Lovely and peaceful however, the bed wasn’t comfortable and the toilet cistern had a problem.

A lovely couple of days away. Very comfortable, friendly staff.

Staff very helpful and friendly.
Hotel looking a bit tired.

We stayed one night in a standard King room.
The air con and radiator were not working so could not change the temperature in the room. Thankfully it was not cold outside.
Bed was comfortable with a topper on it, but in the morning showed signs of sagging in the middle of each half.
Bathroom. Plus side, plenty of hot water and a decent sized bath. Negative - extractor fan didn't work so the room very steamy.
We reported the issues with the front desk and was told they would report it to maintenance.
Evening meal was ok but didn't come up to the
expectation of the description.
Overall, the hotel is tired, the staff not very attentive except a student waitress who was very good.
We will not stay here again even though it would be very handy for our needs.

Really rundown hotel. Issue with drains when I was there where both baths/showers wouldn’t drain normally

The hotel was average ,and the breakfast was awful, bacon was grey and completely no options for sugar free meals ,we have paid £24 each for breakfast and had only eggs. The lady at reception wasn't nice at all .

2nd stay here. Room and ensuite good as before, service from reception is okay. Smell of cannabis in grounds of hotel and in corridor to room, another guest also complained of this

This was a 2-night stay with my son. It is about a 25 minute drive into Southampton from here, booked as we were visiting Southampton. Plenty of car parking, greeting by staff on entry was pleasant. I had booked a room with 2 single beds and on getting to room (132) the 2 single beds were pushed together, not enough space to seperate them. The room was a long walk from the reception. Ensuite for room was on the smaller size, the TV control in the room would not provide a guide to the channels. Kettle and drinks making were inside the TV cabinet, desk with chair to work at if required. Beds were comfortable and curtains blocked out all light from outside.

Convenient stopover after French ferry. Not a very friendly check in. Over worked bar staff struggled to keep the tables clean. Breakfast was good. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

We used the hotel to do Paultons park. Nice size family room but they really need some TLC. No tv remote, no A/C only heat coming out so the room was boiling. The most disappointing was the bathroom- get some mould and Mildew remover, and clean the drains.
Restaurant food was a bit of a hit and miss depending on what you ordered.

We only had one nights stay but the guy on reception was very pleasant and was informative and helpful. The room was clean / tidy. Large comfortable bed. We had an evening meal which was to a high standard and the breakfast was very good. Can’t fault the place for the time we had.

Arrived 4pm room not ready, went for a drink no cups available for pot of tea,. Rubbish observed on floors still there 24 hours later. Food quality ok but very much pub standard. Breakfast choice extremely poor very limited eg only fried eggs available. Had used the hotelppreviously but now very tired.

I chose this hotel for the facilities and they did not let us down. The bed was luxurious and I slept like a baby. The really disappointing thing was the breakfast. For £44 for two people you would expect at the very least that the items were cooked. The sausages were so anaemic that it was hard to get the fork into them and the egg whites on the fried eggs were still liquid. There were no hash browns all in all a very disappointing end to a lovely stay.

Lovely hotel, spa treatments and food were good but several things let it down - spa facilities are just a small pool, sauna and steam room.
- dinner is a £25 allowamce per person which only just covers a main or part of a starter as well (if lucky). Had a pasta dish amd included a chicken breast for additional £5 but the chicken was non existent and portion size smaller compared to another guest who chose not to have the extra chicken.
-paid extra for a super exec but shower didnt drain away very quickly and curtains hanging off. Only 3 pods for coffee machine when there were 2 of us in the room.
All in all very poor value for money!

A friend and I stayed for 2 nights. We simply wanted a break. We went to the pool, steam room and sauna. When we arrived the door to our room was open and could not be shut. The lady at reception resolved this immediately by giving us a different room.

There is no way this is 4*. Threadbare carpet in the bar, pub menu food, corridors and rooms need updating, trays of food not picked up, the pool area looked like a bomb had gone off with cups, towels and discarded spa slippers laying around. The reception area is very nice, but it's lipstick pn a pig. 3* at best!

Great stay, comfortable bed and the pool and facilities are great

The hotel was clean and comfortable but lacked atmosphere. The reception staff were not very helpful regarding a request to change the breakfast time and the cooked breakfast was only lukewarm.

Another great stay here. Very comfortable and a lovely nights sleep.

Property is nice, rooms are big and spacious. Unfortunately there are no room amenities such as water bottles, tea bags, milk etc. The TV is very old and needs updating. Other than that the staff are very friednly and polite.

Stayed in this hotel in various rooms over the course of about 2 weeks. The hotel is nice enough, although rooms are dated and lacking in total cleanliness. As I had other things on, didn't have the energy to complain but at one point noticed pieces of chocolate under the desk. Another issue is there are hardly any plug points in the rooms and none by the bed to charge a phone, etc.
The biggest problem is with service at the various touch points - all the staff are lovely and do the best job they can but seem to be hamstring by a management team that often leaves them having to be out of position. Most of the time, the bars are left unattended, that is even if they open at the time they say they will, and during evening service, there is no way a bartender from the Gallery Bar should be making but also serving drinks to patrons in the restaurant. Unfair on the staff.
Overall, if you get a cheap rate and don't expect the world, you'll be fine.

You should be made aware at the time of booking that kids are not allowed to use the pool for the majority of the day. We arrived early to use the pool and couldn't. We would of also liked to use it in the morning before we left but couldn't with the kids not being allowed in. Also everybody that arrived for check in was told to come back just after 3 without checking if their room was ready, this just created a big crowd in reception and massive queue at 3pm which could of mainly been avoided.
1.5 / 5.0
Check in was slow due to only one person being in the desk at 3pm - check in time; not helped by guests from a wedding pushing in front and their pals allowing it.
Overall good rooms, nice location, might suggest a bit of bleach on the bathroom grouting and a free biscuit on the tea tray wouldn’t have gone a miss either.

Very nice especially for the price.

Overall good but could do with modernisation with small issues like no usb charging ports in room. Most hotels nowadays have these so traveled without a plug then had to buy one from local supermarket to charge devices but as I said generally good hotel

A treat for the Granddaughters
They loved the pool
We decided to drive out to Botley and Dine at a local pub
2.0 / 5.0
Unfortunately in my room the shower tray was filling up with water due to slow draining. The sink was slow draining and the toilet has very little flush. All three issues were raised at reception. The evening meal was excellent and enjoyed the circuits class offered at the gym. Overall reasonable stay but the rooms need modernising

WE WERE IN A 20 MINUTE QUEUE TO GET TO RECEPTION. RECEPTIONISTS SEEMED TO BE DOING THINGS OTHER THAN CHECKING PEOPLE IN (POSSIBLY BOOKING EXCURSIONS AND SUCHLIKE).
When eventually we were checked in, we were told that he room was not yet ready (in spite of the time being nearly 17:00 hrs. In consequence, we were kept waiting for another extended period. However, once all this was done, our room was excellent and very comfortable. The food offering at Dinner and Breckfast was very good.
