What a wonderful vacation spot! This home is well appointed all around. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked with top of the line appliances, bathrooms are clean with awesome showers. There are so many games to keep entertained in bad weather. Loved that kayaks, paddle board, canoe and floats were all there for our use. Great sound system at the dock, too! Fire pit area is clean and comfortable. Fenced in yard was so nice for the dog! WiFi works well. They’ve truly thought of everything for a worry free get away!!

Everything about this house was wonderful. Looking forward to renting it again next year. Great home, great yard space for our dog, great pier, great cove. Already missing it!!
4.4
The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. With direct access to lake and use of kayaks and paddle boards we had a fabulous time. Definitely dog friendly. Owner is lovely and Vacasa team was responsive to questions. We would stay again.

The Last Cast is a lovely property for quiet weekend away at Lake Anna. A couple of things need to be addressed by property management (dishwasher rack wheels broken, needs a garbage disposal or strainer for the sink, master bedroom fan loose/loud, sound system throughout the house with no instructions on use and the entry steps to the lake are unsafe) but overall very spacious home with great rec space in the basement. Really appreciated having a crib and a pack-n-play on premise. No highchair, so do bring your own if needed. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. The water toys (kayaks, paddler board, canoe, floats, beach toys) were great. Sound system and mini fridge in the boat house too. Kitchen was moderately well stocked (no measuring spoons) including a coffee grinder, nespresso machine, keurig machine and coffee maker (bring your own filters though). You are on the private side of the lake, so we used Boatsetter and a local gentleman delivered his boat to us at the dock just around the corner which the house owns a slip/access to, there are instructions in the book at the house to access this. We were able to pull the boat up directly to the dock at the house with some careful maneuvering but the lift at the house is blocked from renter use.

We had a wonderful long weekend getaway for our family at this home. Extremely comfortable, clean and relaxing. Wonderful house if you have a family dog along for the journey!
4.4
We had a lovely time here! It was just the refresh we all needed. There were parts of the house that could definitely use some TLC (ie. broken trim, missing lightbulbs/insufficient light), but our group wasn’t too bothered by those things. The hot tub could have been cleaner (some of our group got rashes), but the other amenities made up for it. Despite the negatives, we would (and will) stay here again.

We used this property for an auxiliary retreat. The house is beautiful and very spacious. The view is beautiful.

Let’s start with the positives. The property was very clean! The location is great and the layout of the home is excellent for a larger group. However, there were several little things that collectively really put a damper on our family’s Thanksgiving vacation.
1. The WIFI did not exist. Vacasa set up a HotSpot on Day 2 but the home has 5 smart TV’s and no cable with 10 guests. Not really a solution.
2. You can not open the dishwasher. You have to shift but the fridge and the dishwasher to be able to open the dishwasher door. Even then you scrape across the the fridge. It’s a joke.
3. 1 towel per guest and no laundry detergent. Really?
4. The listing boasts a 2-story fireplace but there’s a sign on the hearth. “Please do not use the fireplace”. I’d suggest a gas insert so guests can enjoy the space.
5. No wine glasses…bring your own I guess.
6. Hairdryer doesn’t work so bring your own.
7. Main floor bathroom - shower head is clogged so you have to hold on to the French shower head.
The property has so much potential but the owners / management really should stay there for a few days to understand what the property needs.
I hope this helps management fix real problems and helps future guests make informed decisions on where to spend their money to get the best value for their vacation.

Fun weekend with family. House was clean and well supplied with all the essentials. Had lots of fun things to keep us all entertained but by far the shuffleboard and hot tub were the best.
4.4
This lakefront home accommodated our group perfectly! Everything you could want was there! We had a tremendous time, and would certainly stay again!

Pros:
There's a TON of stuff to do in and around the house. The house is stocked with different board games as well as an overwhelming amount of audio equipment and steroes. In addition to the propane BBQ, there's a knock-off version of a komodo egg as well which was fun to play with. All toilets are equipped with Bidets which were pretty neat. The house itself was pretty clean and the beds were adequately comfortable. Also, the gas/propane range in the house was pretty nice as well. The crib was acceptably clean, although we did bring and use our own sheets.
Cons:
The dishwasher has to be angeled a certain way to make sure the door can clear the fridge. The hot tub seemed to have a broken filter so after a half hour or so it seemed like we were hanging out in a tub of dead skin. The kayaks were in decent condition, but the seats were broken so you kinda had to jimmy-rig them upright. There was also only 1 kayak paddle as far as I could tell, although there were other single oar paddles that could get the job done. The audio equipment was honestly overwhelming and we only ever figured out how to get FM radio to play through the system. Interestingly, there is a record player (not sure if they work) in nearly every room. The wifi can be spotty at times, but we were primarily there to unplug anyways

The fenced in yard for the dogs was amazing.

