About this house rental
Great location, cozy first floor one bedroom in a historic Cape May home on iconic Washington Street. Located less than 1 mile bike to Madison Ave beach, great restaurants, and just 5 short blocks to the Washington Street Mall. Enjoy two separate exterior entrance/exits from the cottage for maximum privacy. Large sliding doors to the patio (a shared space among 3 units) beckon the natural sunlight resulting in a cheerful space much larger than a hotel room with more privacy than an efficiency or bed and breakfast. Located just 3 blocks from the Washington Inn and other signature Cape May eats! Washington Street Mall is located just 5 short blocks away where you can shop, dine, or enjoy a cocktail in the Brown Room at Congress Hall. Looking for adventure, grab a house bike and a beach towel and head to Madison Ave Beach, less than one mile away! Sit and relax the day away or head to Grant Street beach or the Cove to catch some waves! Had enough of the beach? Grab your tennis racket and check out the Physick Estate, or call the Cape May Free ride to visit one of Cape May’s amazing winery’s. If you like to fish, you’re in the right spot with local charters or take a booze cruise on the Tiny Tiki out of South Jersey Marina! In Cape May, you can do nothing at all, but there will never be nothing to do!

The pictures accurately show the inside. It is in a good location for walking to the mall and restaurants.

We were very satisfied and Gina is a pleasure to arrange with. And the free use of the bikes was perfect. Will stay there again. ☺️

My husband & I stayed here to join other family members that were vacationing in Cape May also. This is a cozy, very clean, comfortable place to stay.
We borrowed bikes the owner had available to ride around and visit the family. We also got a lot of walking exercise in going to the Washington St mall which was right down the street and going to the beach early in the morning to see the sun rise. Just Beautiful! We found the air conditioning unit to be just fine as long as we kept it on most of the time on high cool. We did not need to use a fan we brought just in case since there was a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was wonderful to move cool air. Loved having the washer/dryer to do laundry. Honestly we couldn’t have asked for anything more for this price. Thank you for such a lovely little place to stay.

This was my 2nd time at Gina’s and it was just as amazing as my first stay! My husband and I went for our babymoon and now just returned with our 3 week old. Our bassinet fit perfectly in the nook next to the bed and Gina is so responsive with any questions I had. Definitely will return again soon 😊

I stayed here with my mom and sister for a getaway. Overall, would recommend but feel as though some things should be known. The good first- the property was immaculate. Now for the things I just want to note: it is quite noisy if someone is staying upstairs. Unsure if they were the owners dogs but there was a lot of barking early in the morning and running upstairs. Also, we were woken by a vacuum in the morning (before 8 am). Next, there is no fan in the bathroom. It was very steamy in there after a shower and it is connected to the kitchen so bring some Febreze. Also, I was excited to walk everywhere based on how the listing explained everything was so close. The shopping center and most restaurants were driving or biking distance. For the price, the quaint location and the cleanliness it was worth it!

As historic Cape May as historic Cape May gets as well as A.C., fridge, bathroom, tv, chill backyard
Accurate description, no worries, no problems, good peoples 🇺🇸
Acme 3 minutes down the street 👍
Avoid The Mad Batter & the restaurants @ The Congress Hall hotel 👎
Taco Caballito all day, sit on the top deck and get a hot honey margarita 👍 👍

The cottage was perfect! Gina the host answered my questions quickly. Nicely furnished the bed was very comfortable with a scent of lavender on the sheets, which made it so relaxing. The living room had a sliding glass door we enjoyed watching the birds from the couch. Well kept landscape with nice patio furniture. Private backyard with grill and hugh picnic's table. Give this rental a 10! 😊 We will be back♥️.

The one bedroom apartment is tiny, but is very cute and comfortable, and has its own entrance with an access to the garden. Nicely furnished. The bedroom is long and narrow, which is fine for one person, but might be a bit less than ideal for a couple. There was construction going on next door, so was noisy in the daytime. No dishwasher or laundry facility. Also, no space to store any dry food goods except on the counter. Fine if you plan to mostly eat out or for short stays. The neighborhood is lovely and leafy, and generally fairly quiet, although it is a busy street (even busier at the moment perhaps due to a detour routing through traffic from the Main Street). The door code was not provided to me before check-in, causing some confusion on arrival and necessitating a phone call. However, this was quickly resolved. Very responsive host. All in all, I enjoyed the stay very much.

The cottage was quaint and cute. It had everything we needed.
Our biggest complaint is that it was extremely bright in the bedroom all night. The neighbors left a very bright outside light on and the bedroom blinds were very thin and let all of the light in. Blackout curtains in the bedroom would be beneficial. The curtain in the bathroom was see through so we needed to hang a towel over that. The air conditioner did not get cool so it got a little warm even though we had a cooler stay. Perhaps an air conditioner in the bedroom as well for the really hot summer days.
It’s nice that you offer bikes and we did utilize them.
If the window situation and air conditioning were addressed we would happily stay again.
Thank you for opening your home to us.

