The overal stay was wonderful. The staff are amazing and helpful. But they are in need of some renovations. Especially for the bathrooms.
3.9
Hotel photos do not match actual premises. Food is repetitive. Most staff are friendly. Overall this hotel is very overpriced for the amenities offered. Do not stay here.
3.9
Staff were willing to listen to guests concerns and make the necessary adjustments.
3.9
Nice place if you stay here take the breakfast and Dinner package
3.9
Great property with a lot of potential, but needs some maintenance.

We stayed at the Bacolet beach club as Half moon blue was under repait. This hotel has definitely become one of our favorites in the island. It was quiet and peaceful. The staff were courteous and extremely professional. The scenery overlooking the private beach was magnificent. It was evident though that this hotel was another one that was hard-hit because of COVID and as a result the well-designed facilities showed significant signs of deterioration. I really hope that sufficient capital is invested to restore this facility to fulfil its potential to being one of the finest that Tobago has to offer.

Hotel was actually at Bacolet Beach Club, which had me a bit confused at check in, waiting in the wrong hotel.
Staff at the hotel is super friendly and helpsome. Had a great stay. Thanks

Was completely pleased with the room we was upgraded to all the receptionist was so professional and they went above and beyond to allow our stay to be comfortable to the point of late breakfast with the kind folks at the restaurant and checking out and returning back just to shower. Location is 10 minutes from Ferry but we hired a very inexpensive driver that took us around the area, thanks to all the staff.

This was a fantastic hotel. There are three pools and separate hotels, but they are all connected and apart of the same resort. The private beach is beautiful and easily accessible. The restaurant and bar is delicious. I had dinner and drinks with the owners, and they were lovely people. We had a great evening. I would highly recommend.

Clean bed, nice pool with a view. Amazing Breakfast and dinner

Location was excellent. Spacious property. Staff allowed for early check in.

Loved the view from my room and the serenity of the area. Truly a place to rejuvenate, have me time and not worry about usual day to day task.

Everything was good except on my final night i could not of sleep due to extremely loud gospel music. The music started between 8 and 9pm and continued until 2am, so sleeping was an issue for me

Facilities and location and restaurant good.

It was impossible to contact this property, Half Moon Blue. No one answered any calls. On arrival, we transferred to the sister hotel , Bacelot Beach Club which was much better, although their internet connection broke down also. The restaurant was good and the hotel and beach were in a beautiful bay. Would not recommend Half Moon Blue, needs upgrading.

I paid for a room and when i arrived at the property there was no one to check me in. The doors were unlocked . I called the contact number, walked around the property and could not locate anyone. Had to spend night elsewhere

My husband and I never saw the property. Apparently they were doing renovations and had no accommodations for us even though we had a booking through Expedia. Our flight came in really late and the staff were already on their way off the property when we arrived. 5 minutes later and we may have been stranded. They then put us up at Blue Havana across the road for the night. When we woke up the next morning there was NO WATER on the compound at Blue Havana! They gave us 2 bottles of water (yes 2 bottles) which means that all we could have done was brush our teeth. Half Moon Blue may actually be a nice place but I'll never know since I will never book with them again

The room I booked wasn't available, but I was promptly upgraded to a room at Bacelot beach club which is the sister property across the street. The room at Bacelot has a stunning view of the ocean. The room was huge. The shower was huge. The towels are huge. I loved everything about this place. Even though it's an older boutique hotel it is being maintained very well.
3.9
Property views were amazing. Ocean view of the Atlantic.
3.9
Lovely property. Close to beach. Friendly and accommodating staff

The receptionist after checking in could rarely be found. The bar/liming area were run down, mildew all on the fabric umbrellas, warn out poolside chairs. The room was quite cozy, however, left over clothing from a previous vacationer.....no privacy to the toilet area, soiled cushions on the varanda. No type of clean up tools like mops or broom to clean up spills etc. Internet was sticking, firestick issues. Had to go over the road to another hotel to have breakfast and my gorsh loads of determine flies.
3.9
I like that it was spacious but cozy....the staff were very polite and hospitable....definitely will be revisiting in the future
3.9
Short and pleasant visit nice view from my room and property is to find nice staff and food.

The hotel is quite nice. Lots of trees and green, birds singing in the morning, etc. The room was spacious and nicely featured. On the downside, I found the service not particularly charming; not a smile or a "welcome" upon arrival. You know, the kind of things one would like to know when arriving (internet password, etc.). I also found an open bottle of soap in the shower, half used, which was a pretty disgusting surprise (sorry to say). So, overall my stay was OK. Not terrible, not wonderful. Also, the location is ok only if you want to visit Tobago's capital; I had not realized that, and had to catch a cab (back and forth) from the beaches in the northern part of the island (which means roughly 30 min ride and some 15 USD per trip). Again, I think this is a nice hotel overall, although they may need to work a bit more on the quality of details and service delivery.
3.9
The original hotel was under renovation so they up graded us to the other hotel which was good but due to heavy rains we were out of water. We found the restaurant a bit too expensive and they dont show case their local cuisine.
3.9
There was no microwave available, the pool was very dirty, no night lights in the pool, the a/c did not cold the room good during the day, the wifi connection was very poor in the room, most of the television channels had no signal, the pathway to the rooms did not have enough light for the night , no place to put a hand soap in the bathroom , the hot water was not working properly , the outdoor chairs were dirty

Exceptional stay. We were upgraded to Superior penthouse which was double the size of the junior penthouse which we booked. Beautiful landscaped grounds, upper pool was adjacent but not busy since upper area has only 9 rooms. Walked down to ocean, private beach area for Bacolet Beach Club(lower rooms), which is part of Half Moon Blue(upper rooms). Breakfast was included. Good selection, bacon (or sausage) and eggs every day plus a different local entrée each day of the week.
Staff were great at the hotel and in the restaurant. All our needs were filled. A great, relaxing stay!

the balconies were not clean and the walkways were also not clean. One had to go across the street for meals. I would not select this place again.

