Great place for the night. Food was good. Nice hot tub.

Staff was very helpful, beds were very comfortable.
The free breakfast was excellent and choices were plentiful

It was a nice hotel, well kept, clean. The breakfast had several options and it was worth having it included in the reservation. There were limited parking spots and we got lucky finding a spot each night. There's a supermarket nearby. Not many restaurants around. I suggest renting a cae if tou want to get around. The rooms are small, but typical for Europe. Small shower. The sauna was great! Overall, a good hotel to stay. We were there for two nights.

The hotel is quiet and rooms were clean.

We spent one night in a corner apartment with family. Unfortunately, the road construction right in front of us made it impossible to relax and enjoy our morning (so no hot tub relaxation for us 😟)The breakfast was a caos, most tables were full of dirty dishes, the coffee machines were not working, but you could see the staff were doing the best they could. They definitely should have more people working the buffet breakfast. The apartment has a kitchen, but there was no soap. The positive, everything was clean, beds comfortable (note: we noticed that in most places twin beds in Iceland are very norrow) and the location is convenient to easily jump on the road.

The property was clean and conveniently located. The staff were friendly and helpful.

If you stay at Stracta make sure to book the room with the private hot tubs. This made a huge difference after a couple long days of hiking! The room was very large with an in unit kitchenette. Everything was in great condition and clean. The breakfast buffet had a great spread with a waffle maker as well. Bar is open until late. The restaurant was not bad but after a long day of traveling it’s nice to have a place to eat. Overall, would definitely stay here again!

Nice hotel in Hella (close to the caves).
Everything was clean, checkin was quick and we were able to get a good dinner at their restaurant.

Breakfast is amazing! Suite was clean but very tiny for family of 4.

Would stay there again. Restaurant is one of the best around. Room was great given the remote area.

The rooms are build in tin metal boxes like shipping containers. Extremely cheap materials. Very small and hot. Bathrooms are extremely small and the shower design is the worst ive even seen. The shower is part of the bathroom is no lip or divider to contain the water. There are 2 doors to the shower but they dont close all the way so there is a gap and water goes everywhere. Basically the entire bathroom is oke big shower. The hot tubs were sad. Luke warm and no bubbles. My room has no bathrobes so we had to wall through the hotel in a towel. The hotel was fully booked by chinese tour groups.

Beyond our expectation.Highly recommend.

Spacious and clean. Parking right outside the cabin. Cozy beds. Complimentary drinks. Good breakfast. Best part was our private hot tub. We traveled with kids and everyone felt comfortable. Will definitely return.

A lovely property with good communal areas. The delux room was amazing and very comfortable. Reception staff were excellent although the bistro staff were slow at dinner and they failed twice to bring our drinks. Breakfast was nice with plenty of options that were regularly refilled, although the floor was covered in cereal and crumbs. Despite these negatives the whole experience was very good.

The rooms are basic and tiny. We had lots of noise of something banging on the structre all night. Breakfast was wonderful though

It is a great location (Hella) and the hotel main building is attractive and good. The reason I have 4 star is that the size of the rooms are very small. Even through I booked a family studio. It is very narrow inside like a room built on a container. Could have been larger rooms considering the price and location. Good restaurant.

Fantastic property in the middle of Hella. Easy access to Caves of Hella. Easy check-in and clean practical room.

Love our stay. Perfect location for those who are taking a bus to do the Laugavegur trail or hikes in the area. The bus station is crossing the street. The breakfast was great (I take breakfast seriously 😊). Confortable room and great amenities.

This was our first breakfast outside the Americas...this was a fantastic including breakfast.

Breakfast was pretty bad and did not like the quality of breakfast items

It is conveniently located and has best continental breakfast that set us for best start every day we were there. The sauna and hot tubs were great way to relax at the end of the long days.

It is a typical tourist hotel with many rooms. My room was smaller than expected and there was no table to enjoy a cup of tea. Eating could be very difficult in the room.
I had some trouble having breakfast as so many people turned up at the same time and there were no plates left.
Tour buses blocked the exit and entrance so we had to wait for a long time to thing were sorted out by staff. Parking control looks necessary for this place.

Loved our stay here especially the sauna and hot tub. The breakfast was amazing. The only negative was our room was very small for four people.

We had a two-bedroom apartment which worked out well for our family (two parents and two teens). We were tired after an overnight flight and day of sightseeing so we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and having dinner on-site so we could get to bed relatively early. Room darkening shades worked well. Easy to park and we were able to get to our first stop that day within a half hour. Very well located for touring from the Golden Circle to Vik area.

Good hotel in a good location, south coast and surrounding areas very accessible from this hotel, good base. Hotel is a little dated, crack in table at the restaurant, old stains in some carpet, nothing serious but little annoying.
10.0
Compact has amenities I didn’t find like microwave, refrigerator mini sink.

We had a beautiful room which was a suite with private hot tub. My review reflects the overall condition of property which is tired. For example, stairs leading to upstairs dining room had loose and broken tiles… hazardous. The towels and robes in room are all frayed and really need replacing. The beautiful greenhouse really needed love. Lots of little minor repairs needed. Otherwise, nice hotel, inexperienced waitstaff and front desk help trying hardest.

This hotel was perfect for our stay! Clean rooms, fabulous breakfast, the rooms are decorated in a very Icelandic fashion nothing super fancy but comfortable-everything you need and very clean!
the hot tub and sauna were great and having a bar and restaurant on site was very handy.
Only thing I could say is that we used the coffee cups in the room and glasses, and they weren't replaced the second night so if they could be sure to check on that when cleaning up the room that would be great. Overall would highly recommend!

Rooms cramped.

The good- simple, easy check in small rooms but clean.
Had a hot tub (luke warm) and saunas. Great choices for breakfast.
The Bad: Very warm in the rooms, almost miserable, had window cracked open and woke up to bites all over! Beware of the midges! Praying it is not bed bug bites, as there were black flecks all over the bed when we woke. There were no signs posted to not open the windows and all of the other rooms around had theirs open too.

We think the hotel is underrated. The staff are very nice (especially the staff in the bar who showed us the drinks), breakfast buffet is the best we have in Iceland , the room is clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the stay so much!

Great hotel! Nice sauna and hot tub, well-designed facility, great breakfast. Convenient location for exploring south Iceland and its natural wonders.
6.0
Staff poor customer service. Stayed in room 20 a 2 bedroom “apt”, you can drive on the side road to park in front of “apt”. They have a great gym!! If it wasn’t for staff, I would give this place 5 stars.
