I was really disappointed, the room was dated, dirty , smelly .

Loveley grounds set back from the road. Good roomy chalet, with spacious bathroom and walk in shower, though it would benefit from some updating.
Excellent breakfast with helpful staff.

Title: Worst Room I Have Ever Stayed In
I stay in over 40 hotels a year, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had. The first thing that hit me was the overpowering smell of damp when I walked into the room. The carpet looked disgusting, and the furniture was extremely dated. The mattress was so firm it felt like there was no mattress at all.
I then noticed what appeared to be a splatter of vomit or some other liquid on the skirting boards. The bathroom fittings were missing parts, and the taps and power shower were covered in limescale and dirt. Despite all this, I decided to tough it out until I went to lie down and discovered vomit on the pillow inside a clean pillowcase.
This was the final straw. I went to reception to complain and request a room change, but no other rooms were available. I couldn't stand another moment in this disgusting room, fearing what I might find next, so I packed up and left.
Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The property seemed tired and in need of renovation

Original garden room had an uncomfortable. Bed.
Hotel changed room to upgraded superior room at no extra charge. This room had a comfortable bed and pleasant outlook.
The room was unusual in that all light controls were on the RHS of the bed. the person on the LHS had no light controls at all. The bedside reading light had no seperate control.
The staff were all very pleasant and willing to please.
The breakfast was good.

No one at receptions during stay, must have walked through the reception 6/7 times.
Room doesn’t have AC and the tiniest fan is provided, way too hot.
Sat outside the bar area for 45 minutes without service even after telling staff I’d be out there. Ended up going to the pub across the road which had excellent service.
No TV remote in room.

The room was all right . But there was no room cleaning overnight. The beds were not remade and we found the towels still in the bath. If it had not been for the biscuits being changed, we would not have known that anyone had been in there. The TV had limited channels and kept cutting out We had dinner in the hotel on the first night. It was dire. Terrible tough inedible lumps of chicken in the curry and the smallest piece of over-microwaved sea bass ever. Not at all what we would expect from Best Western

Completely soulless as you enter Reception. All managed using computer screens. No humans present. Directions to my room were terrible. Given it is an old building with bolt-ons, I ended up asking the chef where to find my room. You go through a maze of corridors, and up and down stairs like a fiddler's elbow. Room was OK. Welcome folder a little dated, but boiled sweets and decent tea and coffee facilities nice touch. Can't fault the food, as went across the road to the pub for dinner. Breakfast was OK, same staff both days.

Quite a pleasant stay.

Very clean, easy check in, good location and comfy bed. Due to the age of the main building, our room had restricted room due to sloped ceiling. Fine for shorter people, something to lookout for if you are over 6ft.
Breakfast and staff were all nice. Free parking was a nice perk

Bathroom wasn’t very clean especially soap dispensers and bath… dust on skirting boards and doors. Stains on duvet and sheet

Spacious hotel with a big tranquil garden, but my room was rather small and old. I had to improvise a little.

dated, overpriced, rude staff

One night stay for business - outside appearance of the property is good - nice gardens and terrace area.
Check in us unmanned - with two self service consoles - the check in process was problematic as the console generated 3 room keys - i asked for 1 but none appeared to be programmed as there was no indication of which room i was in.
I am pretty tech savvy but this process had me flummoxed!
I had to hunt down a staff member to get a room key.
Rooms were OK, functional, I stayed in one of the garden roms - nice towels though. The hotel provided tea a, coffee and biscuits and a jar of boiled sweets and palma violets - random!
Breakfast we also good - plenty to eat - the usual faire.
Check out - similar to check in - un manned - the checkout software asked if i wanted my invoice emailed - replied - yes - but the email address was wrong - did I want to change it? yes - but no option to delete the existing email address no member of staff around to ask.
Conclusion hotel is OK but maybe need a little TLC in the guest rooms but the check-in check-out needs some work!

I stay in a lot of hotels for work. This has to be one of the worst I have stayed at. The automatic check in didn’t work, after eventually finding someone in the bar, they tried to tell me it was my fault and then charge me for a room I had already paid for. Very few staff at all, very poor attitude. Another couple I was with found a turd in their toilet bin (I kid you not). I don’t normally leave reviews, but please save yourself money and don’t stay here.

The room was old and tired, the bathroom was in very poor condition, the shower sounded like it going to take off, the bath panel was cracked and poorly fitted, the soap dispensers we’re disgusting, the carpet in the main room was heavily stained, I can go on but you need to get this sorted.

Room was so dated , shame as we have stayed here before a few years ago , waited over 15mins to be served at bar as couldn’t check till 3pm , bar man was making afternoon teas for restaurant, miss match of tiles on bathroom wall , shower curtain, electric shower from 90’s , stain on carpets , spring showing on mattress , told reception then informed all rooms in courtyard was the same so said to my wife not staying here so booked into the Angel hotel at a extra cost to our weekend away but was well worth it couldnt fort The Angel , should of booked here from beginning , would never recommend Priory , I thought my wife had taken photos but when I got to car after giving key she informed she had, so without photos no real come back

Very helpful staff in the bar area, food was fantastic even though regular chef wasn't working.
Room was pleasant, bed was hard and tv remote didn't work.

Somewhat tired room, curtains thin no blind bright sun wakes you up at 5am! Maybe we were unlucky with the room.

Very tired and outdated court yard room. In need of a face lift. Food was also poor of the evening I ate there.

This quaint little hotel is more like a bed-and-breakfast. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Absolutely would stay here again.

As a hotel, Very good, can get a little lost with how the rooms are laid out across the hotel. Good food options including good selection at breakfast. The shower in my room is incredible, staff member, Hannah (?) was very quick to resolve any issues I had with the room - including not having any towels in the room on arrival.

Due to the high cost of my family room I booked unfortunately my experience was not a good one.
Firstly due to the automated checking in & out machine did not function correctly and with no staff in reception I had to hunt down a member of staff to supply me a room key that wasn’t issued when checked in.
Secondly the room I was issued (No. 25) did not have double glazing so I did not sleep very much due to the traffic noise throughout the night then early in the morning delivery vans & dustbin van & there staff were very noisy in emptying the bins.
Thirdly the breakfast was not up to a good standard as the food was not hot as laid out in a buffet help yourself style.

friendly staff. relaxing stay.

Sadly the hotel was very warm with no way to adjust the room heating. Windows could not be opened and even with this I could clearly hear the cars from the road outside.
Also had a few things falling apart in my room and to top it off a lovely fire alarm went off at 06:50 to wake everyone up.
Just to finish my stay, the check out computer did not work and advised to speak a staff member which took me ages to find anyone.
Sadly think I will be looking elsewhere to stay on my next visit.

Beautiful grounds - on arrival had to hunt the hotel to find someone to check in - room was basic but clean - water was scalding hot or freezing cold, breakfast was very good
2.0
On first arrival to the reception ,was a very dirty carpet. then even though a young lady was at the desk, my husband had trouble checking us in, after having 4 mini strokes this year. Then our very dated and dirty room was not what we were expecting.