Room was very comfortable. Staff very accommodating. Food was excellent. Beach is a hop skip and a jump. I am already planning my stay for next year.

After reading the reviews, I was very skeptical to stay here. It was my birthday and honeymoon so I really wanted the perfect place to relax, have fun and enjoy. I decided to take the chance and see what happens and I am extremely happy that I did. This place is beautiful and the cool island breeze and sea view is amazing. Believe me, based on the reviews, I tried to find something about Half Moon Blue, but honestly could not. From the wonderful receptionist Cathy, that had a fruit tray and wine in the room for us at check in, the very helpful staff at Café Havana and the complimentary island style breakfast, to the trek down to the very secluded beach…The trek to the beach could be a little tricky. A lot of stairs because of all the natural hills on the island, but once you get there, a swim with curious fishes makes it worthwhile. My husband loved it and he definitely wants to go back. Be sure to check out some of the island attractions, including Argyle waterfalls.

Generally would have been a nice hotel, but the rooms are very outdated now, displaying some wear and tear. Mosquitos enter easily, and the Wifi is virtually non functional.
3.9
Room was spacious, and had a dresser with a safe. Breakfast at adjacent Cafe Havana was plentiful and good. Dinner at Cafe Havana was expensive (US$ 16 pasta, THEN add on 10% service and 12.5% tax) and bland. Is an easy 25 min walk along the coast cliff road to get into Sacrborough, so convenient for meetings there. Pretty views. Beach is behind Bacolet Beach Club (sister hotel to this one), but note that it is a fair climb down the stairs to the beach. Also--the pink/blue building in photos is the hotel office, but not where the guest rooms are located. Overall, experience was fine but not exceptional.

We stayed in the old part of the hotel, which is a good standard and has bit of character and charm, although it's a little shabby and tired in places. We didn't use the pool at the Half Moon Blue, but used the other pools over the road at the Bacolet Beach Club, which we almost had to ourselves. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food at the Havana cafe, where you go to eat breakfast is very good - fresh fruits, cereal, cooked breakfast and pancakes on one day. They accommodated our request for a pre-packed breakfast for our early flight. The AC in our room was working, but the fan didn't work. Generally a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Hotel is built on a hillside and has rooms in two wooden colonial style blocks at a high level either side of a small infinity pool. Reception and a bar/restaurant are at a lower level and you have access to the private beach, poo,l beach bar and restaurant of the sister hotel opposite. Rooms are light and spacious and have an 'old worlde'l feel. Hotels location is quiet but you are only a short walk to the Bacolet Bay beach and the local town, Scarborough. Rooms are well kept and staff are pleasant and helpful. The shared Havana restaurant provides a fair breakfast but the evening meals are unremarkable and overpriced, however the new on site D'Rum bar/cafe offers a tasty 'no frills' menu and better service. Previous problems with the WiFi in the rooms have been resolved and I enjoyed a good and unbroken connection during my stay.

Things started really well with the booking, it was our honeymoon so we contacted Rachel before arriving to arrange champagne etc, she is dealt with this professionally. Again it was Rachel who met us on arrival, she is a credit to the establishment. The cleaners were great too! However the breakfast staff were really quite miserable, it doesn't matter if you go early or late to breakfast, nothing gets refilled unless you ask - it is hit and miss whether they offer you toast and juice and it isn't because they are busy. Many people choose not to go there because the quality and lack of choice at breakfast is an issue. Whilst talking about bar staff, most do the bear minimum - there was one lovely lady, the others just don't engage. Probably because the owner Gloria a model is the same, she took breakfast in the restaurant and had fans bought over just for her, doesn't smile at her guests or engage - quite sad really.
Unfortunately not wanting to eat there so much meant extending the car hire for the full two weeks as you are quite far away from anything. Although if you do stay Salsa Kitchen is excellent and is a ten minute taxi ride.

Booked at half Moon Blue because the receptionist insisted they could not check me to Bacolet Beach Club due there being no room with a working lock although availability showed online. I don't think this was the case, I ended up being given a room at Bacolet Beach Club very late in the night on Monday 29 February after quite a long wait and run around. Half moon Blue is okay - nice view but the rooms are a bit old inside. They are not exactly modern chic but a bit dated.
3.9
The hotel is very close to the beach and right next to one of the pools. (Guests can also use the two pools of the hotel across the street.) The three rooms in the top floor and the pool have a spectacular ocean view. The staff is friendly. The hotel could use a little renovation.

Great, wonderful and relaxing.

We arrived in the afternoon on Sunday and at check-in they couldn't find our reservation. After searching for my confirmation email using my international data plan, i was told to email the confirmation to them. Then they realized they have transferred us to the new resort across the street (without our consent - suppose to be an upgrade). But our reservation was for the Superior Penthouse (it can host 4 people, but due to an error on my part, I only put 1 person, there was 3 of us traveling - i couldn't undo on Hotel.com and my phone doesn't allow international calls, so i left the reservation as is, thinking everything will be fine since I am paying more for the penthouse, and it comes with two double beds). They gave the penthouse away and changed us to a room with a king bed and asked to charge us $30 for an additional bed... After explaining how unacceptable this is, the receptionist decided to waive the additional fee. They got us a cot for the 3rd person, but with it is a passive aggressive note from the receptionist saying, since we only put 1 person down on the reservation, the other two will not get the complimentary breakfast. That was an immature and petty move. Especially since we booked the most expensive room available that accommodates 4 people... The place is run down, and no wifi in the room. Extremely disappointed since we paid similar amount of money to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Trinidad and we loved the stay.
