No lift, carpets warn, no parking but expensive on street parking, breakfast ok, beds squeaky, room small, service good and convenient, good location.

I'm not expecting 'posh' but for the price we paid, in Clifton, I expect a better quality room.
The carpet was minging, there weren't any headboards and the the decor was basically dull and uninspiring. Although the room was clean, it could do with a lick of paint and a few extras to make the room feel more welcoming. Somewhere to hang wet coats? A bedside lamp? Some nice photos of Bristol or local art?
The receptionist was really friendly and helpful.
The beds were comfortable.
3.6
Good location and reasonably priced rooms. Only down side was that we opted for early check in but when we arrived at 1pm we found out the reception was not manned until 3pm, which messed up our plans a bit.
3.6
Verry disappointed with this hotel. Quite expensive £80 a night
Not clean. Carpets disgusting. Room not clean. Bathroom unpleasant. No sink plug (not asking for much)
Location ok for Bristol
Parking a nightmare!!
You have been warned!!

Hotel is in desperate need of a revamp - carpet was terribly soiled.

Checked in and given 2 rooms with people in them then later told it was full and had to sleep in my car

This hotel is NOT a hotel. It is an old student residence that has been priced as a hotel. There was only one person working in the whole place. So it took ages to get checked in. The room as like a student room. There was an electric socket hanging off the wall which was a clear fire risk. I’m surprised we didn’t die in a fire. And the breakfast was terrible - no bowls or cutlery, just some bananas, plastic croissants and Nescafé coffee. I warn all potential visitors to steer clear of this place. I have a photo of the dodgy electric socket and the terrible breakfast but I can’t seem to upload it. I bet that’s because Hotels.com know how terrible the hotels on their site! I will be avoiding Hotels.com also in the future. Terrible!

DON’T STAY HERE. Waited an hour to check in, room dirty and came back in the evening to find our room open.
3.6
No one available when we arrived. We came back to be told rooms hadn’t been cleaned so couldn’t get rooms till after 4pm. We had plans so this was very inconvenient. On returning at 11pm we were given a room that had guests already in. The next room was up four flights of stairs and didn’t seem to be the deluxe room booked, but rather all that was left.
3.6
The worst hotel we’ve stayed in at this price point in the UK - should be immediately delisted hotels.com as brand damaging
3.6
Poor check in experience and the noise from inside the hotel with creaking floor meant a bad nights sleep. It was clean though.
3.6
The room was STUNNING and the bed was the comfiest thing ever. Staff were all lovely and the breakfast was delicious.
3.6
good location, nice hotel, single room done the job for a one night stay

The room needs updating. Plug broken and walls and carpets grubby. More old rather than unclean. Twin room, one of the mattresses springs had gone. Tolietries is a small bar of soap and some lotion thing. You need to bring your own. One towel each which was fine. Staff really friendly. About 15/20 min walk from town - downhill on the way but fairly hilly on way back so bear in mind if you have issues. There are buses however. Parking on street, you can only pay for 3 hours and then have to move to a different road which was frustrating. £5.10 for 3 hours. Free from 9pm to 91m. If you are leaving car for entire day, there is West car park quite near which is £18 for over 4 hours. Breakfast, fruit, cereal, selection of milk, oak etc. Gluten free breakfast biscuits. Alpro yoghurts so dairy free. Tea and coffee is the little sachets which you also have in your room with kettle. Hairdryer but no iron. Plug in fans which were a godsend in this heat. Overall, it was ok. Wouldn't come back though.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in the U.K. and I’ve stayed on some old and poor ones. It’s truly a disgrace to charge the prices you do for it!

We booked two rooms, the checkin staff was friendly but couldn't do anything we reported that the remote for the TV in one room didn't work. The beds and bathrooms were spotlessly clean but let's just say cream coloured carpets aren't a good idea as stains from various previous occupants are easily visible.
We booked the rooms partly because breakfast was included and were surprised that it's limited to basic cereal and fruits. There were plenty of apples, bananas and oranges though.
The real issue was that both our room keys didn't work in the morning and there was no receptionist until 2pm! We called the helpdesk and it took them ages to even identify us as they didn't find the reservation number, booking number etc and in the end told us just to wait for receptionist who arrived for his shift at 2pm so can't blame him for this mess. Imagine if we wanted to check out in the morning? We raised a complaint with the call centre and they didn't even call back to check we got into the rooms.

We were welcomed by a friendly polite member of staff. But the room, despite paying for deluxe was not good, very tired looking, stained carpet and the window sash was broken so couldn’t have window open, the shower continuously dripped quite heavily and made the floor wet as shower cubicle doors didn’t shut properly. Very expensive and not worth it, would not stay here again.

