Nice place deep in Oxford neighbourhood. Not much around to walk to. Food was good and parking easy. Recommend if you have business in neighborhood. 1 to 1.4 hrs to LHR

The Black Boy was a lovely stay in an original pub. The staff were lovely, as well as helpful, the pub was a short walk from shops and cafes. And the staff graciously called us a taxi into Oxford. We stayed here for a wedding in Oxford and it was the perfect stay. The room was very clean, well stocked with tea and coffee, and the local soaps were nice in the clean and modern bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was great, too, with a proper full English breakfast.

They were so kind to us opening breakfast early so we could get to LHR at a time they also helped us determine. The room was great, I would recommend this to anyone. Oxford is a bit of a mess right now with all the road work so staying on the outskirts was a benefit.

As our son lives nearby my wife and i have stayed before and also been in regularly for drinks and found every experience a good one. Staff are aways so polite and helpful. Rooms are excellent and breakfast also excellent. My wife very impressed with the vegetarian breakfast as few places get this right. We have already booked to stsy again

Could not fault the friendly welcome, helpful advice on local services, breakfast and dinner options/menu and comfort/cleanliness of the Black Boy Inn. It is located within 5 minutes walk of regular bus services into Central Oxford (about 15 minutes away). It has off-street on-site parking which is important in the narrow, busy streets. Can highly recommend the Black Boy Inn for its accommodation and meals and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at The Black Boy, Headington, hidden away on the outskirts of Oxford and a cheap taxi ride into town. From the moment we arrived the manager and her staff were so welcoming and really helpful. Atmosphere was great, room comfy and breakfast lovely. Would recommend!

The room was fantastic. Loved the little touches like the high end toiletries and the linen and the bed was very comfortable. The downstairs areas look a bit tired in comparison and the food was not as exciting as expected. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place to stay and eat near to the Churchill Hospital where I was working for a couple of days. Very friendly welcome when I arrived and the room was comfortable and well furnished. If I have a small complaint it's a bit dark so reading wasn't that easy. I ate there both nights and by and large the food was VERY good. Shower was hot and breakfast choice was good although some fruit would have been good. All the staff were very personable so I have no hesitation in recommending the Black Boy to anyone.

We stayed here for one night and had a really lovely stay. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and had everything we needed; really comfy bed, tv, bottled water, kettle, plenty of tea-bags, coffee machine and hairdryer. Breakfast was delicious and we had a great meal in the pub in the evening. Would love to return.

Having a pub/restaurant downstairs was fantastic! Both nights I took my travel journal downstairs and sat and enjoyed a drink or dessert and wrote and enjoyed the fireplace. The room was quiet, with a comfy bed. The staff was warm and very helpful. The included breakfast was the best I had on my trip. I wasn't driving, so having the bus into city center just a few blocks down the street was helpful. The area around the inn was quiet and felt safe.

Lovely short stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff. Room is a good size with a comfortable bed. The hotel is nicely decorated. Parking is easy and it's a short walk to the bus to get into town which makes it easy to access the town, which is not easy to drive to. We also ate at the restaurant which was a good experience.

Lovely room to stay in. It had everything we needed. Staff were excellent, very friendly and happy to provide us with early breakfast which we ordered the night before. There was a bit of noise from pub customers sitting outside below our window but we expected this on a nice warm evening. Would thoroughly recommend staying at the Black Boy.

I was booked in for an outpatient procedure at the John Radcliffe, so decided to make a 2 day "minibreak" of it. Lovely clean room and bath/shower. Good early spring weather, so I walked both to and from the JR (15 min to West Wing). Good varied lunch and supper menus. Breakfasts (included in my tariff) were superb. Staff and landlord very helpful and welcoming. I now need an excuse to revisit!
