We stay there for a short one day trip before we were going to our cruise . The room was very ice. We had a few issues and due to the lack of communication with the person providing the service we did not get our tv in the room working at all , but he changed the light bulb and it took many phones calls and myself going to the reception twice to get trash cans for the room and bathroom. The people in the front office was very nice , just wish they got someone to translate the man who was trying to fix things in our room

Not a bad place, but the road noise was terrible; glad I had my ear buds. The mattress was thin and the bar was not open. It also took 20 min. for valet to bring our vehicle to us.
Staff were nice and it’s walkable to a lot of things to do.
I’ve stayed in NOLA 4 times and I would stay at the other hotels again, probably not this one though.

The staff is not provided parking!😠 They had to park in the valet spots which, obviously makes it hard for guests to get in!

Beautiful hotel will plan to stay here again.

Our first room was flooded from the AC unit. They gave us another room, however, that one had some plumbing issues. They were manageable so we did not reach out to the front desk. They do not clean during your stay so it’s on you to get new towels from the front desk and manage your trash. I was surprised that they do not come up to the room for any support for these. The breakfast was sad. We ate there once and never again during our stay. The staff was nice but not very helpful. The amenities did not match the cost of this hotel so I wouldn’t stay again.

Lobby was decorated for the Taylor Swift concert with selfie stations and discounted merchandise. Drink menu at bar was awesome with kid options.

The staff was wonderful! So friendly! Check in was so easy and when we got valet it was quick considering how busy the weekend was! The rooms were comfy and we had everything we needed. We ate after the concert in the hotel and the food was wonderful too!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and while the experience was overall pleasant, there were some cleanliness issues that stood out. First, let me say that the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the stay more enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely decor and a warm atmosphere.
However, I did notice that cleanliness didn't seem to be a priority. There was quite a bit of dust in the bathroom, and it was obvious that the floors hadn’t been thoroughly vacuumed or mopped. It felt like the focus was only on changing the sheets, while other areas were overlooked.
With more attention to cleaning, this hotel could easily provide an exceptional experience. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, but the lack of regular cleaning kept the stay from being as enjoyable as it could have been.

I like the fact the hotel is just a stone's from the new orleans convention center.

We had no working toilet no hot water and sink would leak drain all over the floor when you used it. Staff didnt care once informed them of this . Told me i needed to use bathroom in the lobby if i needed too go to the restroom ! finally they offered only a 10pct refund for a room with no working bathroom and would not let me check out for a refund since it was a non refundable room.

Great for the price point but the hotel needs a self-park option that they can recommend. If you didn’t use valet they seemed to say, well you’re on your own just look on your own. Room was good. Bed firm. Property showing some age overall and needs refreshing. Almost all staff I interacted with were welcoming. Not a bad location overall.

It was nice. Record player in our room did not work! It would have been nice if the bar opened before 6pm. Had an awesome breakfast! Close to everything we wanted to go to!

The staff was very accommodating allowing me to check in early after all of the chaos around Hurricane Francine with me flying on from out of state. Very appreciative!! 😊

This is my 2nd time at The Mercantile Hotel & I enjoyed. There was a room mix up but it was resolve right away. I stayed in the executive King suite, which was spaceous & had a nice cityview. Bourbon St is about a 20min walk & the location is walking distance to the art district as well. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. There is continental breakfast provided in the mornings from 7-10. I suggest adding more fruit options like bananas for those who don't eat meat. There are a few take aways. The toilet seat & handle needs maintenence. They were loose. The microwave was outdated & you had to turn the nozzle to heat your food. Lastly, there were no Mercantile robes in the executive king suite. I assumed since there was one in the regular king suite I stayed in last year, there would be one in the executive. There were other guests walking around in their robes. It's not a deal breaker, just an observation. All in all, I enjoyed & will be back.

Enjoyed our stay at the Mercantile. Rooms were spacious and clean. The record player with the jazz albums were a nice touch. The location was just close enough to walk to the French Quarter, but not too close so it was quiet enough around the hotel. Lots of dining options in the area. Would definitely stay again next time we visit the city.

Everyone is great except for one girl, a black girl that worked in the evening time. She is very rude.

The staff were great. This hotel is within walking distance of the Riverside Mall. Some restaurants are also walkable. The parking is valet for about $45. This will be on par with other parking lots - even for a night.

A cute boutique hotel. A lot of character and everyone was very professional. I felt taken care of.

I was blown away by this hotel. The staff was friendly when I arrived, the elevator was fast, and my room was right next to it. The hotel is very quiet, as is the area around it mostly. There was street parking every evening when I got in, cutting the cost of parking to around $10 per day instead of $30-40 at the garages. There were great dining choices nearby if you didn't want to venture to the more crowded areas of the Quarter or business district. Lots of great coffee shops and you're on the same street (Girod) as a Rouse's grocery store about 6 blocks away. I'll definitely be back.

First of all, I want to start this review off stating that the workers particularly Rochelle were first class all the way. They made my stay so much easier and they were extremely helpful. I cannot emphasize that enough. They were so helpful. I really like the vibe of the hotel. It had a kind of old world rustic modernization included. I really like the hotel. It is in great walking distance from a lot of the attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel and I will stay there again.

The desk people, the housekeepers, the bartender - everybody that worked there were simply the best! Could not do enough to help me have a great experience.