What we appreciated:
- Fenced in front yard and back yard for dogs
- Lots of interior space for adult common area + kids/game common area
- 3.5 bathrooms
- Modern appliances
- Deck area connected to kitchen and living common area is well laid out.
- Fire pit area is well placed
- Landscaping is well maintained
- Deck area had a working water slide, life jackets, float tubes, kayaks and canoe
- Very big lake to do water sports (like pontoon dragging tube); water was super warm (you're on the private side of the lake. no access to public side of the lake).
What could use some work:
- Wifi/internet access was slow, laggy
- Dishwasher doesn't open all the way because the fridge is in the way
- Can use more towels (we had 10 people)
- Not as many things to do in immediate vicinity
- Hot tub and shower could use TLC cleaning
Overall, we were happy. Some things were out of their control, but VACASA sent great service providers & they us back on track - i.e. The HVAC air malfunctioned, but they got someone out there and got it fixed in 24 hours. The dryer malfunctioned, and they also got that fixed in 24 hours.
The VACASA general number has generic info where people only read from the VACASA listing details. Only if you're persistent enough will they put you through to the regional area VACASA handler to get more specific help. Once we got to our regional person, then access to them was fairly easy (real people/numbers).

While the home was overall as advertised, the AC was frosty, and we had a nice time there were several things that were less than ideal. First and foremost if you want accurate information, call don’t message. Every message I sent through VRBO app was replied to by a different person and they simply got information wrong that was corrected when I called. When we got there there was a broken curtain in the main floor bedroom, no wine glasses, and the steps to get into the lake were janky and unsafe. None of these were worth contacting the host about but we’re definitely disappointing. If the price was less, I would have given 4 stars but for what we paid I expected more.
4.4
House was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room to accommodate our group.

We enjoyed staying here very much with our pups. The lake is beautiful and serene. It was fun to fish from the pier. The house had all the comforts of home and everything was clean and neat. We couldn’t figure out how to turn on the tv,( it wasn’t plugged in!) and the property manager was very prompt in her response, and sent Maintence over right away. We would recommend this rental to anyone, it’s very big and roomy so great for large family gatherings, with accommodations for children and dogs.
4.4
Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this home. However, we did not like the property management and would never work with them again. It would be so easy to have a checklist- does the TV remote work - yes/no. If no, do you need to change the batteries. Even though the ice maker says it’s on, do you see any ice? We had to go out and purchase batteries, ice, search through drawers to find soap, etc. Ridiculously annoying after you’ve traveled so far.
4.4
This house is great for families traveling with dogs. Two large fenced in yards for the dogs to run. Lake time at the house was the highlight of the trip. Very little to do in the surrounding area in April (no minigolf, arcade, gold panning, or visitors center at the state park in the off season) so the house and lake activity was the entertainment. We were very thankful for great weather.
There may be wildlife living in the ceiling of the bedroom over the primary bedroom so that caused some concern.
The Vacasa listing through VRBO is confusing. Vacasa does not answer the VRBO chat in a timely manner (or ever) and the call hold time during non business hours is very long with Vacasa (we gave up). Paying two fees (Vacasa and VRBO) is definitely NOT necessary as VRBO just tells you to contact Vacasa so they do not provide customer support. Book directly through vacasa and save some money as there is no value in this set-up and you will not necessarily get the customer service, quality linens, or little extras most VRBO hosts provide compared to a rental agency.

We had an amazing stay at the cabin for our little getaway after a busy week. We loved the hot tub, all the games, and fire table on the deck. Just what we needed. Thank you!

