About this house rental
It doesn’t take long to fall in love with the rolling hills and serene landscape of western PA. Residents are blessed to enjoy the year-round beauty of all four seasons, ranging from mild snowy winters to the breathtaking foliage of autumn.
Built in 1870, this house is one of a kind. Some of its unique charm includes gorgeous wooden floors and hand-blown glass windows. As you relax in your room you’ll be swept away to another century as you hear the clip-clop of Amish buggies as they drive by.
--------
Each bedroom has its own dresser, alarm clock and sound machine.
There are four full bathrooms: one with an air-massage bathtub and three with shower stalls. Each bathroom is fully stocked with towels, hair dryers, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Please note: there is no tv in the house. Our goal is to help our guests unplug as much as possible and to make memories with things like board games, puzzles and books. We do have high-speed Wi-Fi you can connect to.
The laundry room has a clothes washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.
The house is fully heated/cooled and is controlled by a thermostat in the kitchen.
There is also a spacious living room and kitchen. The fully-equipped kitchen is stocked with a Keurig coffee machine, coffee pot, snacks and a water cooler.
One of our all-time favorite places is sitting on the porch swings watching the Amish buggies drive by.
You need to climb semi-steep stairs to access the two Queen rooms and Double room. (The stairs really aren't that bad!)
There are outdoor security cameras facing both entrances to the house.
There are no hidden cleaning fees!
--------
The house is very easy to find: it's bright blue and it's right on the main street.
You can park behind the house in the gravel parking lot.
The house has entrances in both the front and back. You'll be able to access both by entering a code on the keyless entry doors.
--------
The quaint town of Smicksburg is surrounded by multiple Old Order Amish communities (complete with horse-and-buggy travel and 1800s lifestyles). Throughout the year, Smicksburg hosts a variety of seasonal festivals and activities.
Within walking distance are a variety of specialty shops that feature locally-made pottery, Amish-made furniture, country home decor, as well as a small museum. Right across the street is some of the finest fresh-made fudge you’ll ever try! And just down the road is a country diner.
Also across the street is Old Smicksburg Park that features 33 acres of beautiful landscape perfect for hiking, birding and nature study. You can take a walking tour of the park to discover historic ruins of houses, stores and churches. The park also has a small gazebo, picnic tables, and open fields to toss frisbee.
The peaceful Little Mahoning Creek winds alongside Smicksburg and provides a great location to canoe, kayak or splash around in.
14 miles down the road resides the world-famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil. He lives in the Punxsutawney library for children to enjoy. Indiana, PA is about 24 miles in the opposite direction of Punxsy.

Our family came to celebrate my graduation from IUP. This home was perfect for our family. The area is beautiful and quiet. The house is a bursting with modern essentials alongside the vintage house character.
The hosts were very responsive. Made it feel just like home from the welcome sign personalized for our visit to the large kitchen table where we could sit together. They even left a sweet card with a sweet treat to celebrate my accomplishment. ❤️

My sisters and niece went to visit our Aunt Sandy to celebrate the lives of the family we loved and lost in 2022. The Inn was perfect for all of us. It has a calming atmosphere and the personal touches made us feel very welcome. Clean and comfortable. The owners were very easy to reach and courteous whenever we communicated. We all enjoyed staying there and will return again!! Loved the whole experience and had one of the best weekends of my life. Thank you for all of that and will tell everyone of this beautiful place!

Amazing !
The Smicksburg Inn was one of the nicest places we have stayed.
There was ample space for everone.. and it was very clean and neat.
We very much enjoyed the Amish buggies going by while we were sitting on the very comfortable porch swings..The prices in the shops close by were very reasonable..
and the walk to the Lutheran Church was very enjoyable., only about a block and a half away.
We highly recommend the Smicksburg Inn ..

Lovely home
Spacious. We were 4 adults and 6 children and kids had a wonderful time together. The swings on the porch were a hit !!!
Beautiful trails nearby leading to a creek which the teenagers and the little ones enjoyed equally!
Loved the little shops which are walking distance from the house.
