the grounds are nice and big and the pool is nice
It was not very clean, a lot of the staff were unfriendly and incompetent. the ladies bathrooms in the spa were very dirty and the locks were rusty. The food was under and overcooked at the same time - very dissapointing.
5.0 / 10.0
Spacious grounds and friendly staff.
Costs weren't clearly communicated. Room felt very worn and dated.

breakfast was good - ample choice and help yourself.
The evening menu was limited both in terms of items to choose from and in terms of the times it was open for service. We were celebrating my 70th birthday and there was a very limited range of food and we had to eat early as the restaurant stopped serving early. It was a little disappointing. We had rung and prebooked a table as late as we could as we had had a long journey to travel down from the midlands.

The location was quiet, breakfast great and staff nice.
There was no mirror in the bathroom, place looks a bit scruffy, still under refurbishment

The only thing i liked about this hotel was the location, it was quite and peaceful. O and the meal we had was nice and fresh.
The Hotel was very expensive and not worth the money. The pool and spa were closed for renovation (even though there seemed no work was being done) but still paid full price for the facilities, but being honest if they was open i still don't think it would be worth it. the room i had was a lot smaller then my friends yet i still paid the same price. Window frames were rotten and bed not that comfy. All the staff seemed to be kids and frankly clueless. we had a evening meal and most things on the menu they never had, this wouldn't be a problem normally if it was busy but there was us ( 2 people) a couple and 3 young girls who got up and walked out.

Very helpful staff. Sorted us an extra bed as no twin rooms available. Organised us taxis for a late night out
The carpets 🤣

Its location and friendliness of staff
Directions for night time access were not clear - had to call for help.
Basic bathroom facilities - no shower cap and temperature was hot in shower; couldn’t change it.

Staf were great. Food very good. Surroundings very attractive. Easy yo get to cruise docks.
Wish rooms had fridge and safe. Nothing around within walking distance.

With it's location just on the outskirts of a big city Botleighy Grange is ideally situated away from the hustle and bustle of that big city.
Botleighy Grange will once all the works are finished be a very very good place to stay.

Beautiful building and decor
They should supply drinking water in the room.

A gem of a property being bought back to life. The room size was fantastic.
9.0 / 10.0
Warm and inviting welcome from the lovely and very helpful receptionist. The hotel is bright and clean with touches of grandeur fused with features of 17th century.
Impressive superior room overlooking the lake at the rear.
Room was quiet, comfortable and clean.
Bathroom was a little tired, however clean and functional with ample supply of hot water for a bath.
Although the spa and lifts were not operational, this did not affect our stay as we were staying at the hotel as we had booked a restaurant locally.
5.0 / 10.0
Breakfast was lacking in choice
The bed was small
The terms and conditions were not friendly very authoritarian. Instead of saying we will charge £10 per hour for early check-in why not say if you arrive early you can have refreshments but you cannot expect your room to be available. TO

Room was very classy, comfortable large bed, nice bathroom too. Very clean too.
Some guests were smoking weed and stunk out the corridor but were not removed from the property, and the fire alarm went off at 6am which was probably a result of them smoking where it wasn’t allowed. Breakfast was also delayed as a result of this, and we didn’t even go as we had to catch up on the sleep we lost from the fire alarm going off.

The staff were friendly and helpful. It was raining so we did not see the grounds.
We were woken up at 6.15am by the fire alarm. Our evening meal was spoiled by having to wait so long for a main course and then the steak was full of fat and dry.

Exceptional! Didn't want to get out of the bed as it was so comfortable.
The furnishings were superb.
All in all, this hotel is highly recommended 5* service

Roomy and still cozy, in the middle of some green but close by the center of South Hampton. Friendly people and great beds, I slept like a rock.
It was an adventure, never stayed at such a large yet comfortable hotel.
No idea

Lovely hotel, the bar area had big comfy chairs and food was good. Hotel was very clean. Staff were very young and not as professional as would expect however very polite and friendly.
Breakfast was very good only criticism we had to ask for small things like sugar and tomato and brown sauce.