We enjoyed our family time celebrating my wife's 50th birthday with our entire family. It was great being able to all stay together.
4.4
Overall it was a great place to spend the weekend with my friends. Only thing I want to mention is the baby crib is full of dust. It needs to be cleaned thoroughly. My baby likes sleeping in her crib so I was looking forward to have her sleeping in there but after seeing all the dust even after my husband and I attempted to clean it, it was just too much so we decided to go with the play pen instead.
4.4
The house and grounds were beautiful (minus the ugly power lines and nuclear power plant just up the road). We loved fenced yard in front and back, felt safe letting our dog out either door. You could walk down and sit on the dock to walk the sun going down or sit up on the back deck. The jacuzzi was great, worked well and in great location overlooking the water. We like the layout of the house.
Had a scare when we first got there and the hot water late on a Sunday but Vacasa quickly called us back with the fix. There is a black unit sitting on top of the water heater and a switch that you turn off then back on, it resets the unit- crisis averted. Did make us question how clean the dishes were but we just ran a load in the dishwasher once the heat was back. Coffee machine had to be deep cleaned- it was filthy. We we frequently irritated by the kitchen sink getting backed up due to not having a garbage disposal and all of the TVs so small but I guess that is just due to what we are used to at home. The "large" TV in the living room was not very large (maybe 45" at best) and the bedrooms were the size of my laptop monitor. The furniture was not very comfortable but that's what I have found at most rentals, especially pet friendly one - understandable. Think more could be done with the downstairs space but that's just me.
Overall we enjoyed our time here. The house is beautiful and plenty of space for a family to have a wonderful lakeside vacation. Great place for a relaxing getaway.

Arrived to 3 separate doors unlocked and one set of doors wouldn't actually close. Had to call maintenance to come and repair it. Hot tub was unplugged upon arrival so had to wait until it heated up. Realized it doesn't shut off unless you unplug it. Filthy bathrooms as mentioned in other reviews. Dont be deceived by the great pictures. The overhead shower sprays nearly everywhere but down. Clothes leftover from previous guests by hot tub and bedroom. Dishwasher opens a quarter of the way until it hits the refrigerator and cant be opened any more. Not what I expected for spending a small fortune for two nights. Checked out two weeks ago and host would never respond to me. I just heard today that I was going to receive a paltry refund.. how kind. If there were some type of communication and more of a refund was given, I'd be happier. Booked through VRBO but it's all handled by Vacasa, which was weird.

Lots of room, very clean, and beautiful spot on the lake.

Lovely cabin home. Very spacious. My friends and I had a great time.

Beautiful property, very woodsy and cozy. Fenced in yard for the dog, right on the lake. Would book again.

