Your private space has a 3/4 bathroom with floor-to-ceiling stone finishes and a washer and dryer for your convenience. The space has a living room with a comfortable sofa, granite coffee table, and extra seating. An artist had a dream and he's inviting you to enjoy it. This is an experience, not just a place to stay. You'll be thrilled and inspired. Shangri-La stories will be told as you recant your Alaska vacation memories into the future. Johney is passionate and fun. His work is unique. It's edgy, and it's hard-core. Much of his art is three-dimensional, assemblage style. Johney figured out that he could make kitchens into art, so he studied rock shops around the country, created his tools, and opened his stone fabrication shop in the garage of his home in 1999. Johney's eye for the perfect rock and design to match his customer's personality landed him on the cover of Southeast Living Magazine. He's a classic entrepreneur, turning one sale into another tool, and eventually, he built his shop in the back and expanded the home around it until a masterpiece was created, and ready to share with you. Self-portraiture by the late Skylar Engle is displayed throughout the property. These two Engle's have produced brilliant art, with outstandingly contrasting styles to interest you.
It's self check-in so late arrival is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival.

Kelli is close by and easy to get ahold of by phone or messaging.
Pets are welcome, upon approval. Please inquire about monthly pet fees for long-term stays. If you feel that the extra animal fee is too expensive rendering a low value, please don't book this place. We will strive to provide the best customer service and improve as we go with feedback from our guests. We hope to earn your five-star review. Your expectations should be limited to what is promised here, and reviews should reflect how we did with these promises. Before submitting your review, please remember to base it on the following criteria and what was promised to be provided for the price paid as follows:
Easy check-in process – You'll be able to self-check in. Kelli will give you check-in details prior to arrival, including a lockbox code. You'll be able to access the rental at your leisure after check-in time, at 4 pm. We offer early check-in options if it's available a couple of days prior to your arrival for $50.
Great Communication – Kelli is known to be responsive to guests before, during, and after their stay. You can expect prompt responses to your questions. Please text for the fastest response. You can also, call her. She'll respond to website messages as soon as she can.
Clean Accommodations – Your private apartment should be sparkling clean.
Great Auke Bay/Back Loop Location – It's steps from the city bus stop and three miles from the famous Mendenhall Glacier. You can take the bus, which stops one mile away from the glacier. You can also rent a bike, available at the property, and get to the glacier and Auke Bay on trails, bike paths, and short sections of road with shoulder/bike lanes. This is not a downtown Juneau property. Downtown Juneau is substantially more expensive than the Mendenhall Valley, so this location for the price should not be compared to that of downtown. If you want to be downtown and don't want to take a 45-minute bus ride to go 16 miles, then this space is not for you.
Accurate Description of the Space - I try to make continuous improvements when guests make suggestions and do my best to keep the changes updated and published. If I missed something please let me know, so I can update the information. If you are missing something you were counting on, please let me know immediately, so I can try to provide it for your stay.
Great Value – Juneau is expensive, especially during peak season, and while this is a more affordable option, we understand that it can seem expensive. Part of the value is the ability to rent for only one night and have an additional person. The price fluctuates depending on the season. We have to charge more when the business is there so that we can afford to have it vacant for long, slow periods.

Quick stay for us. Would love to spend a week or so here in the future. Nice property. Nice location out of the busy downtown area.

We were looking for a place for week stay near Juneau but out on the edge. This was great find. Suite Rock is up a flight of stairs but you can pull car up to load/unload. Quiet and felt like we were truly in the woods. Big suite with ample room in all areas. Nice kitchen for cooking and plenty of room to relax at night after long days. Close to many great things to do and Auke Bay. We had a couple of concerns that we contacted Kelli. She promised to get plan for change and called me with it next day. She has always been responsive quickly on questions and reservations for you. We hope to go back and would recommend to all.

Kelli and Suite Rock were both EXCELLENT!!! We wanted to stay somewhere where we could be immersed in Juneau - and, preferring to avoid the cruise crowds of downtown, opted for this property - VERY SMART CHOICE!!!
Clean, quiet, plenty of room for us. Very close to Auke Bay. Stellar's Jays visiting us in the mornings. We made use of a rental car to go everywhere we wanted to. Kelli made the entire process seamless and provided us with valuable counsel on things we should do, especially in avoiding the cruise crowds.
It was, simply put, a fabulous stay in Juneau, in large part because of Suite Rock, Kelli, and our experience with her!!! A once-in-a-lifetime trip for us!!! If we EVER go back, we'll stay there again!!!

Not only is this located within a walk to the lake, it is also a walk to coffee, lunch/dinner, and the university - absolutely perfect location! Furthermore, the amenities are amazing and the decor is so nice. We also wanted to bike and Kelli quickly accommodated. Then, I asked for an extra blanket and it was delivered in only a few minutes. The attention to detail is amazing and I feel very fortunate to be able to stay at Kelli's locations when visiting Juneau - thanks, Kelli! You're the best! : )

What a beautiful stay !!!! The lush greenery on the property was beautiful to look at through the window. Close to town, but far enough that we were away from the cruise ship hustle and bustle. Parking on the property was easy. Normal residential noise, nothing that was bothersome. Contactless check in was easy. Directions were wonderful. Truely a nice stay. Hope to be back soon. Thanks for everything. Appreciate it.

Wonderful 1 bedroom with very nice kitchen and living area. Kitchen was well stocked with nice flatware, dinnerware and cooking pots and pans. Shower warmed up quickly and has good pressure. Very private back entrance. Bed is very comfortable. Everything was GREAT! I compared many rentals and this one was by far the best location and value.

This property is immaculate and bright, clean, and very comfortable. The bed felt like I was sleeping on a comfy cloud. The check in was super easy and the check out was really nice not having to stand in a line waiting for your turn. My expectations were definably met and beyond I would definitely recommend this one to my friends and family. The app is super user friendly easy. And the customer service was super with a fast response when I needed something or had a question. Thank you so much!!!

Great Stay in Auke Bay
Location and accommodations were absolutely perfect for our stay. We loved that it was quiet and distanced from the crowds and chaos the summer cruise ships bring to downtown. Easy access by car to all the activities and outings we had planned in and around the Juneau area such as the Mendenhall Glacier, Auke Bay for deep sea fishing, and a short drive to downtown Juneau. The suite itself is well equipped for a short or long stay. The kitchen has a full size oven, stove, refrigerator, and most importantly coffee pot as well as various cooking utensils, dishes and glassware. There is also a full size washer and dryer, plenty of closet and drawer space. We'll stay here again and highly recommend!

Beautiful one bedroom
The granite and stonework make this a special place to stay. Perfect location for us (we were visiting family) near great hiking trails, restaurants/bars, movie theater and of course Aiken Bay and tours. Looking forward to staying again.