The hotel itself was superb and the rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable with crisp covers that it was hard to get up the following morning for the breakfast that was included in the price. There was coffee and tea in the room with biscuits which was appreciated on arrival. The staff were really friendly and made you feel welcome creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone considering staying there.
The only thing I didn't like which is not really a criticism was the shower curtain. I'm not keen on the curtains sticking to you when you are showering and feel that shower screens would be a much better option.

The room is nice and clean and the bed is comfortable
Service was slow and poor and they seemed understaffed.
The breakfast was awful.

My wife and I booked this hotel as a stopover to Southampton to start our cruise. It’s an ideal location. For travellers to cruise terminals. The hotel itself is stunning, it has obviously undergone a lot of renovation and the decor is stunning whilst in keeping its original features. The staff were fantastic , especially Nick . The breakfast ( not kidding) was perfect , Bacon was cooked to perfection
Nothing at all, be nice to see it when the spa renovation is complete and I wish it every success

Hotel under refurbishment so limited facilities but room very clean and comfortable, staff were all very helpful, all of areas of hotel open were very clean
6.0 / 10.0
The staff are amazing! Really go above and beyond to accommodate you and make you feel welcome. The hotel has an old-world, antique feel to it - which I enjoyed, and lovely gardens.
Unfortunately, my request for a ground floor room wasn't actioned until I arrived. Then the room we were given had a toilet which didn't flush, so we (my son and I) were moved again. The new room was adequate, I found some debris in our bed, but otherwise, it was warm and cosy. Some signage would be useful as navigating the ground floor can be a bit tricky.

The staff were different class. A credit to the hotel.

Although the staff were young, they were absolutely brilliant 👏 , nothing was too much trouble if asked of anything. Well done, good team.

Beautiful building, lovely staff team
Warm welcome and breakfast was hot and tasty
Nothing Great choice when the refurbishments are finished it will be stunning

Grand old place, slightly quirky, but really nice staff and a good breakfast. Great value for money and better than a bland chain hotel. Yes, it's being renovated but that had no impact on our stay. We'll be back.

wearrived and was given the key for our room whic was massive ,clean but dated but the hotel has just been taken over and will be amazing when compleated, the ad stated a spa but all this was not able to be used because was under renovation.
parking was good and when the hotel has been compleated will be aplesant break away ,we were going on a cruise aand diddnt realise we could lleave our car there for an extraa charge ,but we would have used that service had we known before hand.
The staff serving in the dining room in the morning were really helpfull and polite ,everything is still in the early stages people are learning ,everyone has to staart somwhere ,so there was no complaints thee desk staff were reall happy and greeting willing to help,i think once things are up and running i think the staff will all pull together the atmosphere was as if they were willing to work as a team and help guest
just disappointed the spar was unable to be used and the swimming pool too but im sure this will be better once the hotel haas got up aand running ,the building and surroundings aare in need of some love but once this is in place it will be amazing .
the decor as you walk in was grand and effective

If they had air conditioning.

Breakfast was absolutely wonderful.lots of choice and plentiful.
The parts of the building that we saw were lovely you could see it had been a very grand place.
The reception and reception staff were very friendly and helpful.
Evening dining on the day that we stayed was terrible due to what I thought was someone new in post getting things mixed up and looking like she didn't know what she was doing, I later found out that this was not the case and that this person was in fact someone new to a management position, unfortunately the rest of the staff were trying to not only do their own jobs but cover for her mistakes for which they apologised for profusely. This is the only reason I have not given full marks to this place otherwise our stay was excellent.

Altes Haus das zum Teil sehr aufwendig renoviert wurde
Das wird ein spitzen Platz, wenn der Rest auch erneuert wird.
Lift und Klimaanlage fehlen.
Personal sehr freundlich, braucht aber noch etwas Training

Cheap toilet paper. Better breakfast coffee should be included.

Refurbished to a high standard. (I remember it when it was a bit shabby). Nice, very helpful, informative staff. (didn't realise place has a lot of history) Very comfy bed. Spacious, airy room. Good breakfast choice.

The rooms we had (2) were large and very comfortable with armchairs, desk and table and massive double bed with feather filled pillows and duvet
There was nothing to dislike
