Excellent service throughout my stay,

The building and contents were 'tired'. Over priced for the condition of the premises. Mattress was too big for the base. Breakfast was cold. Staff were friendly.

Its lush here rooms lovely, friendly staff, friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting and staying more often.
4.1
Just the job. Clean, comfortable and close to the Don Valley Bowl. Staff very friendly and lively bar in the evening. Will stay again whenever we go to an event.

Staff were so welcoming and friendly.
My son was welcomed by staff so kindly and no issue was a problem. Highly recommend for people staying to go to Meadowhall or Sheffield arena.
4.1
A comfortable and modern, well furnished room. Spotlessly clean throughout the bedroom and en-suite.

All the staff were some of the most amazingly friendly and helpful people i have met. I would definitely stay again if i was going to a concert at the Sheffield arena. Its only a 10min walk away! 10/10. Thanks to all the staff who made my daughter and I feel so welcome.
4.1
Close to the arena and all the stuff round there. Friendly staff, very good fried breakfast, decent little pub. Would definitely stay here again.

Advertised as tea/coffee-making facilities in room but there were none. Decent sized room with very comfy beds, clean bedding and towels. Shower rather tired. Very noisy - music switched off around 2am but could still hear people talking until 5.45am so not a good sleep! Staff very friendly and helpful. Had expected more for the money paid.
4.1
Noisy. No tea in room or even glass for water. No breakfast included.

Amazing staff, couldn't do enough to make me feel welcome and go out of there way to ensure my dietary needs were met. Thank you

It was a very cheap deal we got for 4 people but room wasn’t good. Quilts were frayed covered up with cover, shower was cracked and grubby in corners, cobwebs in room. The worst was the noise of music from pub below until 2 am the drunk people shouting and singing until 3am!! Came home shattered. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful, no tea/coffee/kettle in room had to pay £2.50 for mug of water with a teabag out of machine. Breakfast was good for £8.

Nice rooms, friendly staff and reasonably priced

Perfectly nice and comfortable. Its not trendy but does the job nicely for a very reasonable price. The people were friendly.
Its a little bit noisy on the main road so id avoid if i was a light sleeper.

Great place. Very glad i picked this place over a hotel chain. Very reasonable price to stay. Lovely people. Very welcoming. Great atmosphere. All i needed was a place to lay my head after a late night hockey game and this place was perfect. Had a great nights sleep.Thank you for giving us a great stay.

Fantastic vibe- owners are great and the girl tending to everyone (sorry I forget her name) was absolutely fantastic. Went above and beyond. Perfect atmosphere- felt like what the Boho NY hotels try and do but this was for real. Bed comfy, great shower. Will
Stay again.

This ‘hotel’ is above a pub so noise was very loud until midnight. The mattress was very hard but otherwise comfortable. The room was mostly clean. However our biggest issue was regarding the parking. We parked our car in their car park and advised them that we would be leaving by 9am the next morning. However once we checked out, the car park was behind a locked gate and there was another car blocking us in. We called the hotel multiple times but no one answered. Eventually we were able to re-enter after someone else left and spoke to the housekeeper. She called the manager for us but he didn’t answer. We were told that he is usually in by 9am but he had been drinking the night before and would probably not be awake for a while. It was clear to us that this happens often. On the external door there was a mobile number for contacting them out of hours but it was switched off. Eventually we forced the gate open and the people blocking our car in were able to move their car for us. This made us almost 30 minutes late leaving, despite the staff knowing what time we were checking out. This was incredibly unacceptable. There is clearly no staff on property overnight so if an emergency arises, there will be no one available to help. We will not be staying here again.

We booked this hotel due to its location to the utility stadium as it was for a concert.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel and rooms are very run down and the room itself did not appear to be very clean. A big issue for us is red bedding and towels so we were not sure if they were clean or not. The blinds in the room were broken on one side. There was wood broken on the door which looked like at some point the door had been broken into which did not fill us with lots of confidence!
When we came back from the concert the bar area to walk through was very full and while we felt safe enough with the local bants it could be that some other people may not like it.
We were only there briefly for one night and for our purpose it was fine but I would not recommend this hotel for more than that

Received a phone call on the morning of our stay, to ask if we needed anything for our stay, which was a nice touch.
There was no parking on site, but plenty on local roads.
Staff were friendly and helpful, the bar had a great atmosphere, the room was clean and comfortable, and the Full English breakfast is a must!
Would definitely stay again.

Booked last minute for a gig. We had a quadruple room which was nice and clean and beds were comfy. Such a warm welcome from everyone. Check in was easy. Nice little bar, pool room, lots of snacks and food available. Thank you.

The staff at the hotel were so friendly and made us feel very comfortable and were very helpful. Lovely quirky pub/hotel and was a quick walk to the arena .

Booked through Hotels.com, but the could not find the booking.
Photos did not portray the pub and downstairs facilities, quite rough and ready.
Room very basic, generally clean but some attention to detail could be improved.
Toilet did not flush.
Handy for the arena.

I made a mistake booking this hotel for the dates I wanted and when I arrived and there was no booking, the staff could not have been anymore accommodating. Extremely friendly staff and also the pub has a great atmosphere. The rooms were very clean but the noise from the public outside kept us awake most of the night but it was a Friday night.
I would definitely stay at the Don Valley again

Noisy and dirty
4.1
Excellent hotel, fab spacious rooms, clean comfy bedding. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Close to tram stop for easy access to arena and Meadowhall.
Only a few niggles, but not enough to put me off staying here again…. Only a couple of plug sockets in the room, difficult negotiate straighteners, chargers, etc when there’s a few staying in one room. The extractor didn’t work in the bathroom, as there were no windows in the bathroom it became very hot and stuffy after a few showers. The hotel can be quite noisy at night but think it’s just an old building so noise travels.

Towels were clean but had musty smell.

Room very basic very bad odour in the room needs a lot TLC bathroom needing attention, was told breakfast was served from 7.30am so decided to eat there got up no service what so ever so my grandson who was competing in a gymnastics competition had to go without breakfast. Would not stay again

I can see why they get good ratings, it's not a bad place to stay... But this is depending on who you are and who else is there. Staff were helpful and friendly.room was reasonably comfortable, and on top floor we couldn't hear the bar but the road was noisy. Reasonably clean but mould in bathroom and muck under bed.
However I wouldn't recommend it for families /lone females.
The entrance is through a members bar which had several very drunk people in which frightened our children. And we had the grim sound effects of neighbours vomiting in the night. The staff told us they go off shift at midnight meaning no staff were on the premises if there were any problems. We had no problems, but didn't feel at ease.
The ensuite had a sensor light which stayed on with a fan, and the sink was in the bedroom, so we disturbed each other each time using the loo in the night.
Parking only available on a side street.

Good for a cheap stay - situated above a noisy pub/members club but was on the top floor and the noise didn't really reach that far. Note that entrance to accommodation is through the main bar area, but accommodation floors are secured via a key fob.
Couple of things in room were a bit rough round the edges (most notably in my room was a window blind that couldnt be opened/closed and the bar staff didn't know how to do it either!) but clean and perfectly fine for a short overnight stay.
One note of caution - not the hotel's fault but the walk from the nearest tram stop is probably not advised alone after hours - would recommend getting a taxi/Uber direct to the entrance if returning late at night.