A low level room was requested due to autistic child with cerebral palsy and an adult with mobility issues, was given an attic room to which my daughter had to climb the stairs on her hands and knees. Windows in the room had no safety chain to prevent them being opened fully, bathroom window had no handle at all. Every time water is run or toilet flushed there were loud bumping sounds. Not a good hotel to stay in.
3.6
No parking
3.6
Negligent check in - ie no one there until well after stated check inntime. Room not properly prepared - water in the washbasin. Total darkness in the bathroom due to broken light bulb. Hot water ran out in middle of shower. Breakfast was all sugary wrapped bars and boxed cereals - no hot water for coffee and no staff on duty. In all a bizarrely hopeless establishment, experience certainly not to be repeated. Oh, and don't believe that there is parking unless you happen to mention before anyone else that you will need it, which with online booking one can't do.

One night stay overall good and breakfast was lighwait only problem was car parking outside. And my room was top floor room number 539 and very warm we havr to open window so that its noise come grom streets and pub. Otherwise very nice.
3.6
The hotel promised to send my invoice once I had checked out, it has not arrived.
The sound proofing in the hotel was shockingly bad!
3.6
Room smelt damp, no net curtains on French windows to patio, house opposite could look directly into my room unless curtains were kept closed. Dirty carpet and extractor fan, paper thin walls, could hear the person in the next room clearing their throat
3.6
The cost was reasonable and convenience to Bristol centre.
3.6
Dirty towels, cups and sheets. No shampoo or shower gel supplied even though room was £220 for a twin
3.6
Nice staff, good location. Room fine though quite noisy
3.6
Nice staff reasonable price but a prefect example of you get what you pay for. I paid £57 for a room. The description mentions parking - they only have three spaces so practically no parking. Street parking is not an option unless you pay until 9pm, and the nearest car park is 10 minutes walk away. The place feels unclean. The reception surface was sticky, the carpets are filthy. The desk in the room was sticky, the carpet in the room was really dirty. There was hairs in the shower. On the positiove side the bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, the curtains were thick and kept the light out. Lots of noise from the street below.

Everything is excellent specially the breakfast

Overall this property suited us for where we were going in the area. Parking would be an issue as only a few spaces available on first come first serve basis but this close to the city parking is a problem everywhere I guess. We were in a twin room on the top floor which was difficult for me as I have a heart condition. But I should have specified this when I booked. The kind lady on the desk offered to change my room for which I was grateful but had took my bags up by then and had settled. So would recommend asking for a lower floor when you book if this would be an issue for you. The room was clean and modern. The breakfast room was a great addition and we helped ourselves to some before we checked out. I would stay again
3.6
Amazing TV selection, conveniently places. Got charged ‘city tax’ on arrival
3.6
Very noisy with poor sound insulation. Noisy upstairs resident was up at 4.00am and I was awake until they left. I heard every singel step in the room and stairs, Very poor breakfast facilities. Carpet in my room damaged. Otherwise reasonably clean. I would not recommend it.
3.6
No room available when arrived

In need of an upgrade.
Carpets were stained.
Windows were rattling.

Very Kind employees, Breadfast was quite good

Thank you very much Regent Hotel for your friendly welcome to Bristol. This is a great budget option for a visit to the city. The room was lovely and clean, perhaps a little musty, but it soon cleared on airing. Very comfy bed, great bathroom.
To advise other visitors, the on-site parking is extremely limited, and we had to park on the street. As we were only staying one night and arrived at 6pm, we only had to pay for three hours so that was okay. Also, I would advise if you have any mobility issues, this may not be the best option as we had a lot of stairs, though there are some ground floor rooms, so speak to the hotel.
Breakfast is continental style, but we were impressed by the choice available. It was smashing to start the day with porridge, fruit, yoghurt, juice and a spot of earl grey.
I travel a lot, but I'm very fussy, so believe me when I say I recommend this as a great budget option, I mean it.
One more thing, we went into the student area for food, but had we noticed that Racks opposite does some great food options and isn't too pricey, we would have eaten there.
3.6
Good sized room/bathroom. Quiet. Awful pillows that were really uncomfortable.
3.6
An extremely disappointing stay
1. marred by incessantly noisy stairwells, making it impossible to rest during late-night hours.
2. The absence of a room key was concerning, and the hotel's inability to provide access cards forced me to rely solely on staff assistance for entry.
3. The double bed in my room was remarkably undersized for a hotel of this caliber.
4. The advertised presence of a bathtub turned out to be a false claim, leaving me with a feeling of deception.
5.Additionally, the breakfast offered was far from satisfactory, consisting mainly of cold options like bars and instant porridge, which fell short of the expected hot breakfast experience.
3.6
It was a great stay..they even had free breakfast which was a bonus..the only thing I would say is the carpets need a good clean/be replaced
3.6
Excellent stay. Will definitely book again.
3.6
Very friendly receptionist. Nice unexpected continental breakfast.
Good location too
