This hotel was amazing. The small cabins were so comfy and clean. Highly recommend. The food at the restaurant was fantastic and well worth the price as well.

Is a good option, maybe a bit far from everything, but was convenient.

We loved staying at Hotel Laekur. We loved having breakfast included, especially the overnight oats-yum! The room was spacious and clean and the heated bathroom floors were a bonus.

The 2 bedroom cottage was perfect for my family of 3. The cottage was clean and spacious with a beautiful view of the stream and countryside. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the hotel.

We stayed in a chalet with the river view. It was quite nice. It offered good comfort and more privacy.

March 2024 - Very nice place to lodge away from it all. Pleasant warm rooms and amenities including hot tub and sauna. Be prepared for the wind. Breakfast was great. We appreciated the wake up call for the auroras, but unfortunately it was too cloudy to see very much of it. We enjoyed our two night stay very well.

Very cozy and a beautiful location. Staff very polite and restaurant amazing.

An outstanding hotel.. so peaceful and we saw the northern lights

Very beautiful property. Really loved the three twin bed option. Please make sure you take advantage of their breakfast! Very good quality. Highly recommend and although no aurora our night, they have someone in watch until midnight and will call you to let you know. A few minor complaints which is that the shower curtain was disgusting at the bottom and had all sorts of rust colored staining, Bedspread green topper had a stain, and the water felt slimy due to a little too much water softener. Otherwise, absolutely gorgeous and highly recommend.

Wonderful place. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Great hot tub and sauna. The restaurant was nice. Great places to walk all around the property we got to meet some of the horses and sheep on the neighboring farm!

We liked this hotel. Rented a cottage close to the river. The location is beautiful. The cottage was clean, private and practical. The breakfast was very good.

Hotel staff were courteous and friendly.
Room cleanliness was poor, broken toilet seat

We loved everything about this cottage. We saw the Northern Lights from the back porch and it was the highlight of our trip. We wish we could have stayed here longer. It was fabulous.

Curtains didn’t fit the windows allowing the light to come through. Otherwise an excellent place to stay.

Beautiful little cottage for our family of five. Only a small fridge and no kitchen, but on-site restaurant and bar looked good (we didn’t eat there). Lovely location, although a little off the main road. Decent hot tub and sauna. Overall recommend their little cottages, good value.

This was our favorite accommodation. We chose the cottage and were so happy we did. After staying in small hotel rooms, this gave us a chance to stretch out and relax. The farm is beautiful and was surrounded by majestic mountains. We took a walk around the property and were greeted by a friendly little border collie who showed us the way. The cottage itself was new, very clean and bedding was comfortable. The variety of shows on the Smart TV suited us perfectly. I would highly recommend staying a couple of night at Hotel Laekur.

The farm house feel and the family run business was wonderful
1.5
The bed mattress was rock hard we ended up sleeping on top of the comforters. Food and beverage was very over priced even for Iceland but the soup was delicous. Highly recommend avoiding the breakfast, not worth the 2,423kr ($19USD).

Everything about this family run business was exceptional! Very helpful and extremely pleasant.

a charming place so peacefull !
We were lodging into the cottage as a whole family into our home
Restaurant is delicious and you must try the Skyr homemade dessert (i let you discover this icelandic specialty)
Take some rest into the bath and sauna looking at the landscape - and you ll forget about the over communicating world
2.5
Great hotel with explicit service. It is family run and service, facilities and food was great. Only downside is the rather remote location with only connection road as a dirt road.
Picture perfect location 👌

The staff was very warm, welcome, and inviting, but the room we were in left something to be desired. The door was extremely finicky and several times we were unable to lock it at all, and perhaps the staff couldn't either, because we came back from day trips to find our room had not been locked two times. Our TV had a blown speaker, the faucet was loose, and the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable.

A lovely hotel in middle of nowhere which we were looking for. Very warm welcome from the owner which was great upon arrival. The breakfast was amazing, few homemade things which was great! The only thing to improve would be to have a proper blinds in the room as we had a corner room and people could see into our room. Otherwise really great place to stay!
2.5
Comfortable room, delicious dinner, great service.

enjoy staying there, it would be a good place to see northern light as it is wide open area and remote from main road. And nice breakfast as well. but unfortunately the sound proof isn’t good enough when you room is above the restaurant

Arrived in the dark after a long trip down the gravel road...to get there, but it was such a worthwhile detour. Hosts were fantastic. Room was beautiful, really clean and the breakfast room has amazing views... can’t recommend enough. Thanks
