Not a conventional lobby entrance, but wonderful front desk staff. Our room was great with a comfortable bed.

These are Luxury rooms.
Entrance is a big downside, and then access to 2nd floor.
Once you are on 2nd floor, then you feel better.
The room was good and clean. But thunderstorm in the night brought up some of its deficiencies, like rain water came inside and its traditional green windows were making noise, i could not sleep well.
The receptionist and owner were great, i must say.
So in Summary, it is not hotel but luxury rooms only. It has good access to main landmarks, and big applause for the receptionist she is great.

First from check in you can’t find the place there a small Sognefjord amid other signs so had to call twice. Lady come down then took us across the road to accomodation
On the first floor so very noisy . Place is dirty and the bed is terrible it’s bowed on the middle so you head and legs are higher then your body .there’s a big jacuzzi which we didn’t want need or use which wasn’t in any descriptions Breakfast delivered every morning is cold and salty but better then nothing

The room was lovely with a briliant view, i didnt like the fact that there wasnt much of an entrance to the hotel, could have done with a more visable sign at the front of the building. However the staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was great!

The rooms look nothing like the pictures at all. Please do not book here!!! It was false advertisement all the way around. I'm thinking they photoshopped these pictures. No room has a view of the castle, the bed and couch was hard and also had stains on it. Don't waste your money!!!

Room was a cool idea, but poorly executed. Lots of mold in the shower/steam room and along the edges near it in the room. Check in was a hassle communicating with the front desk employees via whats app or text. Provided breakfast was store bought and coffee machine made. Not terrible, but not the best.

The only good thing about this property was the location. To begin with there is no proper “reception”. When we arrived at 8pm to check in, we were sent a message to go to a nearby restaurant to check in and when we did go to restaurant half the staff didn’t know what we were asking about and only one man knew what we meant by needing to check in but he was so busy doing his actual job which was to serve customers at the restaurant that we had to wait for him to get some free time. They took our breakfast order and confirmed timing etc but completely forgot to bring it to us in the morning and when we asked about it, they said someone had forgotten to write it down! Very very strange stay.

Our check-in process was very easy and smooth, they only have 3 or 4 rooms so they were ready and waiting for our arrival. They were so helpful with telling us about the area and how to get around, the places to explore and recommendations. The room was very beautiful with the view of Castel Nuovo and THAT BATHTUB! I think I spent two hours in there. Worth every penny to soak our feet after a lengthy Europe tour!

Nice having "sauna" in the room.
King room is separated from Queen room by an internal door, so you can hear everything from the other room. Absolutely not pleasant... Huge lack of privacy and lack of sleep...
Moreover the room stays too humid all night.
The shower kept leaking all night. It was extremely inconvenient.
Breakfast is poor. Not worth it at all.
The bed is not firm, so it tends to swallow the body during the night which is very inconfortable.
Pillow smells of sweat of other people. Also inconvenient...

Amazing hotel with even better staff. Breakfast every morning along with Netflix in the room, short walk to the port, restaurants, and major shopping areas. Modern room with excellent amenities. Would highly recommend.

My stay at Carten was great! It was a bit difficult to find because it's inside another building, but it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's nicely located near multiple restaurants and not too far from the port.

Carten is walking distance to the marina, the castle and the main shopping district which made it a great place to stay for a quick stop in Naples. Francesca was very friendly and provided us with lots of local information and tips. The hotel is a little hard to find as the rooms are located within a complex of other housing and buisnesses. It’s located on the third floor but they do have an elevator if you have luggage. Overall very clean and spacious rooms, I would stay again if visitingNaples!

Given this hotel is very small (only 3 rooms) we were greeted with a very friendly welcome with top quality service. Wonderful large rooms with modern bathroom and sauna tub. This boutique hotel is within walking distance to ferry terminal. The attentive and lovely staff helped with everything we needed as well as prepared a great breakfast. Will stay here again next time we're in Naples.

Great little gem in Naples! So close to good pizza shops and restaurants. It took a while to find the hotel, perhaps a larger sign would assist in future travellers finding the place. We were greeted by friendly staff and were extremely happy with the accommodation. Definitely a pleasant surprise and a good nights rest!

From the outside this place doesn’t look like much as it’s in a big complex. Once you’re inside it’s a totally different story. The bathtub was huge never seen one that bug in Europe before. The bed was awesome and comfy they give you their Netflix login so you can watch on a big tv was very good. The doors all were very tough to unlock and lock we went through 3 sets of keys before we finally were given the right set good thing we checked or we would have been locked out all night and missed our tour. Would check your keys before you leave was a minor flaw. Everything else was amazing would stay again our room had a great castle view.

Exceptional! The apartment was beautiful. Comfortable mattress. Upscale decor. Fantastic view of the castle and ocean and an interesting view of a busy part of old town. As noisy as it should have been the sound proof windows provided peaceful quiet inside. Met 2 of the reception staff and they were both so very friendly and accommodating. Gave great tips on things to see, places to eat, and treats not to miss. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone we can and anyone visiting naples. Perfect location.

This was our last stop on our Italy trip, and I was expecting a nice hotel to stay at to relax and prep for our 17 hr travel day back home. We arrived at the hotel and they told us our reservation was cancelled by a disgruntled ex-employee. They rebooked us into a sketchy hotel in an even sketchier area. They told us it was near the train station and that it was going to be a 4 person room - so the largest available. The new place was horrible, my boyfriend and I tried to put up with it but had to rebook a different hotel for our second night. There was miscommunication between me and Cartens. I asked if my hotel nights were going to be refunded, and from what I understood it would be, and out of good faith on their end they would pay for the new (sketchy) hotel and 50 euros for the new hotel I had to rebook myself. In the end, I did not get my refund for the original stay - I lost out the money I paid for Cartens (which had to be more than the new hotel they booked me into) and I had to pay $80 euros (reimbursed 50euros) for the new place. They didnt even arrange transport to the new hotel, only gave us money to take the subway there ourselves. I understand the cancellation was not their fault, and the girl at the front desk was very apologetic, but Im just extremely upset at: the miscommunication, the horrible first night in Naples, and paying more money out of pocket for the whole stay.

We have just returned from 3 nights at the Carten and absolutely loved it. We really hadn't expected to see a metal gate onto a very domestic looking courtyard with a name plate and a button to press for announcing our arrival. However when Manuella, a charming young lady with beautiful english, answered the intercom our stay turned out to be outstanding. After being escorted up to the second floor we were met with a high spec modern boutique 'hotel' of just 3 rooms. We were royally looked after from that welcome coffee to the moment we left 3 days later. Breakfasts were prepared just for us (mostly by 'Napi') and we had to say 'stop' on two mornings as we were already full. Afternoon tea appeared as soon as we came back from a hard days sightseeing. We were given full tourist guidance and an umbrella just in case. The staff were excellent throughout. The room was one of the most comfortable we have ever had with a super bed and a jetted bath tub complete with rain shower, waterfall, and mood lighting. All this in a stylish modern room with full facilities including an impressive 'smart' TV.
Naples is a fascinating city but is generally a little tired and worn. The Carten brightened our days and was a real find.
