The location was picturesque, tranquil and relaxing. So many interesting and quaint buildings to see along the paved wal

The Japanese feel, and the views.

Spiders and centipedes in the house. Nowhere to hang washing and not enough clothes hangers for a family of four.

Steep climb up to the property but worth it

The view and the peace

We are in the property, possibly Japanese sit on the floor to eat but we struggled a bit to eat at the very small table. There were 4 of us so 2 more chairs to sit on and relax would have been good

Only downside is that check-in is from 4 PM and you can't really store your stuff because it's not a hotel.

Unbelievably beautiful location, but be prepared to walk up a few steps :) Very nice old but refurbished house with a fantastic view.

The views were gorgeous, the staff were wonderfully helpful and the house was amazing.

Beautiful stay!

Beautifully done up property, with lovely details, nice garden (which had cats coming by all the time to visit) and massive windows facing the view. The manager was very helpful in asking someone to help us with our luggage.

A bit of a climb to get down each day for food, and a little tricky getting our luggage up there. It was nearly summer so bugs around.

Nice house and excellent view, but was kind of high up (200+ steps)

The host was really nice, picked us up at Onomichi Station, and was super friendly.

Exceptional

The property is stunning. A quiet little ryokan in a quiet little town. The view is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. Me and my partner chose to wake up early just to get some more views in before having to leave the property! Further up the trail there are also some more amazing views with the best cherry blossom we saw in the country.

PLEASE READ THIS! The collection of the keys was a little confusing. The location given on the property is wrong. The property is up a set of stairs, the base of which are a pair of stairs leading to a rail crossing. HOWEVER the keys get collected at the sea front. THIS IS NOT AT THE BASE OF THE STAIRS! You need to keep walking across the road, through the arcade market road. Once at the coast, take a left and there is a wooden style restaurant a few minutes down the road called maipenrai (small English wording, large kanji, difficult to find in google maps) from which you collect the keys. The owner was helpful but use the email system rather than the calling option. I appreciate that the owners are not English fluent so I hope this helps everyone in the future!
