About this cabin rental
Summary:
Our secluded cabin is situated on 18 private acres of lush and secluded Tennessee forests. Come and sleep among the trees!
The Space:
The cabin recently had a complete makeover - all furniture, cookware, tv's, grills, etc. are brand new. The cabin features an expansive outdoor deck, brand new king-sized nectar mattresses (rated by US News as the best memory foam mattress in 2021!), fiber internet, excellent cell reception, two 4k smart tv's, surround sound, three hammocks, a private lounging area, board games, foosball table, and a gas fireplace. We also recently constructed a gorgeous salt water, cedar hot tub. The tub seats 8 adults and is surrounded by trees. A truly exquisite place to relax under the stars!
Guests of the cabin can choose between two firepits, one massive pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs to the front of the cabin, and a smaller one located on our observation deck 16’ off the ground. Both are spectacular places to enjoy a fire with friends and family. We keep firewood stocked and available for our guests.
The Cabin is a short 7 minute drive to downtown Monteagle (and the Monteagle Assembly), which hosts numerous great restaurants and antique shoppes. It’s a 15 minute drive from the campus of the University of the South at Sewanee, where you can find many wonderful activities including the Sewanee Summer Music Festival and visiting Sewanee’s famous All Saints Chapel. The cabin is a short 25 minute drive to the Caverns, a notable Bluegrass music venue set in a cave. For those interested in day trips to the bigger cities, we’re 45 minutes to Chattanooga and 90 minutes to Nashville.
Monteagle Mountain is one of the most stunning natural areas in Tennessee, designated nationally by the Natural Resources Defense Council as a "bio-gem" due to its rich diversity of wildlife, trees, birds and other species. The Cabin is a 10 minute drive to the South Cumberland State Park, a 31,000 acre park filled with world-class hiking trails and waterfalls, including the Fiery Gizzard Trail, Grundy Lakes, and Foster Falls. Beautiful area lakes including Tims Ford Lake, Nickajack Lake, Normandy Lake, and Woods Reservoir offer fantastic fishing, boating, and water sport activities.
The bedroom breakdown is as follows:
Bedroom 1—King bed with ensuite bathroom
Bedroom 2—King bed
Bedroom 3—King bed
Bedroom 4—Two Twin beds (adjoins Bedroom 3)

The four of us felt that this was about a 3.5 star property. The listing needs to be updated as the hot tub shown has been replaced with a fiberglass model and about half the jets in it do not work. Also, it is noted a secluded but they are building dome type buildings on both sides of it. One of them was close enough that an extension cord was run from this property to that one. This property is noted as recently having a complete makeover. We feel this is an overstatement. There is plenty of work left to be done to make it feel truly updated and "special". There were a number of maintenance issues that we communicated to the owner upon departure. There are no dressers in the house, so you have to live out of your suitcase or put your clothes on an unused bed. Other than the porch light, the entry area was dark when we arrived because the outside lighting timer was not set to the correct time, even accounting for the recent time change. The directions should note that the road onto the property is now paved. If there were no maintenance issues, it would have been a 4 star property. The beds are very comfortable. The checkout procedure of simply washing the dishes was much appreciated. The location was nice and quiet.

The cabin is situated in a lovely wooded, secluded area. There is plenty of room for 2-3 families to spread out and have space of their own. Outdoor deck areas are a wonderful place to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Inside has all the comforts of home. The cabin is a wonderful place to use as a base camp for exploring all the nearby outdoor activities. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at The Cabin. It's beautifully set in the woods with all the cozy feelings. We loved the hot tub and that each of the 3 couples had a king bedroom. We will definitely be back one of the many awesome cabins there!

Beautiful
Overall my stay here was beautiful! The entire house was gorgeous and cozy it has a lot of bedrooms with enough space in each of them. The hot tub was one of my favorite parts of the entire house. A couple pointers there was construction on the property (Not very loud), The hot tub is on the main level outside not on the deck upstairs.

Great stay! Super clean and updated!
The entire property was in a perfect area that was away from the busy city. The town was absolutely wonderful and everyone was so friendly. The cabin itself was extremely clean and up-to-date! There was a beautiful little patio out back, a nice hot tub, and the bed was one of the best night's sleep I've had. The owner was extremely nice. He gave recommendations for places to eat and things to do near by, any questions/concerns we had regarding the property he was on top of it and stayed in communication with us the entire time. It would not surprise me if the owner became a super host. They put a lot of time and effort into making this cabin a wonderful stay! We would all go back!

Magical Mountain Retreat
My family spent a week at this relaxing retreat before my son left for college. The home was perfect for everyone and we enjoyed the hot tub, the outdoor decks and hammocks. We also soaked up local hiking and waterfalls that were close by. The entire stay was a breath of fresh air and a much needed vacation that made us feel like royalty because everything felt new and upgraded.

Great place for a family getaway!
Our cabin stay was a much needed retreat. Not only were the essentials met ( comfy beds and bedding, cleanliness, and a responsive host) but the stay exceeded expectations. The house feels like a well appointed tree house- we especially enjoyed the porch dining and the restorative hot tub that feels like it’s floating in the forest. The grounds were also expansive and provided space for kids to roam or for a lively game of bocce.
We were two families and the layout ensured that everyone felt they had their own space if needed.
It made for a great homebase for daily hikes, swimming holes and a day trip to Chattanooga.
We are sure to return, our kids are already demanding more s’mores around the fire pit!

Awesome Weekend Escape
This is a wonderful cabin that has recently been renovated with impeccable attention to detail. The beds are insanely comfortable, the living room is equipped with full cable and streaming services, and the balcony is quiet and makes you feel like you're in the middle of the woods (because you are!) - We enjoyed every moment of our stay and can't wait to visit again.
