Lovely hotel very convenient right infront of the beach. Lovely bar and restaurant rooms spacious and clean. No carpark just street parking.

First two nights of my stay were fine, the last night, Friday, was spoilt by the noise from a night club that went on until 3am. It was absolutely impossible to sleep.
1.5
There were no curtains , only net curtains with a transparency to the outside yard. Had I been female, I would have objected even more as someone was smoking directly outside my window in the morning with an unobstructed view of my room! The entrance to the hotel is around the corner in an adjacent street to which I was given inadequate directions as there is a club next door to the entrance of the hotel which caused confusion and irritation.. My only compliment is that it was clean and had a comfortable bed.

In the main we were very happy. We were upgraded from a double room to an apartment. Staff are very friendly, it was very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent.
There were a few things that made it impossible to give it a 5 stars, mainly noise related. The apartment was next to the rail line and another pub across the road. Triple glazing may help to resolve the issue. Also, and this was noted in other reviews so I came prepared, we stayed on a Friday night and there was a loud continous beat from the club up to 3am which my husband slept through but really disturbed me. I had brought headphones so I coped but won't stay on a Friday or Saturday in the future .
The bed while comfy was actually too big for the room it was in! A super kingsize meant that at one side of the room there was very little room to get in and out of bed.
However we will stay here again, but on a Sunday to Thursday!

Wonderful little hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

There's no elevator and no parking. We arrived on a weekend and is very popular for locals and had to park blocks away. The room is small but modern and had some issues with no telephone service and air conditioning was needing repairs. It was difficult with carrying luggage and items to the 2nd floor which is the lowest floor for rooms while the other rooms were on the third floor. If younger, this is the place for you but if older and unless you're in great shape and don't mind being without parking or an elevator this is not the place. The woman at the front desk helped us with our luggage but I felt that it was somewhat overwhelming for me. The shower and bed were adequate but the lack of parking with the threat of a major parking fine in the morning and lack of elevator made it unpleasant. We stayed in the hotel but there are apartments behind the hotel that do offer an elevator. The location is near the water and probably fun for people who have no physical limitations. It was stressful for me because it was difficult to double park in front of the hotel unload the luggage while my friend found a place to park a few blocks away.
The staff and manager were responsive, it was clean and reasonably priced but would never put myself in that situation again. I am usually very careful when reserving hotel rooms but somehow missed the lack of an elevator. It does advertise parking but its on the street if you can find a space.

Staff amazing, overal ambiance is great, many options to chill around. food and drinks options super.
Great location, especially for outdoor lovers but also for people who just want to relax and have a good time.

A lovely spot

Nice hotel, gets quite loud until about 3am since they regularly have live music in the bar. Good place to stay off you plan on attending pub life, but for a good night sleep, I'd pick another hotel.

GOOD: Bray is lovely! The Martello is a good quality hotel.
NOT SO GOOD: If you enjoy the hotel's night life or you are a light sleeper ask for a room away from the DART line at the back.
The hotel does need a secure area for leaving bags as I was told room check in was not until 4pm! I would also recommend that some of the staff don't talk about being hungover to each other, where guests can hear their conversation.

Great location right opposite beach gorgeous bar and pub . Staff lovely and the apartment really spacious . Minute walk to groceries and fully equipped kitchen. Bray buzzy and very walkable.

Great location, across from promenade and beach. Adjacent to Dart station. Friendly staff. Would certainly recommend.

Great area -,right across from the beach!

The hotel is beach front as per my choice, but the rooms are (or) 3rd floor without elevator (or) street level, with a small window not-to-opened and very noisy due to the street traffic, lorries rolling and loading beer barrels anytime and clients of the pub just in front of the windows, speaking loudly and laughing from 5 to midnight.
Unless you are very young , I would not recommend this place. But… to pay 498€ for 3 nights you must be young AND rich !!!

We loved our time at the Martello. The place is a bit old, but very clean!

Lovely area. A/C in room didn’t work well, noticed a standing fan in room as a temporary fix. Would’ve liked them to give us a heads up before moving all of our luggage in though. Receptionist provided inaccurate information regarding the entrance fee for the club. Otherwise it was alright.

When I tried to buy a drink at the bar at 19:45 on the Sunday, I was refused "because we don't serve walk-ins after 7:00" despite the fact that the bar was open and I proved that I was a resident. The reason given was that they need to clean the bar for the following Friday!. They were serving locals.

We booked for an apartment. Carpet was quite dirty. No table or chair for breakfast or dinner. It could sleep 4 people but 2 have to sleep in the living room. Apartment was behind the DART line so could hear all the trains. But this is very well situated right in front of the sea. Breakfast was not included for us but we took it in the pub and it was quite good. Staff was good and efficient. Good for a short stay

Super nice place. Had the willow suit, it was really big and very nice. The only thing is that the walls are a bit thin so you will hear your neighbours through the wall. The service was very good, location accessible.

Property needed maintenance. Apartments on back side of hotel were in need and f upgraded carpeting, paint..,

I don't usually write reviews but I loved my stay at the Martello so much. Check in was easy and the staff was lovely. Parking was very easy and not far at all -- I was also able to find parking easily both nights I stayed there. The restaurant at Martello was incredible too -- I had the best short rib I've ever had and was so happy with everything from start to finish. 10/10 reccomend!!

Didn’t like the parking. You should not have to pay a street parking ticket daily to be around the property. NO PARKING GARAGE AVAILABLE!

Staff were lovely, place was beautiful, it was a bit of a maze to get to our room, but otherwise have no complaints, it was clean and safe. Fantastic location, would definitely stay again.

Awesome hotel with good f&b facilities and options. Lack of on-site parking is a little inconvenient if you are driving. We had food and drinks everything was pretty good except the chowder was rather poorly done. We spoke to the manager who was apologetic about it.

I enjoyed my stay at the Martello during the Easter break. Staff was amazing and attentive, very friendly. The food was incredible and I appreciated the heads up regarding the noise level in the evenings, which I did not mind, since I was notified in advance. Highly recommend staying there.

Nice overall. Staff was great. Room was very small with a nice view of the wall of the building beside it.