Our family of 6 adults & 2 dogs, stayed at this beautiful log home over the Christmas holiday. It was a perfect setting for a cozy Christmas!
The home was clean & spacious. The kitchen is beautiful & a terrific place to cook a gourmet meal! Plenty of storage area & a new large refrigerator. One minor issue was not being able to open the dishwasher all the way, as the new refrigerator blocks the dishwasher. We managed to put dishes into the dishwasher, but not as easily as one would if the door was able to open fully.
We enjoyed the lower level which included bumper pool & shuffle board, although there wasn't sand for the shuffle board, so we didn't get to use that, which was disappointing for us.
We enjoyed the hot tub, but felt the heater struggled to keep us warm when 4 adults were in it & the Temps were around 8°-30° outside...it was a very cold few days!
Our dogs enjoyed the fenced front & backyards & it was such a relief to know we could let them out to run & play & they were safe & visible to us, this was a great feature if you travel with a dog!
The inside of the home is beautiful with log & knotty pine walls & flooring. Onr thing that were a bit disappointing, given the fact that it is featured in photos & encompasses a large portion of the family room, was the lack of a working fireplace. We arrived on a very cold & windy evening & would have loved to have been able to have had a fire burning in the fireplace! A gas fireplace would have been wonderful, but unfortunately we weren't able to use the fireplace & it drew in more cold air instead of providing warmth on a cold winter's night.
The other small issue we had was a large gap between the French doors in the kitchen seating area. Cold air blew through the doors so strongly that we had to fill the gap with paper towel to block out the cold.
The main floor Primary bedroom was lovely & the bed was very comfortable! The bathroom is well appointed with a shower, tub & double sinks.
One of the Best & most unique features in each bathroom, was the heated bidet toilet seat! We all enjoyed having a warmed seat when it was so cold out! Terrific feature!!
The two bedrooms upstairs each had comfortable beds & the bathroom was beautiful with large shower that included a bench
We did notice that the sound proofing between the main & upper floors seemed nonexistent, as we could hear every movement & word spoken of the person in the room above us.
Overall, we would recommend this home!
4.4
Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay here. Our visit was during the cold December weather, so it was not based on the "lake experience", but rather on the home itself. The home has a real cozy cabin feel and is decorated very thoughtfully. It appeared to have been kept clean and we did not find any bugs or rodents.
I will just point a few things out which were not really a bother for us, but worth noting. A few glasses were found cracked in the kitchen cabinets, a lamp in the main living area had a broken / crushed base and could barely stand upright, the upstairs shower didn't drain water well and accumulated quickly, and we had not known there was a separate thermostat for the upper floor and so the first couple nights were cold up there (we later discovered it, would have been nice to know in advance). We reported the broken or faulty things to the Vacasa staff by text, and so those things will likely get taken care of. Notice that we still give the home 5 stars, because those things are just routine maintenance issues that result from many guests coming in and out over the year, and we understand that.
Kitchen: Clean with modern appliances. New microwave was not functioning but there was another large one on the floor so it seemed they were in the process of replacing one. There was a small one on the counter however for use. The kitchen however had basically everything we needed. There was even an additional small fridge for any extra items.
Living area: Cozy, beautiful fireplace, very "layed-back" cozy furniture, and overall a wonderful place to relax and wind down. Though the home is pet friendly, which we appreciate, the wood floor was tough and we didn't take much notice to scratches and stuff like that. We didn't find any pet fur all over the place which is also a plus.
Bedrooms: Clean, and no bugs, and looked very nice, exactly as in the pictures. In fact, the entire home is exactly as we had expected from the images.
Bathrooms:
There is a full bath on each floor, and they were clean. As noted above, top floor shower just didn't drain water well when we arrived, which we already reported and I am sure they will take care of it. The bathrooms were clean and cozy. Thank you !
Basement (First floor): This opened up to the back yard. Nice bedroom and full bathroom. Fun games for the kids. They have a shuffleboard table, foosball table, and a bumper pool table. There is no television down there, but our kids played cards/boardgames anyway. There is a large bookshelf with books and some games but we didn't really use it.
Outdoors: We can't say much about this since the weather was quite cold and rainy, we spent most of the time indoors while there. We did grill once from the balcony and the view of the lake is very nice !
Overall, 5 stars, we plan to come visit again when the weather is warm, to have the "lake experience" here. Thank you !

First class cabin at a perfect location!

What a wonderful holiday weekend. The cabin is beautiful and had a great layout for the 5 adults in our group. Even though the weather only cooperated one day, we were able to enjoy the outdoor amenities on that day and will be back to enjoy them in another season. Highly recommend.

Perfect vacation rental
4.4
Fantastic home, very clean. Incredibly accommodating for a large dog and two young children. We look forward to going back!
4.4
We had 7 adults study and everything was perfect. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting down on the dock and around the fire pit.
4.4
Everything was wonderful from the house to the hot tub to the dock. Beautiful, cozy interior with a nice deck to relax on. We enjoyed the home and would rent here again! Our dogs loved the yard!
4.4
We stayed 4 nights and wanted to stay longer. Great house and location. Kids loved the water slide, kayaks and paddle board. Had a little trouble with shower not draining in basement bathroom but management was very quick to send out maintenance to address the issue. We will book again next year for our family get away.
4.4
My family and I booked this last minute for a mini family get away. We usually go to the beach, but wanted to try something different with the kids( 3 and 9 year olds). We definitely enjoyed our time at the lake! The house is absolutely stunning, and looks brand new! We loved the log cabin feel, and the inside looked completely renovated/updated. We spent most of our time outside on the lake kayaking, swimming and paddle boarding. You also have access to a slide, fire pit, and plenty of lake toys! We were able to bring our dog with us and it was so nice to have the fenced in backyard. We also enjoyed the hot tub and a ton of fun games when we headed inside for the night! We had one minor maintenance issue and it was resolved within the hour! We made so many memories in such a short time! We can’t wait to come back!
4.4
This house is in a great location and is exactly as pictured. We enjoyed our stay and spent more time outside than inside. The dock and water 'toys' are fantastic. The fenced yard was great for our dogs. Everything was clean and well stocked. It's a great place to relax and unwind.
4.4
You will love your stay at the last cast! My family and I went for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We love that it is dog friendly and there are large fenced areas for them to run. Lots of water toys to play with so we spent a ton of time on the dock. We had four adults and three children and it would’ve accommodated 10 easily. If you get a chance to book it, don’t think twice, just do it!