Sometimes photos don't quite tell the story. I didn't realize that the entire unit was cooled by a large window air conditioner installed just above the sofa bed -- which meant that anyone sleeping there would have rumbling noise and cold blasting just two feet over their head, while the person in the bedroom would need a fan blowing on them. As Cape May gets very hot and humid, the AC had to go full blast most nights. Also there were a LOT of ants in the kitchen, crawling on the floor and counters. I wasn't too upset, as ants are common at the shore, but maybe an exterminator could help. The kitchen is very, very tiny and cramped -- no dining table or regular chairs just a small bar-type table and counter stools. It was really hard to cook anything besides scrambled eggs and coffee. I will say that the unit had been very well-cleaned.

We enjoyed our off-season stay so much. Communication with Gina was a pleasure. One hiccup was handled with grace and ease. Walking to and from the center/mall was just what the doctor ordered. I recommend visiting in spring as most places were open, and you could walk right in even on a weekend night. Recommended!

Perfect place to stay while attending all the holiday events going on in Cape May. Cozy and Quiet. Mild temps this year even allowed us to enjoy a bike ride.

This was a good pick for my husband and myself. Location is just a few streets away from all of the activity in Cape May. I was able to head back mid-day and catch a quick nap before nighttime dinner, drinks, and live music. Clean space. My husband LOVED all of the channels he could stream. Sports and news! Had all kitchen necessities, but only two washcloths for three nights for two of us. The bed was difficult to get in and out if you are the one who sleeps trapped by the wall. Comfortable bed and pillows and comforter though! It was a pretty dark atmosphere, but we were mostly there just to sleep. Easy entrance into home, but parking was on street only and crowded.

The pictures do not depict the true condition of this property. We left, without staying, and had to find another expensive hotel for our vacation. VRBO agreed to contact owner. As yet we have not received promised response.

This was a cute little space for 2 people. Only thing lacking was adequate storage for your clothes and food. Otherwise it a perfect spot for a couple to stay! Bikes, beach chairs and tags were a definite plus!

My husband & I enjoyed our stay in the Crew Quarters. The rental was very clean. We enjoyed the bikes included especially since the rental is a long walk from the center of town. We would rent again.

My wife and I really enjoyed staying in your great apartment. It was beautiful and had plenty of room for two people. Since we were within a mile of everything we wanted to do, we were able to walk or ride our bikes everywhere. Great location. Thanks.

I was in Cape May for four days to go birding and this place was perfect. Great location on Washington Street less than a mile from the mall where all the shops and restaurants are located. Small, but fine for one person (or two). And very nice outdoor space as well.

A good beach house type apartment on Cape Island for a reasonable price. A bit cramped, but priced accordingly. This is an excellent location to either spend time at the beach, explore historic Cape May, or even venture into other parts of Cape May county.

So happy to have come across this rental - Perfect for my husband and I. Late check in was no problem, not always the case with some rentals. Thankful for the ability to catch the World Cup Game! Tastefully decorated and equipped with essentials for a long weekend. Coffee drinkers might appreciate a special mug but those provided were sufficient. Recognized the extra touches, thank you for the card and candy. Speaking of extra, an extra roll of toilet paper would be nice for guests. But, nothing a quick trip to Acme couldn’t fix. Asking guests to start the laundry was something we’ve never come across but happy to help. Understandable, being told to start the load on the way out, washer is very loud. All in all, your home is quiet and quaint. Thank you for sharing! It was the perfect place for us to escape, for some needed rest and relaxation. Hard to leave! We certainly plan to be back to Cape May and would consider your rental again next Christmas and perhaps even this summer! Happy Holidays!!

The apartment was in a quiet residential area. It was very private and close to things to do. It was clean and comfortable and a nice time to visit not crowded and easy to get around and reservations.

A cute little place. A little far to walk to the beach (1 mile) or the mall (1 mile). But a cute neighborhood, comfy couches, and bikes to borrow. (And you have to crawl into bed bc it’s tight in the bedroom on the right side of the bed). Overall, I’d stay there again.

Lovely home. We stayed in the smallest apartment which was fine for hubby and I. A bit tight but we were hardly home. Had a BBQ grill so we cooked out twice. Nice large back yard with comfortable furniture. Very quiet part of Washington Street. Ample parking. Would stay there again.

The property was very cute and well thought out to place things.
I enjoyed the outside seating area. There is a lovely restaurant Vintage, at the Physick Estate down the street. I grew up in that area so I’m familiar with everything. Very comfortable stay.
