This place was so luxurious. It was off the beaten path but such a wonderful surprise. You can walk around the property and feel like you’re in another time. Will be coming back.

A stay of 3 nights in a very comfortable room. The staff were so friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Food was good. We dined in the bar as the hotel was quite quiet. Service great.
Unfortunately the golf course was closed so my husband couldn’t play but he was impressed.

Truly surprised by the Castle Dargan Hotel (stay date 17th October 2023). I am a seasoned traveler and usually stay in high end hotels. I went to Castle Dargan midweek and didn't expect very much due to the low price. How wrong I was! The hotel was exceptional. The staff were as friendly as could be. The room was more spacious than most and recently decorated (kudos to the painters - very good job). The hotel was spotless. I hoped to hit a few balls on the driving range but the weather conspired against me. With that said, the golf course looked very appealing. The Spa also looked top notch. My partner very much enjoyed a couple of hours in the Spa. I am Coeliac and there was no problem with getting a Gluten Free breakfast (made to order and had GF sausages). Overall I really enjoyed my stay and I am already planning a return visit.

Set in a rural location Castle Dargan hotel is easy to find and definitely worth a visit. Really friendly staff, spotlessly clean & spacious room. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection. Golf course really well kept. Enjoyable walk to the castle ruins. Would certainly ho back if in the area.

From the moment we were greeted by Caroline the hotel receptionist who welcomed us with her warm smile and sunny disposition, We instantly felt at home.
That warm welcoming spirit carried on into the hotel restaurant with our maitre d and server whom proceeded to give us a very tasty and satisfying dining experience.
While our visit may have been unfortunately brief, it was most definitely memorable,
In Hawaii we call what Castle Dargan has, as the "Aloha Spirit", the spirit of love. Thank you for making us feel at home.

Stayed at Castle Dargan for an overnight as I had business in Sligo, perfect if coming from Dublin as it is before you reach Sligo, a short distance and less than 15 minutes away. Check in really straight forward and very friendly staff throughout. The room was perfect with a nice golf course view, Would highly recommend

We ended up staying out in an apartment block, rather than rooms in the hotel building (not ideal for 86 year old Mum, good if you were there to play golf). Beds were comfy, free parking, nice breakfast looking out onto golf course.

Easy check in, room good, clean and spacious.
Staff friendly
Breakfast ok
Limited choice for vegetarians for evening meal.
Received call before stay to see if we were playing golf or wanted to use the Spa.

After a 5-day beautiful but hectic bus tour from Dublin to Limerick it was just what the doctor ordered for a relaxing 2-day stay where we could visit with cousins near by.
Also enjoyed delicious yet reasonable food and had a wonderful dinner party with cousins.
Thank you for making out visit special Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the wall pictures related to W.B. Yeates.

We visited from England to visit family but thought we’d make a long weekend of it. There aren’t any 5 star hotels in Sligo, so we went for the next best thing. We chose Castle Dargan because of its history, the grounds & it’s golf course. Sadly we didn’t get to play golf because of Storm Eunice, but we did make good use of the bar & restaurant. The hospitality is brilliant - the staff are so lovely & everyone made us feel so welcome. Sligo town centre is about 10 minutes away & costs around €20. The room & amenities are somewhat dated - the bathroom could have done with some updating (tiles cracked, plug broken), but then again it is only a 4* hotel. Overall a really nice stay - nothing is too much for the staff here 😊

Beautiful surroundings. Large room and very quiet . Hotel staff very friendly and pleasent.A great view from breakfast across the golf course but as it was such a sunny day( which we shouldn't complain about ) the resturant was extremely warm .

The staff in the hotel were lovely, very obliging.
Our room was basic and overlooked the courtyard which was noisy at night, between cars coming in and out and smokers outside the front door. We left the windows open to let air in but had to shut them to block out the noise. No aircon in the room. We complained about the noise the following morning at reception but received no feedback.
Breakfast was very good, as was dinner.
In my opinion the hotel wasn’t good value for money compared to other hotels in county Sligo.

The old Castle image does not reflect what a modern and comfortable place to stay. Our room was very spacious and had a comfortable bed and large bathroom. This is a resort with a golf course and walking trails.

Dinner was a very low standard and overpriced, I returned my main course as it was served on a cold plate and was not hot. Breakfast was a good with a good choice on the menu, I would not recommend this hotel.
