The house was nice and off the beaten path which is exactly what we wanted. It's in a small community and you can see the lake from the deck. The host was very responsive when I asked questions.

For our first visit to the mountains of NC, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. This lake house was amazing- the owners attention to detail was just beyond any expectations. We enjoyed everything about it, the s'mores welcome kit was the highlight of it all.

It was such a clean and beautifully decorated cabin with such attention to detail.
We arrived at night and woke up to a stunning view of the lake and mountains. Of course, I had a yummy coffee from the coffee bar to drink while viewing. Complimentary s’mores roasted by the fire was a perfect end to the day!
Everything was perfect! Thank you again!

Well this place had almost everything you would need and a beautiful view. I wish it had a spa since I brought my bathing suit and there is no cell phone service and limited internet..but it was a wonderful cabin and a great place to relax and enjoy the lake

Really was looking for something off the grid so we could disconnect for a few days. This was it!!! Very nice home with nice amenities. Storms blew through and knocked out the power but the generator kept us going! We did encounter a bear on 3 occasions which the teens loved! Rented a pontoon from a local marina and enjoyed a few hours on the lake fishing and tubing. I am glad we drove our 4 wheel drive vehicle because the last 100-150 feet was uphill and bumpy.
Was just what we were looking for and thoroughly enjoyed the stay!!

We had an absolutely great time in late July 2023. Gorgeous views from the house. Well appointed and stocked home. Big Choga boat launch dock at entrance to property. Lakes End Marina boat rental close by. Great hiking to waterfalls and kayaking on lake and at Nantahala Outdoor Center. Fun watching movies, playing games, shooting pool and smores by the outdoor fire pit. Great time had by all!!! And during the heat of the July, the lake temperature was very refreshing!!

This property is as advertised. It was very welcoming and clean. The lakeview was beautiful and it was definitely a peaceful environment. Everything was well thought out. The children were entertained throughout the stay with the open space, games, pool table, and DVDS. The only downer was there was as advertised no internet which we found to be necessary considering cell reception was lacking in the area and we did not know our way around too well since GPS reception was poor as well. Moreover, half way through our stay due to unforeseen weather conditions we lost our water and found it difficult having to communicate with others through a landline phone and find an alternative place to stay for the rest of our vacation. The property owner though was very accomodating and assisted us with the situation which was very much appreciated. All in all this is a beautiful and warm place would recommend to others!

We spent a weekend in this peaceful location. The views of the lake are spectacular regardless of the time of day or night. While the no wi-fi cabin was a hard sale for our teenager, the available games and the fire pit more than made up for the lack of the Internet. If we could give it 10 stars, we would.

This property is set in a gorgeous location and it is a very pretty home. We stayed here for our Honeymoon.
The owners are very communicative and clearly care about the guest experience. However, there are a few ways they could make it a better stay.
The biggest issue was cleanliness of the house. There were little black dog hairs everywhere, including in the bed sheets. When we went to wash the sheets, we found a wet load of laundry in the washer, unfinished.
There were a few other cleanliness issues. The owners did refund us the cleaning fee, as we had to go to Andrews for supplies and do extra cleaning to make it comfortable.
As far as long term comfort, I think it would be good if they had more comfortable sheets, extra heating options for the bedroom, better toilet paper (it was one-ply), and the overall layout could be made more cozy. it feels like whoever set up the place has never spent more than a couple of nights there in a row. We left a day early because we just missed the comfort of our own home so much.
Over all, I think it is a lovely home and a spectacular location. However, I would not really be tempted to rent this particular home again. Hopefully the owners will take these suggestions into consideration. They clearly care about their guests, they just need to change a few things, including the cleaning procedures.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cottage. The place has been totally renovated- top to bottom - with all new furniture and appliances. Immaculate! The view of the lake was stunning and we loved the fire pit. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend. Bring your groceries though- it’s a ride to the closest store!

Remote getaway. Every inch of this property is well conceived and executed. Recently upgraded, the owners show their taste and pride throughout. More than renting a property, you’re renting a home.

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay. Being able to wake up and enjoy coffee on the deck and look out at the lake was the most relaxing thing. I didn't want to leave. Everything about the house was well appointed and thought out. I came home with a literal video of every room and the outside of the house to over time incorporate into our own home...that is how impressed we were. Our 2 small dogs were welcome there and that very important to us. I told my husband that it was at the top of my favorite vacations. I strongly urge you to book it...you won't be disappointed!

Cozy space with a gorgeous view. If you ever need to break away from the madness of the modern day demands, this is the spot! Property description is the most honest and accurate of any vrbo I have stayed at. The owners were very responsive and made everything easy. We will be staying again!

Relaxing Getaway
This beautifully renovated and decorated home made relaxing offline with the family easy and enjoyable. The hosts thought of everything: plenty of games, books, a diverse selection of DVDs, walking sticks and plenty of household supplies for the visit. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to use. They even provided dog bowls for our pooch! We would recommend to any family looking for some quality time offline together. The location is remote, with gravel road down to public boat ramp/ lake access, less than 1-mile walk. We enjoyed the round trip walk each day. For boating, we arranged with Lake Side Marina to dock our boat during the trip. An easy drive (~20 min) with a full service restaurant attached.
