I would not stay here again. The room was very dirty and my kids feet were black from walking barefoot on the floors. The worst part of all was that the bathroom smelled like sewage and the toilet wouldn’t flush and when it did the toilet would just keep running. The door to the room didn’t have any extra security locks and the blinds didn’t stop any light from coming in. It looked like daylight in the room in the middle of the night because of the lights outside.

The room was ok, nothing wrong with it.
The real issue was parking. They probably have only enough spaces for half of the rooms at the hotel so you have to park on the street outside which is all metered from 8AM to 8PM. A lot of that parking is also permit only from midnight to 6AM.
We got back to the hotel late and had to drive around for 20 minutes trying to find a metered spot that would be legal to park in.
They also only have one employee at the check in counter and they go home at night so there’s nobody to help if you have minor requests. There is an emergency phone number but I didn’t have to call it.

You’re very accommodating on a late arrival

Facilities were fine: friendly employees, no frills, comfy bed, close to the beach, good price. Candy, coffee, ice water and earplugs available in the lobby. Tough parking, dirty pool.
But the biggest problem was the inability to contact them. They ran my card prior to check in and sent a text message stating that it had been declined, putting the reservation at risk. I attempted to call multiple times with no answer. I found different numbers online and no answer. Had to jog over from the beach to get it all sorted.
Turns out they keep a very small staff, and the receptionist has to leave the lobby to respond to the needs of guests. It doesn't run smoothly. Maybe not a dealbreaker, especially with how expensive hotels get around the beach, but it was pretty frustrating.

Deadbolt did not work

The room was very clean and served all of our needs. The bed was very comfortable. We were disappointed that the pool was closed and not clean for use.

Cool little place just a couple blocks from the Warf and Beach Board Walk
3.5
The room was decent. Maybe the floors could use a cleaning. There isnt enough hot water for shower. Hotel was convenient to Wharf and Boardwalk.
3.5
Great location in walking distance to downtown, Wharf and Boardwalk.
Room was clean and beds comfortable. Old but so don’t expect perfection, but price is great off/on season.

Could be cleaner. Knobs and counters felt sticky. Bed had stains on the bottom sheet that covers the box spring. It’s an affordable motel in Santa Cruz with limited parking.
Front staff (Jessica) was super nice! And we appreciated the walkability to the wharf.
Even for a budget-conscious traveler. overall just ‘ok’. I feel cleanliness is really a minimum expectation.

Right next to the pier an Boardwalk, very nice!

Always nice and close to the beach

It was a decent room at a good price and great location. Room was clean, bed was comfy and shower was hot. Pretty much everything we needed.
3.5
Only 1 bedside lamp. And it did not work didn’t find out until 1 AM when we returned to the room. There should be lamps on either side of the bed on each nightstand. Floors were dusty dirty when walking across them barefoot had to wait feet off before getting into bed. There was no full length mirror. round it on walkway outside door should have safety color on it at the edge to avoid tripping hazard while walking down. Or coming out of the door when sunlight is in your eyes. For the price I expected more, location was, however, wonderful.

Parking was a challenge but hotel was accommodating. The town close at 9pm. Not much for food but the shop across the road had killer food.

Run down

Great stay. I would revisit here. Would recommend more parking spaces.

Walking distance to beach

room is not clean.
3.5
Room was pretty dirty especially the bathroom walls and floors and the parking was ridiculous, there was definitely not enough for the number of guests at the motel
3.5
No outside bath room

Great motel for the price. Conveniently located within walking distance of the pier. My only gripe is that the iffice does not open until 3pm so no early check on even thoughi responded to a text from the telling them i would arrive at 2.

The property is a bit dated but clean and pleasant. The pool was clean and the grounds were well kept. Ricardo at the front desk was polite and inviting.
3.5
Great stay. I loved the location. The beach was a short walk, downtown was close by. The room was very clean. A little tight in the parking lot.

Really good

Conveniently located

Was locked out of my room for over an hour due to the key slot not working. Someone finally showed up and helped me but they couldn’t give me new keys the door slot was broken they had to use a machine to open my door. I paid $250 for the night & $100 deposit , when I complained to the front desk she said a manager should get back to me within 2 weeks for a possible refund or discount. I’m sure I’ll end up having to fight for my refund, but rather just never stay here again. We got a room our 2nd night somewhere else, didn’t want to deal with the hassle and lack of customer service.

this property had a clogged shower when I stayed here for one night on my road trip down to the states. I would never have booked, had I known the plumbing system is broken. Absolutely gross
3.5
People were smoking right outside our window.
3.5
The rooms were clean, but my coffee maker was broken, the refrigerator didn't cool and it was broken, the dryer, it barely worked, the location was perfect but they have very old things and they don't change them.
3.5
No useable internet. Bathroom fixtures old and in need of replacing. Chipped bathtub. Coffee maker did not work.
3.5
Very helpful staff
3.5
Comfy bed.
3.5
I liked how close we were to the boardwalk but the room had visible signs of some needed to be done
3.5
Walking distance to boardwalk and the Municipal Pier. Lobby had sand toys for kids. Pet friendly. I thought it might be noisy, but it was quiet.
3.5
Convenient quick walk to the boardwalk and pier. Clean.

You’re paying for the location with this one. It’s within easy walking distance of the beach and waterfront. The hotel itself is fine, but not spectacular. The parking situation is less than great. There simply aren’t enough spots for the number of rooms.
3.5
Nice cheap place and great location. But terrible parking. Had to park around the corner the first night
3.5
The check in was easy, not far from the beach. This is a hotel that let's you bring your pets, that is why we stayed here..

i love the room was spacious , i don't know if all the rooms are like the one i got ,, but you can dance around the room . so if you have a n extra inflatable mattress for the extra guest this is good.. my kid likes to sleep by himself so he carried his twin inflatable mattress and we had extra room. no carpet floor is a must for me ..no weirdd smells besides california cannabis like usual:) all good . breakfast in the corner across the street is very good in the coffe shop .
