-The Inn itself was very pretty from the outside, including the location surrounding it
-The waiting/housekeeping ladies were both very pleasant to speak to
-Only a £6.50 taxi to the piece hall
-Bed felt like being on a rollercoaster, constant shaking from side to side at the slightest movement, also felt like I was falling off as it was dinted in one side
-Extremely outdated room, no table to eat food on, no hairdryer, shampoo, only one small towel provided. Could not wash hair.
-Kettle dirty, lots of condensation inside
-Paper thin walls- could hear everything other guests were saying and one guest repeatedly kept banging their door so hard my key actually fell out of the door handle which startled me at the time
-Mold in bathroom, bathroom outdated- looks as though it hasn't been for atleast 20 years
-Absolutely 0 signal in the area, wifi very poor
-Window doesn't close properly, could hear the busy main road all night including cars blasting music
-Manager blasts music from 9am from the outside speakers, which are directly next to the window, even though the pub does not open until 12pm. I was checking out at 10am anyway so this did not bother me but if I had been staying another night this is absolutely not acceptable, some guests may still want to sleep at that time (not that I got any sleep anyway)
-Manager also seemed annoyed he had brought my food I had ordered up to me because due to lack of signal I did not receive notification it had arrived.
-Overall worst nights sleep i've ever had in a hotel and does not reflect the £70 price tag at all, needs updating

Location handy for Shibden park and Halifax
Beds very comfy lovely linens

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, cheap beer, fast free Wi-Fi
Small bathroom so if you’re on the larger side it’s not very comfortable, bed was right next to the radiator and it was on all night and due to the wind I couldn’t have the window open, fire escape door you have to use on a night to come and go can’t be reopened from the outside due to it being stiff

Breakfast was good
Floor boards very uneven and creaky when walking around. Bed headboard was broken and situated right next to a firing radiator

The location
En-suite very small. Damp on walls in bathroom. Very old thin towels with various stains on them. No coffee in rooms, one teaspoon in one room, none in twin room.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was great. Plenty of free parking. Convenient location for visit to Piece Hall.
The only downside, which is unavoidable, is the busy road.

Went to Halifax for it's history and stayed overnight at Stump Cross, pub built by a Lister so a bit of history itself and across the road from Shibden Park and Hall. Bed was comfy and clean, shower was lovely it's a basic room nothing fancy and for £59 a night was excellent price for the location, cooked fry up in the morning was nice. Stuff were friendly. I didn't hear noise from the road outside nor the pub down stairs. Would recommend to a friend.

Excellent value for money. Room was clean, good size and met expectations. Very quiet during the night. Good breakfast with gluten free option provided. Location was perfect for days in Halifax. Good parking and free.
Mattress whilst adequate could have been more comfortable.

Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Reasonably priced

Great food, comfortable clean room
Didn’t inform me that the door through to the restaurant/breakfast area was locked at night. So disconcerting to feel locked in. There was a fire escape so I wasn’t actually locked in but it felt weird

Staff lovely and helpful.
The shower kept going hot and cold.

Although on a very busy road was still a very quiet nights sleep, staff very friendly and excellent food.

The location for visiting friends and Halifax was good. Also very close to Shibden Hall. Good cooked breakfast cooked to order, but expensive for what it was and not included. Good restaurant attached for evening meal
Room was very small. Had to move the bed to reach window to close curtains. Concertina door across ensure was broken so didn't close at all. Back ground smrell of dogs.

lovely hotel. all staff very friendly and food was excellent
would have liked some entertainment in the evening as other pubs were too far to travel
4.0
Friendly helpful staff, room clean and very comfortable. I was offered a choice of two rooms, and my comfort was clearly a priority.
Perfect location for walking to Shibden Park
Not a big problem, but it would have been useful to have a bigger towel for after showering

Plenty of car parking spaces, location was just 15 min walk along a busy road or £5 - £7 in a taxi.
Arrival time changed to from our booking details from 12 o’clock to 4 o’clock only told on the morning of arrival.
Bar closed extremely early on a Saturday evening after getting a taxi back and just managed to get the last orders at around 10 o’clock.
Deluxe room was very dated and small for a family room
Security was an issue for us if in late we could only use the fire escape which obviously had no key or code and in the bad weather we had the steel steps to climb which was dangerous due to being icy

The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Our evening meals were beautifully cooked. We had a full English breakfast which was perfect. Even though it was snowing outside, inside was lovely and warm and comfortable.
Nothing. The accommodation was clean and couldn't fault it.

The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The hotel was ideally situated for my needs as on a main road but was well insulated from any noise.

Family room a bit on the small side.Pub opening times a bit strange.
