It’s a great hotel, if you just want somewhere that you can rest up. There is a really much in the area, but it looks like it’s up-and-coming. One plus is that the greyhound bus station is about three blocks away.

Nice hotel in a good location for bars and restaurants. Not far to walk in to downtown Detroit.
3.9
Nice place, only queen size beds so that was a disappointment. Bed was comfortable though, room was a bit small but everything else was perfectly fine.
3.9
The outside area was nice but the room was a complete disappointment. The floors looked horrible, they're literally concrete and you can see where the carpet glue was. The worse part was on night 2, we found a bed bug! And even after being told we would be reimbursed, we weren't. I didn't sleep that night and had a 7 hour drive home. This was supposed to be a nice 2nd anniversary trip for us

Nicely renovated hotel in a great area!

Highly recommend this hotel. Industrial setting with convenient restaurant and bar. Good location. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back.

Hotel does not look like much from the outside, but was clean and quiet inside. Free onsite parking was a plus. Our room was tiny but the bed was pretty comfortable.
3.9
Overpriced.

The hotel was great. The bed was firm and comfortable. The Cafe served a super red-eye, (espresso & regular coffee) in the morning. I was able to walk to dinner to a place called Alpino, where I had a delicious meal. I would definitely stay there again.
3.9
Great check in. Front staff was nice and personable. Hotel very clean given a chic modern look.

The hotel was nicely renovated and the bedding was very elegant. The location of the hotel was close to everything. I would stay here again.

Don’t stay here unless you want the bare minimum. Overall the hotel looks nice from the outside. It’s in a sketchy neighborhood where your car needs to be parked in a gated lot. The room has no carpet other than an area rug and a stained, cracked concrete floor. There are minimal plugs and places that make it easy to get ready. We stayed for 3 nights. On the 2nd day we asked for new towels we never got any. We called the front desk and were told that there was only 1 person on staff and we had to get them ourselves. No one from housekeeping ever checked to see if we needed anything or took out our trash. We decided that we would stay another night and asked to stay here out of convenience and was told by a dismissive manager a sky high rate although most of the hotel was empty. When we told her about the towels she pointed at the Eco friendly sign and said you have to ask. We told her we did ask and she said “if you don’t like it, don’t stay”.

Really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was the dog barking in the room across from us! Staff were really nice and welcoming gave suggestions on places to try in the area.

The Trumbull and Porter is an adorable and hip updated little inn that gets you into a great area of Detroit. We had great service at check in, a nice clean room, the hotel was clean and we were close to the Windsor Tunnel. Great stay. Check it out!

Staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early. Parking was easy and was only $10 (though the fee was not disclosed before book.) The hall/room felt kind of like a run-down hotel with a fresh coat of paint and Ikea furniture. It was clean! We loved nearby Batch brewery (basically across the street.)

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was. Very hip and cool. Easy parking, friendly staff, spacious rooms, restaurant on site and a few a short walk away. Austin at the front desk was wonderful and always friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again

Great property

This is a delightful boutique hotel near enough to downtown to feel like you are part of Detroit's core but far enough away to feel at peace in a relaxing and trendy neighborhood. There are interesting things to do within the hotel, and the fact that there is free parking this close to the city's center is astounding.

Everything about my stay was incredible from the staff being absolutely delightful to the room being a unique stylish and clean. Will definitely return

The tv did not work and was told by the front desk that they would follow up, that never did. Also, the shower was weird. There was a cut out to be able to turn the water on but the only way to start the shower was to get in the tub and risk getting your hair wet or the water temp being off. Other than these issues, the room was clean and the check in staff were friendly and helpful.

I loved the patio.
3.9
It was really safe place, and the staff were nice. The room was clean.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were happy to discover the hotel had bikes for guests to borrow. We road all around and enjoyed sight seeing in Detroit. The atmosphere was so cute. Great job renovating an old hotel.

The over all stay was good. Room was clean, and spacious. The couch was not all that comfortable, and the chairs in the room were ok. I had to upgrade to the Kingsize room to get the extra seating. The queen bed rooms only have A chair that is not very comfortable. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. I had asked for an extra towel and it was brought to my room without hesitation. I also like the convenience of getting in and out of the hotel and that there was different dining options that we're close by.
Be prepared if you are a morning coffee drinker, and bring your own. The rooms DoNot have a coffee maker in them. Uggg and they do not offer complimentary coffee either. But luckily there are several nice coffee shops near by if you dont want what the have to offer after it opens at 7 am. The Black Garlic restaurant in the hotel is ok. I felt it was over priced for what you get. (You pay for everything separately... Main entree, then you veggies, they dont even offer rolls or anything).
3.9
We loved this hotel! It was less than a mile from central downtown and the staff there was amazing. The warm welcome from the manager Jeremy and the sweet girl in the coffee shop set the tone and the rooms, while not being fancy, were clean and set nice and cool. Not a bad price for a downtown hotel too. We will be back for Lions games.

Trendy decor without being ostentatious. The staff went above and beyond to assist. Super helpful, friendly, and gave great recs for surrounding area. A few blocks from restaurants, museums, etc. but quiet and walkable.

Water pressure in bathroom not great

The second morning of my stay I advised the front desk of a constant flickering bathroom light. This wasn't fixed and room wasn't cleaned. There weren't any sanitizing products in gym. On check out I reminded the hotel of the light and the desk said thanks they're aware. No apologies just have a nice day. The room floors are concrete, zero rugs. Towels harsh. Not worth it overall.

Everything was ok would stay again

The room looked run down and there was mold on the ceiling. Not thrilled about this recent stay which is unfortunate because I booked here based on previous stays at this hotel.

Great place to stay!
3.9
It was an average hotel. The young man that checked us in was very nice and helpful. The woman that worked early in the morning (may have been the night shift) was very rude and had a bad attitude. We will not stay here again for sure.
3.9
The fee of 150.00 for damages or neglect of the property that we had to pay when we checked in. I wish i would have knew about this before hand but everything else was Great. The quiet excellent else was Great. The location yes and yes. Clean wow. I hope this place stays and keeps this vibe.

Peace&quiet

The hotel is clean and quiet. It has a courtyard where you can sit by the fire and have a couple drinks. Also walking distance to bars and pubs.
3.9
Staff was phenomenal as always! I have stayed a few times over the past year and this visit staff went above ans beyond. The new restaurant Black Ginger was very good.

Noise.

Quaint, quiet and a great comfortable stay!

This is our third stay at Trumbull and Porter. We love the location to visit our daughter in Hamtramck. It’s close to most everything you may want to see in Detroit. The industrial chic vibe is minimalist but comfortable. Staff always excellent. Cleanliness good. Outdoor green space with fire pit is a nice break from the concrete of the city.
