ingredients and cooking sticks (but we did have to purchase fire starters (kindling) to start the fire.)
Six (I think) Adirondack chairs around the fire pit (two were ready to be replaced.)
Family games provided (nice cornhole boards.)
Cons
Limited electric outlets and about half were 2-prong ungrounded, including those in the master bedroom. The bedroom window AC was plugged into an ungrounded outlet with an adapter. A 10-ft or so Walmart type extension cord was provided but that did not solve the 3-prong issue. Charging the phones at night and running the CPAP machine required the full length of the extension cord run under the bed.
Single small bathroom (but still clean and functional with good hot water.) Nightime trips from the master bedroom required walking through the living room and kitchen. Ok if only two of you but inconvenient if there are others with you.
Limited lighting - only one floor lamp for living/dining area. Playing games on the table at night with the grandkids was done in reduced lighting. Kitchen light helped some.
Several windows could not be opened limiting the cross-breeze in the cabin.
Bed in the master was only a full-size and was "creeky"
Other
The house is a small, partially renovated older summer vacation home. This by itself is not a bad thing. Just don't expect new walls, floors, carpeting, cabinetry, etc. Functional and clean but think rustic.
There is a slight grade from the parking area to the door with a path of somewhat flat stones (with tree roots) and no railing. If you're less than 60 years old, no problem. But if you're older or have leg, knee or ankle issues the uneveness and tree roots could present a tripping hazzard - especially when carrying groceries or boxes from your vehicle at night. Beware.
There was a washing machine but no dryer that we saw.
There was good internet access but the TV was limited to Netflix. This was not an issue for us but would be if you want cable TV Channels.
Six people is pushing functional capacity.

Relaxing getaway
The cottage was adorable and accurate to the listing. Jill was always very responsive and even was flexible to allow us to check in a bit earlier! When we mentioned there was no life vests to be found, she provided us with two the same day. We did need a total of four so we went and bought our own in Augusta.
The location is lovely and quaint, there's a decent amount of space in the backyard and you are very close to the water. There are a lot of rocks around the dock and shore, so our water shoes came in handy! It's beautiful to wake up to see the pond and to see the sunset and plenty of stars at night. There are neighbors in rather close proximity on both sides but we rarely ever heard them, and we hope they didn't hear us too much.
It was a tad unfortunate we happened to stay during one of the hottest weeks, so it was a bit hot at night. (It made going into the water great though!) Thankfully, we had brought three fans with us. The master bedroom is the only one with an AC installed.
There is a gas grill available near the front door, so bring your meats! There was also a thoughtful bowl of smores ingredients for the firepit out back.

Great lakefront property
We enjoyed our stay very much at this cozy camp by the lake. We used the kyack in the lake and fished off the dock. Highly recommended and will stay again.
